Ludum Dare 45 October 4–7, 2019

My second solo jam

Yep, it'll be my second game where I participate solo, the first one was GMTK 2019. However, I don't participate in compo.

My toolkit is pretty small: 1. Game Maker Studio 2 with some small quality of life changes; 2. Itch.io as a place there I can find some good free 2D assets. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at making a good art, as well as sounds. 3. Asesprite and Affinity designer to work with some small staff.

Ludem Dare

Looking forward to ludem dare, best of luck to all of you

Is anyone else planning on using Tobii eye tracking for their game?

Is anyone else planning on using Tobii eye tracking for their game? We could review each other’s games!

If you are planning on using Tobii eye tracking for your game I will gladly review your game, including those features that require use of the eye tracker. I am planning oun using Tobii eye tracking for my game, and while I plan to have a backup for those features that require eye tracking, I am hoping other people with the necessary peripherals are participating in this LD.

Please comment on this post of you’re interested in sharing reviews. Hopefully we can get a whole group of people!

Hell yeah I'm in!

Hey everyone! 👋

So, Ludum Dare 45 eh? That sounds fun...

Thing is, I just recently started using Godot Engine, and I haven't had much practice with it. The fun part: I'm going to try & spend the next 3 days following tutorials & getting comfortable with Godot in order to hopefully make something at least half-decent for the jam!

Is it possible? Look here, nothing is impossible! ...Except, you know, some stuff...

But, more importantly, will it be fun? YES!

I brought ~~cookies~~ wallpapers!

What's an LD-jam without some nice stuff for you desktop, amirite?!

Here's a minimal / sketchy style: MINIMAL-WALLPAPER.png

And here's a bit of a "meme" one: MEME-WALLPAPER.png

Both are 1920x1280, hope they fill you with joy °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Well, as always, I only have one last thing to say...

We're in! + Wallpaper

Messed around with fluid simulation in Blender; turned out pretty well! I'm a big fan of the liquid material I came up with, though the fluid geometry is a bit angular in places.

My team is in again with our Dart game engine, cobblestone. I'm excited to see what we can make this go around!

Tools to be used: - IntelliJ IDEA - FL Studio - Tiled - Some mishmash of art tools

See you all Friday.

"L"ike a "D" virgin over here.

First time doing a LD jam, made a few Game Jam a couple of years ago. I’m now really rusty. That’s why I need this challenge and my portfolio will thank me for it.

Tools : - Unity - Asset forge and MagicaVoxel ( Never used it, seems quite intuive though). - Xmind and Hack’n Plan (a trello for Game dev, will see if I end up using it)

That’s it hope for the best for me and everyone! Let’s have some fun.

Just finished my Ludum Dare 44 entry, ready to go again!

After getting mixed reception last Ludum Dare, I've been hard at work improving my game. I'm happy to announce that HAMMO's definitive release is here!

Do you like CS Surf/Bhop or TF2/quake rocket jumping? Do you think there arent enough games on the market that make you feel like a speedrunner? Well I do! And I made a game for me! And Ludum Dare judges arent me.

Please please please

I've got a good feeling about this one! Please let the theme be good!

And.... back out

Yesterday I announced I was finally going to get a chance to LD (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/45/$163448/i-might-be-in) and then this morning in the shower my wife reminded me she had a (long ago planned) get-together with her girlfriends out of town this weekend .... whyeeeee .... farewell LD45 I hardly knew ye :(

((Just wanted to whine.))

I'm in for my 5th Ludum Dare

I’m really excited to participate in my 5th Ludum Dare

I will mostly be using Unity, Blender, Substance Painter and Photoshop.

Check out my previous LD entrys https://ldjam.com/users/rodrigo-denubila/games

Good luck all!

I'm in

Ready to go for another great jam.

I'll be using unity with my Game Jam Starter Kit that anyone is free to use if they want. It's got some basic code libraries that will be useful in a most Jam games. It has a main and pause menu including an options screen with volume sliders for a bunch of different audio categories, graphics options, etc. An audio Manager to making playing of audio through code easier. Game variables and events very similar to what is described in Unite Austin 2017 - Game Architecture with Scriptable Objects but with some niceties of my own making. This Talk

If you end up using the starter kit, let me know I'd like to check you what you've been able to do with it. Also, if anyone has improvements or bug fixes I'd like to know about them. You could also submit pull requests to the repo if you wanted to.

Mad Brokli's first Game jam.

Mad Brokli is feeling the exitement for next weekend. Rock Brokli made a video to introduce the team! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQFcPH6op0g

I'M IN! It will be my 14th time in Compo

For me, it is almost mandatory to participate in Ludum Dare, every single time I stop to acknowledge how much I've improved over 6 years of Ludum Dare, I also remember why this event is so important for me, and also for each member of this community how evolved alongside with me :D

For sure we are going to have a good time next weekend, I'm eager to see what you guys are going to put together!

When I first took place in the event, back when I was 13 and barely could read English, I have to admit that I was a little bit afraid of doing this, but oh boy, how I'm glad for that first try. - I made a terrible game, accidentally broke some rules, and got extremely ashamed about that, but at the end of the day, it was for sure a worth experience.

I'm grateful for our community and how much you helped me improve as a developer. Here's a quick chart showing my ratings, I feel like it is always great to keep track of progress :)

I wish you luck folks, have fun!

Music composer/sound designer looking for a team

Hello, my name is Eduardo Bellon and I’m from Rio de Janeiro.

I’ve been creating music for a long time, but only recently stepped into the world of games. If you allow me to join your team, this will be my first experience!

In my portfolio you can hear some of the soundtracks I made for advertisements, TV and film. I can compose in all musical genres and have hundreds of synths and VSTs at my disposal.

I guarantee you a SERIOUS job. Let’s work and have fun together!
