LD21 August 19–22, 2011

Declaration of Stuff

So as I have been saying for the last 4 months, I’m in :-)

I’ll be using

  • Unity3D to put the thing together, written in Javascript (also iTween I guess)
  • 3DS Max for modelling
  • Photoshop for everything graphical
  • My trusty guitar and Guitar Pro for music
  • Coffee. This time I’ll make sure I have enough of a stockpile.

This will be fun. I already heard from some interesting people to join, and I hope we will get a theme worthy of interesting designs (go Nihilism!)

In, but for a few hours

Well, I might have a few hours that I can spare at the beginning of the LD. My entry is going to be very, very basic, but hey, might as well try to do something !

It’ll be frenetic as hell, but twice as fun. I’ll be using FlashPunk (I’m starting to really like that library), Photoshop, and probably bfxr.

I’ll try and find a nice simple concept and make it. If I manage that, It would be awesome but I don’t really expect to achieve much actually !

Good luck to all and let’s have fun :)

I’m in!

The last two LDs I tried to enter, I decided to use a new / ambitious framework, got frustrated, and failed to finish.

I’m going to kick myself out of that pattern. Whatever the theme is this time, I’m going to do it in either Pygame or straight up console text.

Although I’d love to try Python 3…

I’m in!

Finally I think I’m officially in. 😀

I’m going to use the following:

  • Flashpunk as the engine
  • The trusty sfxr for the sounds.
  • The amazing musagi for music.
  • The lovely Paint.NET for the gfx.

Let’s have fun!

I’m In!

My name is Greyson(Bloodyaugust), and I’m in! I’ve been wanting to do this for about a year, and I’ve decided I’m finally up for it!! I’m a web developer professionally, but a C# XNA hobbyist. Here goes the list:
– XNA for code
– FL Studio 10 for music/sounds
– Paint.Net for gfx
– Family for support! 😉

First time for me, I’m in.

Well this is my first ever Ludum Dare (oh dear god please help me) There’s a high chance I’ll fail badly but I won’t know until I try, eh? Something simple will be the outcome, probably. I’ll be using XNA to code, Photoshop to make artwork and I’ll need to find sounds from somewhere! Either way I’m nervous and excited.

I’m in LD 21!!

First time participating!!  I have been lurking for some time (like 3 months) and now I finally decided to participate and DO SOMETHING.

My tools are:

  • AS3 with  Flixel (a little familiar with flixel)
  • GraphicsGale, Photoshop, Paint (programmer art)
  • sfxr/ bfxr, musagi, Audacity (at least some weird sound effects and music, i’m not really a composer)

I’m more gameplay focused so I might neglect graphics and sounds. (lol)

Good Luck Everyone!  Nice to meet you all!

Second try, But now for the LD21 compo.

This is my second Ludum Dare, This time for the compo. I did submit a game for LD20 but i found ludum dare a bit to late. Had few hours left for submitting a game for the Jam so i made a realy small game in just 2 hours. Now i want to try again and finish in time for the compo.

So how am I going to do that?

I will use FlashDevelop to script and haXe to compile. Than will I try to create some graphics using Paint.NET. If i need some bigger images I will use Photoshop. The last thing i will need to have is music. I guess that that is the biggest problem. But I will try to do that with sfxr and musagi.

Good luck everyone!

Plans & intentions

I’m quite sure I intend to die sometime during the next 80 or so years. I’m quite excited, and have a lot of plans for it! If only I get a fitting theme – 4D would be quite a cool theme for a death.

I’m In, and you don’t care!

I’m in, these are my plans :)

IDE – FlashDevelop
Language – AS3 with FlashPunk Library
Platform – All flash compatible devices that have keyboards and the internetzz :)
Music – LSDJ/Guitar/Bass
SFX – SFXR/Audacity and maybe LSDJ
Fuel – Mtn. Dew/Beef Jerky/Funyuns

Other Notes – last year turned out great for me and my buddy in the jam, but this year he will be in Chicago for LD Weekend so no company for me.

I’m in…

Hey! My first LD so I hope I can finish it and get something out there!

Tool’s I’ll be using:

  • XNA (C#)
  • GIMP for artwork
  • Dr Pepper zero (Got to watch that waist)
  • Livestream to stream WIP
  • Coffee
  • ???
Really can’t wait to get started on it to be honest, I tried to get some people together to do a Mini version (9 hours to make a game prototype) but in the end it was just me doing it. Good luck everyone!

I’m In

Maybe, i hope.. i may be able to spend a few hours on this ld. which should be enough to create a crap game/demo type thing.. i think i’m capable of it but time is a big factor which i have little of this week.

I just want to participate :/ Even if i don’t accomplish much i’d like to give it a go you know?

If i manage to participate i’ll be using:
sfxr: for sound effects
http://inudge.net/ : for music if i manage to put any in.. with time constraints i wouldn’t count on it.
Gimp/paint for art most likely
Java + Slick2d ~ for creating the game.

Hello.

I’m TaslemGuy. I hope to participate in either the Ludum Dare Competition or the Ludum Dare Jam. I’m not sure which, because I’ve never participated in any Ludum Dare before, or really any game design competition.

I’m in!

Hey, all! I’m pretty nervous about trying LD, but I’m hoping it’ll be fun! Planning on using C++ with the Allegro library for spriting and writing some music in GarageBand or FLStudio, although I don’t know yet how to make music work with C++.

I’m in…

red vitae needs compo badly! Hopefully I’ll be able to make something worthwhile this time… my few attempts at LD’s and miniLD’s haven’t been wonderful. We’ll see what actual worktime brings the vitae. I’ll be checking the theme over a pint, then hitting the compy when I get home.

My toolset:
Language: Python
Library: pygame
SFX & Music: nada (I have no audio talent)
Graphics: KolourPaint (yes, I use KDE), possibly poorly hand-drawn art?
Text Editing: vim (syntax highlighting, autoindent, what else do I need?)
Target Platform: linux, with hopeful port to win32 and possibly (but don’t bet on it) to OS X
Fuel: coffee, coffee, and more delicious black coffee

You can always use sfxr… or make the music with your mouth. Even bad sound adds a bunch to a game. Or if you make a silent game, you could have the noise of a film projector in the background.

I’m in

I’m going to participate in the LD Jam

My toolset:
Language: DM
SFX & Music: sfxr
Graphics: GraphicsGale pixelart
Text Editing: Included text editor in the DM toolkit
Target Platform: Windows and Linux
Fuel: Beer and luck

I’m in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare.

I’d like to submit an “I’m in” video clip, but my internet uploads at 1 MB/minute… :(

Language: AS3
Library: Flashpunk
SFX & Music: SFXR and Autotracker-C and Schism Tracker to make minor edits to the music that comes out of it
Graphics: MSPaint, Game Maker 8, Paint.NET
Text Editing: Flashdevelop
Target Platform: All flash capable devices with keyboards and mice. Sorry Macbook Air 2nd gen, you don’t have flash 😉
Fuel: Food and Water

LD #21 – I’m IN!

My boyfriend and I have decided to do the Jam this time. I’ll be taking over graphics and sound while he does the actual game development. I believe we will be using Torque2D, sfxr, musagi, and a variety of graphics program that may include GIMP, Photoshop, and whatever else he has on his machine.

Copying threading code

Hey, all.  According to the rules, any base code must be declared beforehand, and I was planning to use some code for multi-threading from this site:

http://www.codeproject.com/KB/threads/sync.aspx

Is this acceptable? I’ll give credit, but I don’t know how much direct copying of code is tolerated.

Using pre-written code is generally fine as long as you’re not like “oh hey I just coincidentally wrote a game 5 days ago that I’m now going to use”. In your case, you’re totally fine.
