Please consider check it out! Drop your games below and Ill do my best to check them out!

Mama Duck Hero is published.

So I had an idea we were brainstorming shortly after the theme drop, but then we saw a some baby ducks on a pond and decided a mother duck quack counted as a signal to her ducklings. So began Mama Duck Hero, another entry in our "HERO" line of games.

Spent too much time Saturday day trying to figure out grass. Spent too much time dealing with navigation meshes in Godot last night. But managed to get this pulled together and released!

Looking forward to playing all your games.

Horror Puzzle? Our Game!

Hey everyone! We made a small puzzle horror game Signal Resonance for Ludum Dare 59, based on the theme Signal. We only had a short time to put everything together, so the game is short but focused on atmosphere and simple puzzles. Download, extract and run directly, no installation required. If you leave a comment with your game, I'd be happy to play it ! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/signal-resonance 微信图片em20260421070928/em8_131.png 屏幕截图 2026-04-20 234120.png

That's Funky

The music is ready. The sounds are basically done too. So my job as a sound designer on the jam is over, I can relax while the rest of the team is running around with their butts on fire trying to finish the project, lol. funkyRenoise.png

Of course, more could have been done, but overall I'm glad with the result. Enjoy the funk!

I didn't make a game, but...

изображениеem2026-04-21/em024941141.pngI managed to create some neat animations and sounds for the weapons. I still plan to finish the game in the Extra format. You'll be wandering through underground catacombs to sabotage the corporation's server.

Rhythm games are weird

We created a rhythm game for this jam, which was a new experience for me. You need to take into account the possibility that the player might press a button either milliseconds too late or too early, which raises all sorts of weird issues.

It also did not help that I accidentally had "Windows Sonic" activated for the first 65 hours of the jam, which made the music sound really horrible...

But the game is finished now, and I am quite happy with it. Feel free to play and rate it if you are interested in our "Necrodancer-like" :)

Post-Jam Thoughts

I'v made it, but it's not what I expected.

At the start I had this big vision. Radar scanning! Frequency alignment! Multi‑planet travel! A decoding puzzle! A code assembly system! Sounded incredible on paper. But in real game it looks borning.

The “one more mechanic” trap

Every new system felt so cool while I was adding it. But then came the bugs. Then the UI nightmares. By the time everything technically worked, I had zero time left to make any of it actually feel good. No juice. No polish. Just raw, functional, slightly painful gameplay.

So if you’re about to start your next jam, please learn from my stupidity: pick one mechanic and make it sing.

The real motivation struggle

Nobody warns you about this, but exploration/puzzle games in a jam can get realy boring if you don’t have the right hook. Is not fun on its own. I asking myself: why would the player care?

Eventually I landed on something a little weird - a real‑world reward. There’s a Steam game key hidden inside the game itself. You decode signals across 9 planets and find 6 specific fragments, then assemble them in the right order, and get an actual activation code. It’s meta, like ARG, and I like it.

Fun's broken, I know

The radar feels sluggish. Travelling between planets is borning and same. There are no small rewards along the way just the big one at the end. There are no the “annoyance mechanics” I never got to add: the little friction points and payoffs that turn a functional game into an engaging one. I knew I needed them. I just ran out of hours.

One last thing

Ship it anyway. Even if it’s janky. A broken, submitted game beats a perfect idea that never leaves your hard drive. But next time? I’m keeping scope tight.

Thanks for playing. And good luck decoding – you’ll need it

Data Package, Please

screenshot0

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/data-authority

I had this idea to make something like Papers, Please, but about moderating internet traffic. Instead of a desk — a screen, instead of passports — data packets. The decisions stay the same: allow or deny.

Your job is to manually inspect each packet — analyzing IPs, protocols, data formats, and more — constantly cross-checking everything against a large rulebook that keeps growing and evolving. It’s a fun concept that could also be used to explain things like IP addresses, subnet masks, protocols, and more through practical, real-world examples.

But I ended up diving a bit too deep into the visuals — shaders, ambience, sound design, the tutorial pipeline, and so on…

screenshot

And it was awesome. Game jams are a great chance to try something new, and I ended up picking up a bunch of cool techniques on the fly — things I’ll definitely use in the future. Especially that amazing CRT shader by SittingDuck.

screenshot1

Right after coming up with the concept, I immediately had a clear vision of what the Inspector’s workspace should look like: a big chunky retro monitor, a metal desk, and an empty black room in the background. The CRT shader does a fantastic job of selling that old-school tech feel — it adds character and context even to the simplest geometric shapes. I wanted to bring that same vibe into the environment itself.

So I threw together a few mixed-format assets, spent a couple of minutes in Photoshop… and then about five hours tweaking shaders — post-processing, screen parallax, terminal and background layers, dynamic zoom, light scattering from the monitor, and a ton of little details — all for… five seconds of a transition from the main menu... And I absolutely love those five seconds.

screenshot2

I also love GameMaker Studio for the freedom it gives when working with graphical surfaces and shaders. I’m pretty sure that one day the mindset of “just throw something together — shaders will fix it later” will be the end of me.

Play it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/data-authority

Grand Strategy for a Jam? That would be dumb...

Which is why I decided to do it anyways!

When I saw the theme, I immediately got this image in my head of a clandestine network of spies operating by sending messages over radio frequencies. Ended up getting waaay into the weeds, and the result ended up turning into a Risk inspired strategy game where you have to win a Post-Second-Civil War United States back from a shady cult called Project 2042.

Screenshot 2026-04-20 193315.png

There are things that could have been done better, but I really like where things landed. This is my first LD in a few years and I'm really excited to be back at it. Looking forward to checking out all the awesome games you folks made!

Save a cat

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/save-the-cat

Our first Ludum Dare is finally done! 🐱

My friend and I just finished our very first LD jam. It was a crazy 3-day marathon!

Honestly, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Since it was our first time, we struggled with a lot of things and some parts didn't turn out exactly as we planned. But we did our best with the time we had, and we’re just happy we managed to finish it.

Those three days were so intense that now it feels like my life's goal just disappeared overnight lol. It’s a weird feeling, but I’m looking forward to finally sleeping and then playing some of your games!

Good luck to everyone who made it to the finish line. If you're still pushing — you can do it!

That was so hard and exciting! Just released a game!

OMG that was hard. I love game jams very much and I was looking at the posts you guys did and I was getting a little nervous, because my project didn't feel that awesome, like the ones I saw. I can't wait to play your games and you play mine. Although itch.io is down and I only submitted windows build, I will upload we build there tomorrow. ANYWAY - the hardest part is done and I can finally rest and play games. I believe that all of you did great! Check my game, when you have time and maybe you like it.

Our first Ludum Dare game, please check it out :)

4019 lines of C later, I'm done!

That said, 4019 lines of code with the boilerplate rendering code, but I wrote it during the jam nonetheless.

I doubted I would finish it, especially since the last week had been very tiring. I basically coded a rudimentary version of logisim.

Here is the game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/world-of-gates

I hope you will have a little bit of fun with it.

QUICK, PLEASE!

Is it true that after the jam ends, there is an additional hour given for submission? I ran into problems with the build, and it looks like I won’t be able to get it ready in 15 minutes.

i have a question...

noob here, i read something about an hour of buffer after the timer that lets you finish your game/publish it. is this actually a thing?

Vice Signalling is finished! (almost)

And now we need to get some sleep 😣

Looking forward to playing some cool video games from you in the coming days!

It's over.

It was my second ld, this time I decided to make game in a small team (me and my gf). It was fun experience, looking forward to see other games. So, we released a game, I understood that my code is garbage, that's all for today.

Some notes from our SHAMAN:

The plot and music, as well as the entire game design, were created through a collective process of disparate decisions. As a screenwriter and director, my role was to structure and bring consistency to all the ideas that were accepted. As always, the game was filled with tears, blood, and other bodily fluids.

It's done!

coverimgLD.png Another Ludum Dare in the bag. I didn't get to add as much or polish it up as much as I wanted to (do I ever?), but it's done. Not the best game but I'm happy with it. And at least it's got some semblance of progression and an end to it which I usually can't fit in at all. Congratulations on finishing LD59 y'all! You just got jammed!

UPLiNK Defender is done!

7150d.png

Woo! After three days and some of the most chaotic last minute bugs I've ever seen (Our Tutorial scene literally assimilated three of our other scenes into itself... never seen that before) I've officially finished my Second Ludum Dare, and my fifth game jam total! Super happy with my team on this one! Two of them have never done one of these before, but I feel they've added great things to our game. Thanks guys! Hope you all enjoy it!

There are now flying saucers

Finished just in time!

Sub_Background (1).png

Just managed to upload our game Subpar Treasure Seeker! The last minute itch.io crash made me nervous. Overall pretty happy with how the game turned out, but I spent way too long (probably 8-10 hrs) creating a world generation and chunk loading system.. so I wasn't able to add a lot of the other features I wanted to get to. The game ended up just having a bit of exploration and collecting treasure, but not much else.

Anyways, any plays and reviews are much appreciated! (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/subpar-treasure-seeker). Also, I'll be looking for games to review tomorrow, and if you drop your game in the comments, I'll prioritize playing and reviewing it! Thanks!

Done did it~!

Congrats to everyone else who managed to finish something too.

Guess who forgot submission hour exists, and was scrambling to upload the game 10 minutes ago. Yep, this guy. Managed to get the overall features I wanted implemented. I had kind of hoped to add another layer of puzzle using audio files, more images to discover, and discovery of manual pages as you progress instead of all the implemented ones being available at once, but I'm happy enough with the result. It's nothing too fancy, but it's a game, and it's been ages since I finished something.

We plan to work on in further - lots of features got simplified for the jam, but it's playable, and we're happy with it.

Now we're going to get some sleep. Hope you get some good deserved rest as well!

Wow Done

I was starting to get a bit down hearted as the last couple of Jams we have done had some game breaking bugs in the last couple of hours so we did not submit. However this time we moved from Unity to Godot and how different i feel after this weekend.

No merge hell removing prefabs, no building the project over and over to get a working build. Just smooth sailing until you lot rate it :P

I want to shout out a big thank you to my brother in arms who always turns up even if we failed a few. Cheers MetalJim. Nice tunes.

Now sleep :P

Last second submission

When I way last second I mean it. I had to tools down with approx. 10 seconds left on the timer, but everything is submitted and ready for ratings. Hopefully there are no issues, as I didn't get a chance to fully test. There is so much that I didn't get to implement because of serious personal issues during development(didn't get to really do anything on Sunday), but I definitely will continue my game after the jam. To anyone who plays my game, I hope you have at least a bit of fun and can see what I was trying to do. It's called Robo-Miners, please check it out.

Happy to share! come and play our game!

We created a team of three people to try making our own game for Ludum Dare. The development process was challenging but very exciting for all of us.

My first time at Ludum Dare

The Experience

I don't usually participate in game jams, as i normally prefer to work on bigger projects, but i decided to give it a try and I liked it! Worked with a team, was responsible for half of the 3D art. I really like how the final game turned out.

Screen1.png

The game

It is a first person shooter game called "Lost Signal: Network Warfare" and is about a special soldier sent to a planet taken over by aliens to restore local infrastructure. Core of the gameplay revolves around weapons, that need to be in range of certain signals in order to function. The game has some elements of tower defense. You are provided traps, and special signal extenders to place around. So, as a player you walk around activate signal towers, shoot some aliens, and overall it's a lot of fun!

Phew, I made it!!

I really pushed myself with this one. I've never done anything with Godot in 3D before. I've used Blender for years but have never made animations like this. Somehow I pulled it off, I think because the concept I picked was simple enough to let me spend time figuring things out.

I had some issues with the web build not playing back audio correctly, so I also uploaded desktop builds.

Enjoy! Can't wait to play all y'alls games. :)

CIPHER TOWER | OUR FIRST PROJECT | RELEASED

Hello everyone! This was our first jam! We were thrilled to work on our very own, very first game:)

Some things may not work. I don't know if we can patch the project later. But if we can - we will. Sorry:P

Cipher Tower is a game about us. Receiving signals, trying to decipher them and fail. And lose our fingers in the process, of course. We will be happy if you try it out!

Radio's Bizarre Adventure

First time participating a game jam! Three days flew by, and we left so many planned features and stories unfinished, yet it was still an incredibly joyful and passionate experience! Love my team members O3O

Plz feel free to try out our game! There might be quiet a few bugs thought LOL cover.jpg

Going for Extra

This is all I have for now, I haven't even coded the actual "signal" mechanic I had planned ;_;

Congrats for those who managed to finish something; I look forward to playing your games anyway :)

PS: I know Extra runs for a couple of weeks but I'm still trying to finish this thing asap; even if it's not ranked I'd like to have some feedback.

PS2: I'm really considering making a PC game next time... (or maybe a PS1 game?)

I made the pixel art for our game!

I'm really happy with how the art turned out! Play our game to check out the results of me flexing my super speedy pixel art skills! :) The endless hours I have spent in Aseprite paid off for pumping out all of the art that quickly, lol. squirrelemdig.gif squirrel/emdeath.gif squirrel_idle.gif

Play our game, it's playable on the website/in browser! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/small-among-storms

Ludum Dare was my first game jam~

I had a ton of fun, and this was what I needed to get away from a recent layoff rut. Thank you to the team for being amazing at what you do! Everyone is an absolute MVP~

I finished my first Ludum Dare!

I made my first 3D game in this jam and struggled quite a bit, but I finished it in the end.

It is a 3D parkour game called Caller IDie, in which you leap across a cityscape to escape the endlessly pursuing Agent. The player has to solve puzzles that use different buttons that signal to different objects as fast as they can before the Agent catches up. The Agent's AI learns how the player moves through the map, creating shortcuts as to never make the same mistake twice.

Despite having a rough time with it, I learned a lot of things! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/caller-idie CallerScreenshot2.png

Ludem Dare Number 8 Down!

Extremely glad to have caught this Jam after being unable to attend the previous 2. Had a pretty busy weekend but managed to knock something out for the Jam on the final day. Hope everyone had a great time!

Still can't believe I finished

What went right

The biggest win wasn't even design. It was being slightly more organized in Aseprite than I've ever been. Not much, but it's honest work (and still not that good 😅). Just enough, like naming layers and separating animations, that I didn't hate myself every time I had to make a change.

Aseprite workspace

I also kept the scope as tiny as I could, which helped a ton.

A few animations I'm proud of

Mostly just happy I broke the cycle of starting things and never finishing them.

🎮 Play it on Ludum Dare

Wi-Fix It!!!!!!

Happy to announce our game. Wi-Fix It! Where you play as a little email trying to reach the end. Do you like Super MeatBoy? Or maybe you're into speedrun. Go play then <3

Weekend Derailed: Still Playable!

Well my weekend went down the toilet and I probably spent 1/4th the time I intended to working on my game. Still, I got a pretty decent prototype done. It's not super polished, but I like the idea and think other people will like it too!

I had a few ideas, but the one I landed on was a wave defense game where your "towers" need to sense the enemies and send targeting information to the offensive structures. A survey radar would periodically ping, checking what's out there every so often. It sends its data to a narrow band radar that can lock onto a single target and ping it repeatedly. That sends its data to a turret which shoots at the signal. I got this down and it's pretty cool to see the signals propagate across the network!

At this point between interrupted sleep and random errands I was have a really tough time with motivation. I took a long break to hang out with friends before getting back to it. I knew I wasn't going to finish, but it was important to me that I at least saw it through. I decided the best thing I could do was just add some polish to what I had. I added some sound effects, replaced most of the placeholder art, and added a couple effects.

In the end I didn't finish what I wanted, but I didn't give up! I'm really happy with how the radar pulses look and how the core mechanic worked out. I got better at using a handful of new tools and improved at shader code.

Check it out and let me know what you think! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/$428343
