Ready for LD30
So I’m in for another Ludum Dare, for the competition rather than the jam this time (unless I really need that additional twenty-four hours…).
Coding: Phaser (https://github.com/photonstorm/phaser), along with the basic game template provided and some of the plugins available for it (https://github.com/photonstorm/phaser-plugins), depending on what kind of game I end up doing. Cloud9 will serve as my IDE and test server.
Image Creation: Paint.NET!
Audio: Bsfx, Sfxr, Audacity, and/or Audiotool.com, depending on the game I make.
Level Design: Tiled Map Editor (www.mapeditor.org) for level creation, along with lots of pencils and paper and both physical and virtual game pieces to plan things out.
Other: Dropbox and/or Google Drive for hosting and file storage, Steam and the World Wide Web for distractions, a variety of randomizers for inspiration (including seventhsanctum.com and http://orteil.dashnet.org/gamegen), and a number of humans to bounce ideas off of.
I’ll try to be a lot more active with posting updates this time, and hopefully using an engine I’m actually somewhat familiar with this time will make this LD easier.
