Glutten for punishment that I am, I’m in for another Ludum Dare. I’m gonna try something a bit dangerous this time, by using the compo/jam (most likely the jam) as a crash-course test for Unity3D. I’ve heard lots of good things about it, but never used it (or even installed it) myself. Let’s see if I can get ANYTHING achieved in it this weekend!
(Disclaimer: I reserve the right to change my mind and use XNA or flex)
Here’s what I intend on using
Coding
Graphics
- Inkscape (maybe)
- Corel Paint shop
Sound
- Audacity (Sound Effects, recorded using household objects and a microphone)
- ACID Xpress 7.0 (Music, if there is enough time after everything else is in place)
Time-lining
I don’t use anything fancy for time-lining, just a table of events on my personal website, with concept art, screenshots, and vidcaps. I have preapred the page for LD22 at http://derekstobbs.net/projects/projects-ludumdare/projects-ld22 and will be tweeting now and again (follow @Kalakian if interested).
The compo starts at 02:00 on Saturday morning here, so it’ll be an early night for me, so I can get up stupidly early, get caffeinated, and try make sense of Unity3D.
Good luck everybody, and have fun!!
