Issues

I’ve had two issues in the run up to Ludum Dare:

1. I have been busy this week due to unforeseen circumstances. No further work has happened on the Repton clone (which is particularly sad as it is so close to being finished). When I finish it I’ll post it on SourceForge and will post a link to it on this blog.

2. There is a problem with X on my Linux installation. Fortunately I only just set up MinGW, notepad++ and SDL on my Windows installation, so this will have practically no effect on my development environment whatsoever (except that I no longer will have an undeserved feeling of gosu from using Linux).

Anyway, four hours until the competition and I’m all set! Good luck to all!

Gettin’ Loose Like A Goose

Suese

The stage is set with 5 hours left and this Suese is already gettin’ loose like a Canadian goose.

Competition area is cleaned, sterilized, and good to go. This Suese is ready to operate. Time to get this man a patient!

Good luck everyone!

There's a good reason I enjoy these competitions.

I’m In for LD48

Despite warming up with Love2D and Lua, I am declaring that I will use Flixel and AS3, as I’m more familiar with them, and I want to share it with more people.

Also: because Pixel Art.

Aha, answering my own question, the 48 hour competition. I get it!

In

I’m not creating enough lately.

This is good timing.

I’m in.

Oh, and I use Unity.

Four Hours To Go

And I still don’t have a clue what sort of programming language or tools I want to use.

This is going to be nothing short of a train wreck.

Use what you know the

Most :)

Still interested in Unity Jam partners!

The countdown is almost over, and I’m still looking for artisty types wanting to Jam. I’m a Unity C# programmer, I’ve tried to crash course myself in modeling the past few days but I’m still just as bad as ever at it. And don’t even get me started on textures and 2D art.

I’m on IRC if you wanna bug me there, or comment here if you’re interested! I’d like to do the Dare but I know that whatever the theme is, I’ll wind up with Attack of the Killer Kubes.

Everyone has such tidy desks!

I’ll try

Not sure i’ll have any free time in the next 48 hours..

But depending on the theme I’ll try to make a little game.

Using: C++, Java, Python, HTML5.. I’ll see what I feel like/suits the theme

Good luck everyone

Hell yeah.. Im in!

Im in…

Got my energy drinks. And im going to get a good night sleep so i can be ready and fresh for ludum dare 22.

Im going to program in Java( Slick ) or Flash (Flashpunk).

I have no idea, but let’s do this!

So much procrastinating…  this sounds like fun, I’ll submit something this weekend but it’ll probably be terrible.  I’ll be using Blender for graphics, probably bsfxr for sound (or maybe Animoog if I don’t lose too much time playing with it) and ImpactJS/HTML5.

I’m in!

In, and hoping to learn to use Unity and SpriteManager ( http://www.unifycommunity.com/wiki/index.php?title=SpriteManager ) over the weekend.  I don’t really expect to make anything worth shouting about, but it’s a good excuse to learn some new tech.

I’m in! (Hopefully)

I’ll be using C, SDL, and—you guessed it—Vim.

(Hopefully. My weekend is going to be a bit busier than I would’ve liked.) 😉

Good luck, folks!

Almost Time!

Finally done with finals and getting set up!

Here’s the obligatory workspace photo (I think I need some more screens…):

I’ll be hacking up some quick basis code over the next couple hours (it’ll be on my github here). I’ll probably be using SDL this time (I usually do 3D stuff, but I’d like to give something 2D a try).

Good luck everyone!

Alright! Yeah! Woo! Sticking with what I know, AS3, Flixel (or just straight Flash, if it’s a better fit), Pro Motion, FL Studio. My goal this time around: Create something unique. Let’s do this.

I’m in for Ludum Dare 22

First time Ludum Dare for me, this is what I’ll be using:

Language: C++

Libraries: SDL, SDL_mixer, SDL_image, OpenGL

Tools: sfxr, GIMP, Geany, GCC

I am badly prepared.

I’d post loads of pictures of my epic entourage of monitors, but it really just consists of a laptop. On my lap. Oh well, at least its a pretty decent laptop 😛

Clean desk

I removed 3kg of dust from my desk, it feels so good <3

I’m in

This is going to be my 2nd LD. My last game was total failure and I’ve learned from that.

Tools:

  • Notepad++
  • Lua with LÖVE (Backup: C# or C++ with SFML)
  • Paint.NET
  • bfxr/sfxr
