In!
I couldn’t complete my entry last time, so hopefully I’ll have a chance in this one (perfect timing, it starts right after my semester ends!).
Engine: Unity (C#)
IDE: Visual Studio 2010

GFX: Photoshop + paint

Since I still haven’t finished documentation for the whole thing, no big official release announcement yet.
But since I’m going to use it for the LD, here’s the link for everyone who mught get curious:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/preui/
It’s as simple and as lazy as you can ever get with Java UI development :). If anyone gets any questions, feel free to ask!
I’m also warming up for the compo. However I figured I’ll work on my framework during this time. I’ve managed to implement decent collision handling and I want to fix the PAJModelEditor before the weekend. It’s amazing that my framework is dramatically improved after each LD I take part in
Actually there are only one or two major features missing before I’ll start encouraging other people to use it. Who knows maybe in LD25 there will be more than one person using the PAJFramework. That’d be cool 😀
I’m happy to see there are many people writing games in Java here. I think that Java is a great language for game development (as long as You don’t want to push the hardware to it’s limits).
It’s cool that a number of people from the company, I work for, will also participate in LD22 😀 Maybe we’ll do the jam in LD23?
I’m wandering what theme will be. I have some cool ideas for game revolving around mechs or for a dungeon crawler. I love dungeon crawlers 😀
Ready for my third LD
Hello I am Wilson Saunders, and I will be game jamming with Dormouse Development. I have participated in two prior Ludum Dares under the moniker “hamster_mk_4”. I will script in C# and use the free version of Unity3d. I may also use GIMP, Blender, or Audacity for asset creation.
Hello,
My name is John Li and I am the lead programmer of Sky Parlor Studios. We are an indie mobile development company and we will be participating in the game jam. We plan to use Unity3D during the game jam. Only part of our development team will be available but we’ll see if we can set up livestream or something.
Goodluck everyone!

It’ll be my first LudumDare, and one of my few finished piece of work.
I write javascript using prototype.js, do arts with gimp, do sounds with sfxr and play them with soundmanager2.
I may add music made with http://inudge.net/.
If you’re wondering, it’s the skill I’ve built during 5 year of lazy programming 😀
Me and my brother are going to do the Jam. I’d give the dare a shot, but I’m not quite ready to try that yet.
I do have one question. You can work on framework (like an engine?) beforehand? I thought it all had to be made in a weekend. (72 hours for the jammers).

After seeing so many entries from the past competitions, I’m going to do something this time and get an entry made.
I’ll be using AS3 and starting from scratch – no libraries either.
Can’t wait!
Hey, I’m fairly new to programming as a whole and I was wondering to what exactly qualifies as “base code” or a “Code Library”? I’m aware of the obvious ones that are available publicly such as Flixel, Box2D, ect. I’m more concerned about the personal libraries. For example, would an A* pathfinding system qualify as either of those?

First Ludum Dare and excited to get started!
Weapons of choice:
– Java (been 5 years since last time I used java but I like the challenge). No special libraries as I wouldn’t know any.
– iPad with SunVox, Sprite Something, and SketchBook for resources
Good luck to all!
This post is my declaration to compete in Ludum Dare 22.
I have never competed before, and this is my first project of this type. It is going to be a grand adventure.
I plan on basing my project on pygame, likely using the pygames utilities library http://code.google.com/p/pgu/.
No matter what the eventual theme is, I know I want to explore NPC interaction and storytelling.
I am being inspired by demos by Martin Magnusson about natural language processing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ0juIliwL8
Another one of my inspirations is Douglas Adam’s Starship Titanic, an older game but the only of it’s kind to incorporate a chat based interface.
I want to try add story and dynamic needs to NPCs in a way mainstream games have not tried yet. It is an idea I have been playing with in my head for about a year now, but I have not put any code down on paper so to speak and I am excited about finally getting an excuse (and time now that finals are just over) to do so.
So this is my first LD, and I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. I might do a text based game with PDCurses, or a platformer with my engine. Anyway, here’s the stuff I might use:
SFML (If I start from scratch)
PDCurses (again, starting from scratch)
Bullwhip (my engine, hosted publicly at https://github.com/neos300/Bullwhip
Good luck everyone!
I wil be joining you people once more for this LD. Hope to make an awesome game and see all the epic stuff you guys make!
The tools I’ll be using are most likely AS3,Flashdevelop,Flixel,some random paint program, pxTone cause those are the ones I am most familiar with using.
See you all early saturday!
This is my first Ludum Dare. I will probably not finish my game, but whatever! I heard it’s fun.
Here’s my tools and what-not:
Language/Library: Java and Slick2D
IDE: Eclipse (duuh…)
Graphics: Paint.NET or maybe GIMP… We’ll see…
Sound: SFXR and Musagi
Other: Coke (Not coke. Coke.)¨
Third Ludum Dare for me, the first one didn’t result in anything, but the last one did and it was very fun for me. This time I’ll try not to make a text-based game. I hope I can create something in time, but I’ll definitely have fun!
I’ll be using Game Maker for the game, Photoshop and Inkscape for the art and either Nanoloop for Android or Ableton Live for music.
Allright, i am in for the first time.
The total number of voters on the first round of theme voting is usually fairly predicative of the number of entries. See:
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ld-21-voting-round-1-of-5/ Votes: ~650, Entries: 600.
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ld-20-voting-round-1-of-6/ Votes: ~400, Entries: 350.
So, after some fuzzy math, my guess is we’ll get 1000 entries this time.
Thoughts? I’m nervous!
