I’m in!
Hi everyone,
I’m in for #LD21. It’s my first LD. I’ll use
- Flixel as framework
- sfxr for sound
- Gimp for graphics
Hi everyone,
I’m in for #LD21. It’s my first LD. I’ll use
Hi.
Things I’ll be using:
– FlashPunk, FLEX and gedit for coding
– sfxr for sounds and pxtone for my first sorry try at music
– GIMP for graphics
– tons of orange juice for surviving
Right now I’m trying to get something together in pxtone which doesn’t make ears explode around the world. I suck at this.
No video, but I’m in. First timer for me – fingers crossed I manage to produce anything.
I use Java, GIMP, Objective C, Android and whatever comes to mind at the time.
Can’t wait to give it a shot.
First time trying for Ludum Dare!! I’ve often considered it, but first now I’m gonna do it! I’ve considered buying Adobe Flash CS5.5 around this time, cause I can finally get the student discount…which is like 80% off. So I’m either gonna use mxmlc to compile .as to .swf, or use Flash itself.
Platform: Flash!
Code: ActionScript 3.0
Graphics: Either art in Flash, or dynamically by lines/circles/pixels/etc by ActionScript.
Sound: Possibly Bfxr… or record the sounds myself like I did in my iPhone app GoGo Sheep (it actually went well!)
LD 21 is almost here already! Time for the pre-compo declarations:
Framework: I have an AS3 framework (Stego) that has grown out of doing events like these. I will most likely use that once again, but Unity is always tempting. If I had any confidence in my ability to generate 3d assets, that’s probably what I would use.
Music: GreaseMonkey’s music generator worked pretty nicely when I used it in LD19, so odds are I will be using that again.
Sound Effects: BFXR.
Timelapse: Keeyai’s Chronolapse.
Two games in one weekend!?: This Ludum Dare coincides with Klik of the Month Klub #50! So I will try taking a break in the middle of Ludum Dare to make a separate game in only 2 hours! Or… well, I’m contemplating doing something crazy and trying to make a bunch of two-hour games over LD’s 48 hours and bundling them up as one entry! Probably too crazy. Then again, I did make 10 games in one weekend for the last Pirate Kart, so maybe not? We’ll see what kind of ideas I get once the theme is announced.
Strange image for no reason:

I’ve never done one of these before. Hoping this will force me to get over being a wannabe game dev.
Tools
Going to participate for the first time on lucky #21.
I’m planning to use pygame, pixelformer, sfxr; also, maybe GIMP, Audacity, or Blender
Hello, Ludum Dare. I’m Dev_RedAnt, and I make games with ActionScript 3 and Java.
I’ll be entering this weekend’s Ludum Dare, as a first-timer, and I hope I’ll actually get something done. Here’s some of the tools I’ll be using:
-Cfxr for sound (I’m on a Mac, yes)
-Flash CS5 for programming and graphics (Don’t hate on the Flash IDE ;_; )
I’ll be posting stuff on Twitter as I make progress (Images, ramblings, etc.) on my account, @Dev_RedAnt
And I leave you with a meow of joy! ~Meow
Hi,
this is gonna be huge, so how can i not attend?
Python; pygame/pyglet;Pain(t).NET/GG
Good luck

Ludum dare 21 is almost upon us, and once again we’ll be hosting a gathering at CB2 Bistro in Cambridge, UK. There’s food, drink, and plenty of space for laptops. Come and join us!
(super friendship club thread)
I’m totally in this time. Whatever the theme may be, I’m feeling a lot more confident this time.
Code: Flixel, Flixel Power Tools, TweenLite/Max for some ‘tweens, polygonal DS for, well, data structures, and quickb2 if I need physics (who knows) . Using FlashDevelop, of course.
Art: Mostly Cosmigo Pro Motion, I like to play with color schemes using Adobe Kuler. May pull fonts from fontstruct or League of Movable Type, as well.
Sound and Music: FL Studio and bfxr, maybe Audacity if I need to record voices.
Aw yeah.
Hey all! This is my first time.
I’ll be working with HTML5 and Javascript, using the jawsjs library. This is my first HTML5 game, so things may go horribly awry!
I’ll be using Paint.net for graphics and sfxr/audacity for audio.
This will be my sole motivator and source of energy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COYRxf13tIg
Looking forward to it.
I’m looking forward to this, my first Ludum Dare. I’m down for the competition, but I may be going out of town in which case time will force me to participate in the Jam.
The tools I’ll be using:
And that’s it, I’ll be using some base collision code I wrote and (depending on the theme) the tile level editor I built (no logic built in).
Good luck everyone and make great games.
This will be my first try at Ludum Dare.
I’ve entered MS’ Dream Build Play 4 years running and still have yet to produce a game of any sort. I’m hoping 48 hours will give me the needed push to get there.
Language: C# or F# if I’m feeling particularly adventurous.
Framework/Lib: XNA.
Graphics: Paint.NET, The Gimp, MS Paint
Sound: ??? Update this later.
Intro: Hey! IDG from NY, NY. This will be my 1st Ludum Dare. My goal is to make a game that I can play with my girlfriend.
Language: Java / HTML5
Graphics: Adobe Suite.
Sound: FL Studio

This will be my first Ludum Dare. I have a few other things to tend to during the weekend but hopefully I’ll get something nice done.
I will be using
Artificial deadline to force creation? Brilliant!
Probably going to use the Ren’Py scripting engine because that’s what I know best. Does anyone have suggestions for music? That’s going to be the hardest thing for me to generate, I can already tell.
In and rather excited.
This is my first time in Ludum Dare and I shall be working by myself under the umbrella of Wyrm Interactive.
I’ll be using C# with XNA Game Studio 3.1 as my language and Visual Studio 2008. SAIpainter for sprites and other graphics though like a few people I’ll be stumped on audio, will probably just use SFXR to the best of my ability so… Let’s do this.

This is my required post stating that I’m in and ready to be awesome!
I haven’t quite decided what I’m going to be using yet. It’s either going to be AS3 Flash with FlashPunk or Ren’py. I figured I would let the theme do the deciding for me. If I feel really brave, I’m going to try and do it all in what I’m used to (C# XNA), but I’d rather use this time to explore things I haven’t yet. Heck, maybe I’ll throw a curve ball and use it an excuse to check out LOVE 2D.
Music? Pxtone, most definitely, with audacity for wav and sound editing with sfxr used for additional effects. You can hear some of my music here if you’d like. I’ve got quite a bit of experience using it and it’s still really fun to crank out a 1 minute tune in.
There’s a chance I may get stuck outside of computer land and if so, I’ll have to give up. But I’m going to try and not do that. Same goes for you people!
Let’s rock this thing!
At least i’m going to try to make something. I have a tight schedule and less as 10 hours total available, so i’m not sure if i get something working at all. But i really wan’t to try it.
I’m Working with Java in Eclipse.
For the grapics i’ll use Fireworks.
For the sound (if i have time left) bfxr.
