For this Ludum Dare, I participated with a friend who made the music. I'm pretty happy with how the game turned out, although I wish we had more time to create more levels. In any case, link your games and I'll play them.. (I might stream later, this weekend perhaps).. and try our game!!
I know everyone prefers WebGL games as it doesn't require any download so I did it !
I used to have issues with washed out colors in WebGL but now it's fixed !

This Ludum Dare was intense! I was convinced until the very last moment that I wouldn't be able to finish the game, but it all worked out in the end :)
Gameplay-wise, it's an idle game where you create small creatures, but the main idea was to combine the aesthetics of an old PC with a board game. I think I managed to achieve that, and I invite everyone to give it a try!

Initially, I planned to make a simple tower defense game. However, I realized that the creatures I had designed were too random, and enemies could bypass my defenders even if my army was massive. So, I pivoted the idea, and now the goal is just to meet a quota. That part was easy to implement, but balancing the game turned out to be a real challenge.
Here’s my favorite gif of a bug that I actually kind of like.

It's been so fun watching people go HAM for Sammich Y'all's kind words and thoughtful feedback have heartwarming, and it has been so fun watching strategies evolve as the leaderboard has been filling up!

This was our first game and the idea for it is quite ambitious for Game Jam. So... there were several bugs, but not too scary.
For those who do not know, this is a roguelike simulator of bacteria in the human body! With a lot of upgrades and two characters. There are also four different locations in the game. The main bugs were related to the second character, the twins. There were also funny bugs - large pieces of food had less health than small ones, and rare upgrades were more common than standard upgrades. The game code decided to make fun of us...

In the past ~20 hours, I dove deep into some truly amazing entries, packed with action, emotion and intellectual challenges.
