6th LD!

As usual, I'll be taking part, giving it a shot again. Got a new job lined up so hopefully I still have time to take part.

Good luck everyone!

I'm in again

I'm intending to join LD again for it's 45th edition. This time I'll be solo instead of with my daughters as they're with their birthfather this weekend.

I'll be using either GODOT or standard JAVA, depends on what I can get in my fingers by this weekend. Hope you all have a good one!

I'll be taking part!

This is the first LD im going to take part in! wish me luck!

I'm in

This will be my 3rd ludum dare but the last one was LD30 in 2014 so I might be a bit rusty. I just want to have fun and create something hopefully playable :)

I will be using:

Unity Aseprite bfxr

and probably some other things.

I'm new here!

Hey there! This will be my first time participating in Ludum Dare. I dunno yet how this will turn out, but it'll hopefully be fun!

I'm in again

Last ludum dare I made a controversial game. This time twice as much humour. Kid friendly fun. That's my plan. I have less time but I'll work twice as hard. Bring on the rush. The excitement. The pain and the glory. My goal is having no coffee. Is it even possible. Only the gods know.

Taking part

My first time doing a game jam.

Ill be using raylib which i'm new to using but having fun learning it :D And other graphics design programs.

Good luck and have fun! :D

A weekend of new experience!

So this is the first time I'm entering Ludum Dare. I've been wanting to do this for such a long time but have always either missed it or just not had the time.

I know I'm gonna be using Unity but I'm gonna have to refresh my skills up until the start date, so I don't spend the entire weekend looking up tutorials. Not that I am a pro programmer but I'm gonna enjoy finishing a game for once :v:

I will also stream my progress on twitch.com/vinnienovido for anyone to join in and laugh with, or at, me ;)

Hello World

This will be my first, but definitely not my last game jam. I really want to challenge my beginner skills to see what kind of game I can create and can't wait to start on Saturday morning at 6 ;.)

So I'm back...

I'm back for my second LD, which will also only be my third game jam I've entered (I failed to enter both the GMTK and CGJ jams due to forgetting about them).

Some of you may remember my LD44 game Everything is Money!, which did surprisingly well, and was supposed to be updated post-jam... Unfortunately I have still not gotten around to it, despite having all my plans laid out for it, and even made some progress.

This was due, as was the case before LD44, to falling into the loop of getting an interesting idea, starting a new game, and never turning it into a finished product. First I experimented with multiplayer using Mirror, then came a whole bunch of other ideas and other stuff, and I even almost made a clone of Minecraft, until that ended up leading me to discover Minetest.

Minetest is what some might call a Minecraft clone, but it's much more than that - with full Lua based modding, it's been quite the draw for my time, as I'm still trying to up my knowledge of Lua, and it's been quite fun to do it while modding a game. It's also upped my knowledge of GitHub, due to the fact that I have been contributing to some existing mods.

But anyways, enough of all that, it's time for LD45, and time for me to make a game!

Like last time, I'll be using Unity, along with some combination of the following tools:

  • Piskel or GraphicsGale, and GIMP for graphics
  • Audacity and SFXR or Bfxr for sound effects
  • LMMS, Bosca Ceoil, or Pytchie for music (maybe)
  • Trello for planning/time management

Overall I'm much more confident than I was for LD44, I just need to make sure I put more effort to managing my time, so i don't end up finishing at 4am...

Now all i need is a good theme...

Back again!

And I'm back for my second Ludum Dare! I'm really happy because this time I will do it alone... I know it's a really hard choice but I wanna enjoy it the most and see my potencial as a full Game Designer, Programmer and Illustrator... I hope I could do something good because I know it's gonna be a lot more of work!

I'm a Game Designer since 2015 and I'm really thinking about focus more on this area than the others to show my real potencial... What do you think?!

I'm In (again), hopefully...

Just want to make a post to check if I've joined.

I missed previous LD but I hope I have time to do this one. Unfortunately I am already away on Saturday so therefore I'll go jam again.

So excited for this one!

I'm in.

long time viewer, first time participant. no expectations aside from no sleep and bad food.

I'm building with Pico-8. I was super tempted by TIC-80, but Pico-8 serves as an implicit forcing function for fast deliverables because of its extremely limited environment. for a longer timeline I'd probably roll with TIC-80, but for Ludum all it'd do is give me enough rope to hang myself with.

trying a design experiment. will be building a small docset as I participate. trying some ideas about agile dev which focus entirely on the ideate->create->evaluate loop and forego the rest of the usual formal process. I'll write a doc, then build a proto, then play it, and then build the next doc based on observations from the playthrough. no idea what it'll prove but it made me go hmm so I'm going with it.

good times comin.

I am in but also out...

Hey everyone! Because of other commitments I will not be making a game this time but I will be streaming before, during, and after the jam/compo as time permits.

Please consider following my twitch channel and sharing your progress and entry or come by and watch while you work or need a break:
