Ludum Dare 45 October 4–7, 2019

3D Artist. Let's make a game happen!

Hello. I am a 3D artist and I have decent knowledge in Blender. I have worked in Unity before and I think it would be pretty easy for me to port the props. I have a team spirit and I'm ready to try this dare for my first time! Haven't worked in a team before, but I'm sure I could handle it.

I'm very friendly and always open to new ideas.

Here is my Artstation page: https://www.artstation.com/stefanstgs

If you're in a need for an artist, I would love to join your team!

We are in

This will be my 3rd Ludum Dare. For LD43, I went solo and did Compo. For LD44, I teamed up with composer @mrjoshuamclean for the Jam. For LD45, we will be 3. Artist @hamsterspit will joining us for the Jam.

You can check out what we all can do together.

We Are In

So we have decided to give this a go, our very first Ludum Dare. Working as a team, we individuals bring our own different skillsets of: programming, designing, illustrating and modelling... a few of us are musicians as well. This will be an exercise to see how we can perform as a team and to, mainly, have fun during the process. I'm always looking forward to seeing what ideas we come up with and to see what everyone else is working on during the weekend.

Best of luck to everyone... Let's have some fun!

I'm in!

Taken a long weekend off work and I'm really excited for this one. I made a wallpaper to get in the spirit, help yourselves: ld45_wallpaper.jpg

As usual I'll be using: * Unity (2019.1.14) & Visual Studio * Photoshop (CC) * Blender (2.8) * FL Studio (20.5)

Have a great one everyone!

So, if you're not an inny - are you an outy?

I'm in for my 8th try. Got the boss to let me off and everything. So it better be a good theme this time!

I kid. I've learned that sometimes you really do have to ignore the theme, especially if it's just getting in the way. And that's my advice to you, dear jammer. Oh, and sleep and eat and stuff during the jam (because just about every keynote has to tell people this for some reason :P)

Happy jamming, everyone!

This is going to be my first big test drive for Bitmelo, the game editor I'm working on. It works for free in your browser and you can check it out at https://bitmelo.com/

My plan for each day is as follows

Ill be spending all Thursday setting up, making sure I have my assets ready, installing software, possibly setting up streaming. Friday I have meetings all day so that. Saturday I want to get my core concept and game play down pack Sunday ill be working on art, music and non essential features. Monday I have a meeting the runs through the last 3 hours of the comp sigh so ill have to get everything finish early Sunday morning and then ill spend Monday avo fixing bugs. Tuesday ill focus on porting from windows to web, mac and hopefully mobile as well.

A few questions.

Alright so I'm new to Ludum Dare and in my previous post everybody was so supportive! Though, I still have questions like: 1. Am I automatically joined in the Ludum Dare 45 when it starts? 2. Can I make my submittion page during the jam? 3. Can I update the game / submittion page after the jam is over? Answers will be appreciated! 4. Should I post progress of my game like a video?

I'm doing it again...

Well, it looks as if I am going to be jamming with a team again, despite my previous almost-decision not to do so... The thing is, I'm working on a different project with some folks, and on mentioning Ludum Dare, a couple of them said that they'd help out a bit with graphics and sound and such, so great! I just hope we can pull something fun out of the magical hat called coffee and frustration and nightmarish fun! [insert-some-relevant-gif-here]

I'm In for my 16th compo

Six months is a long time, hope I haven't forgotten how to do this!

What I'm actually worried about is the dabbling I did in a few new tools. I'm not competent yet but they might tempt me. Dangerous.

Good luck everyone - have fun, stay healthy, and see you on the other side.

This is going to be a fun one :)

I really like the theme's so far, for all but 5 I've got an idea down that I could feasibly make within a 72 hour period for the Jam!

Going to be using Unity 2019.2 and my plan will be to spend less than 8 hours on the actual gameplay and the rest on just polishing what I have ^^ For 3D models I'm going to use Blender 2.8 and for audio I will be diving into Besa Coil for the first time (plus bfxr for some simple sound effects). For the colors/textures I'm probably just going to use flat colors and hopefully get to spend some time with Unity's Shader Graph as well for some extra effects

Let's just hope the final theme doesn't become one of those 5 I've got noting for because then I will just skip the Jam xD

Here comes a new challenger!

Heyoooo guys!! I'm in too for this Ludum Dare! This will be my first jam so I'm nervous hahaha I started to learn unity and c# two months ago, so I just want to test myself and improve putting me against the ropes

See you soon guys!

Something I'd do if the theme is Pollution as I imagine

2020: Scientists announced the failure of all climate change prevention efforts. It is now too late to save humanity. No matter what we do now, the damage is irreversible. Earth's climate will slowly plummet into chaos, until it reach the point where no life can survive.

===

2070: Despite the death penalty, scientists herald of the end was a relief. Humanity's final restrain was broken.

No longer do we need to care about, what, "recycle, reduce, reuse".

No longer do we have to prevent car's exhaust releasing toxic into the air.

The Earth would be dead soon anyway, why would we care?

Complete freedom pushed the boundary of nature's last defense, and it collapsed. Hundreds of years sooner than even the smartest of us would've expected.

We have imaged a thousand ways humanity would end, we were only trying to dismiss the truth we all knew: humanity will die by its own hand.

===

Untitled-1.png

2080: 99% of life was eliminated. Humanity's collaborate effort built one single spaceship, big enough to bring (not you) some last thousands of humanity's populace into space.

It would be our last bet to search for another sustainable planet to destroy, or face extinction in darkness.

Last two ludum dares have been catastrophic for me. I actually haven'n finished any of them due to miscalculations in time as well as in skill  I grabbed myself a friend of mine to join in with me,so I actually have high hopes this time.
