Ludum Dare 56 October 4–7, 2024

Hello there! I'm Bug!

I will be providing art for a game with one of my partners. I'm very excited, this is my first game jam.

I'm in

For the 6th time, but missed the last couple. This time I have a free weekend, so hoping to make something a bit better than previous rushed attempts.

My personal goal for this jam is to make better art, as being a solo programmer that usually gets the least attention, but I think it can help a lot to make the game appealing. Also to include a bit more content, in the form of either a more interactive UI, quests, characters, dialogue or levels, depending on what kind of game it becomes.

Tools are Unity, gimp or eraser.io for art and probably some royalty free website for sound/music unless I can make an effect myself quickly.

Mood wise I'm feeling halloween-y, but we'll see if that works with the theme. I decided not to vote on any theme this time. I'm happy to go with whatever it ends up being, everything seems like it could be inspirational.

Edit (Monday, 11pm):

I guess I ran out of time for the Jam this time, My scope was too large for me and am still in the asset creation stage. I will target the extra format instead and aim to submit in a week, hopefully that will still receive ratings.

Ohhh shit, this is happening again... <3

I'm in

11th Ludum Dare in a row! Let's get it!

FOSS

I'm thrilled to see so many posters using FOSS. My whole suite for my first LD is FOSS, with the exception of BeepBox, which is a free online composition tool for 8-bit sound. Close enough to FOSS to be worth using.

Weapons of choice are Fossa (Ub20LTS), Blender, GIMP, Audacity, BeepBox, SimpleScreenRecorder and PulseAudio.

Can you hear the war drums? Only a few moments remain. Good skill to you all; luck has no power here.

A little warm up!

Got excited and wanted to try out parallaxes. Found my spotify playlist named Ludum dare 27! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5J22KDIjDGi3zHmjcZ9q4N?si=e60c9613cb334a21

Super ready to go now!

1 minute!

I'm excited for this ludum dare and hopeful on the theme being good!

We're in...

Myself and longtime collaborator @super-hadoken shall be attempting a game of some description this weekend. Powered by: Phaser, pixel art, coffee, cookies and blind enthusiasm.

LFG

Warthogz are in

Oink Oink Oink ! The Warthogz are in deeper than ever before. We’ll be cooking up some hogtastic piggery using the open source Bevy engine, Aseprite and Fl Studio.

This is my First Ludum Dare

I'm not looking to win, I just want to make a fun game.

And can someone explain to me how this website works?

I'm in for my first compo?

Tools I'll be using are Unity, VS studio, Krita for hand-drawn sprites, and also audacity for sounds.

I'm live!

Greetings!

I saw somebody else do this so I thought why not... I'm livestreaming LD 56 (as usual) on my youtube! come say hi if you got time!

(idk how to embed links and stuff sorry :( but the channel name is JustHexyl)

Let's go!

Super psyched to get something done this time! "Tiny creatures" I hadn't brainstormed about, but I did vote for it!

Tiny Creatures!!

I love this theme! There's gonna be some bugs in this game (:

Not gonna lie...

I do actually really like this theme!

Tiny Creatures - And other Ideas

As usual it was the one I wasn't expecting, not sure if I'll be able to create an ant army in 2 days, maybe something simpler.

Here are the ideas I quickly tried out while awaiting the theme announcment.
