yeah man, let’s do this! :-)

I’m in

LDFW: A simple HTML5 + Canvas Framework for Games

I decided to do more preparations than the last time I attended Ludum Dare (#24), so I started working on a simple game framework for HTML5 + Canvas a couple of hours ago. Its structure is pretty much like LibGDX, so the API is pretty similar.

It has a preloader for JSON and images, so that you can easily load assets from your server. It has simple classes like Game, Screen, Stage, Actor and Sprite. Pretty straight forward, I think this is a good basis for a framework. I also built a good buildchain around it using Grunt, Browserify and CoffeeScript

Check out the source code on Github

So far – good luck everyone and see you tomorrow. I think it’s time for a beer now. :)

Another first participant…

This is my first crack at Ludum Dare!  I’m going for the competition, and I’m seriously excited.  I’m not going to livestream this, but I’ll be tweeting from @mossdogmusic.

Past game jam experience: Global Game Jam 2011 and 2012, Iamagamer.ca, and more SpeedIF (text adventures) than you can shake a stick at.  (Unless you really like shaking sticks.)

My planned tool set:

Engine: GameMaker Studio -or- Twine (depending on the theme)

Graphics: Paint.NET, Inkscape, or handdrawn/scanned

Audio work: Sibelius, Audacity

I’m not the only Twine user ! \o/

In!

I am in again!

Flash Develop linked with Adobe Flash CS5, GIMP, Audacity, as3sfxr, plus some random music generation website/software at the last minute while panicking.

Here is a link to my starting framework.

I’ll give it another go.

I’ve made two attempts at this before. I’ll just keep at it until I finally succeed. I’ll probably be using love2d, or possibly Corona SDK depending upon what my idea is. I think I would like to try producing graphics by taking photographs of found objects and editing them in GIMP. For music I have a midi controller, an analog synth, and a copy of Renoise. Good luck to all.

Base code usage

You can find my base code on github:

http://www.github.com/g–o/LudumDare

Feel free to learn, do not copy.

It’s my first time joining the solo comp, But yup P:

Gonna use C++ and DirectX for this entry (Using Visual C++ Express 2010 ) with some base code I’ve written.

Probably use GIMP for my shitty graphics

first time trying to make 2d graphics, learned a techinque or two but don’t know if I’d manage to execute them.

I hope something good will get out of it because I’d have to front my lazyness and exceptional skills of making bugs and shitty graphics…

IN SHORT: Wish me luck 😛

Happy LudumDare 27 :)

I’m in!

I’ll be doing my best to complete in this LD (my fourth). I will try to create a simple game that I can complete (in a polished state) in way less than 48 hours (my three week old son won’t allow me to spend much time on this, plus I’m so tired I’m gonna need my nightly sleep).

I’ll be using:

  • * GameMaker Studio (probably the only tool that would allow me to create a game in the time I have available)
  • * Gimp, GM S’s built in editor, InkScape or Pyxel Edit for graphics (haven’t used InkScape or Pyxel Edit so I might play it safe and not use them)
  • * Bfxr for sounds effects
  • * Pixi Tracker for music probably

It’s going to be weird

After missing the competition by a day for the past few years, I’ve finally got the weekend lined up to give it a go. Let’s see how it turns out! This will be my first time actually participating.

I probably won’t decide on language or software till the theme gets announced and the brainstorming for game idea is all done.

LF some inspiration then G2G!!! :))

Sorry making an MMORPG reference in the title :P. I’m trying to prep myself in the next 9 hours 😛 Not only am I using Unity, which I am a novice at, but I am also using the Orthello framework, which I had not so much as heard of until last night :). This Ludum Dare will be a feat of strength for me, using two tools I am not familiar with. In the mean time I’ll just chill with my World of Warcraft shirt on waiting for the 9 hours to run out :P.

We are in!

Our second participation!

Here is our last game LD26!

This time we have four members in our team

Carolina Porfirio – Art (2D & 3D)
Rodrigo Nietiedt – Programming (C#)  and Art (2D & 3D)
Gustavo Marangon – Programming (C#)
Roni Silva – Programming (C#)

Great Jam for everyone! =D

Second Time In

Weekend will be a bit of a mess. Not sure how much time I’ll have. I think I’ll stick to compo rules, but if I feel like I need more time, I’ll submit for the Jam instead and take an extra day.

I’ll be making my game using:

Engine: Unity (Indie)

Art Assets: Flash & Photoshop, Uni2D (for animation)

Music & Sounds: FL Studios Mobile

Had fun during last LD, looking forward to trying again.

hello my friends i am here

i will be making something over the weekend. i actually have no idea what i’m going to be making, other than that it can vaguely be called a game. hopefully. yay not having plans until the competition actually starts!

anyway, i’ll be using gamemaker studio, bfxr, paint tool sai, and schism tracker as per usual

so anyway this is my reaction to a ludum dare: \:D/

yep

now imma do stuff. goodbye my friends i am gone.

I will do this thing.

But let’s get one thing straight: I’m not doing it for you.

Nah, but I’m totally doing it for you, I was messing. Been mucking about with Unity, gonna take a shot at a realish game with it.

I’m in!

Heyo!

I will be using XNA, C#, possibly SFXR and umm.. yeah, nothing else comes to my mind.

My base-library can be found here: https://github.com/JaakkoLipsanen/Flai

I’m in, y’all

Really, really going to try and finish something this time around. I’ll be using Unity as my engine, and Photoshop in the event that I find time to make some decent art assets. For sound effects I’ll fire up sfxr. If I get around to music, I’ll either pull out the acoustic guitar and record something into GarageBand or make something in FamiTracker.

We’re In

We’re in for the Jam for the nth time.

Our base code, the Tank Engine, can be found on github. Of course, anyone is free to use Tank if they like, but unfortunately it still lacks complete documentation or any form of input handling, so I wouldn’t advise it.

Other tools may include GIMP, Photoshop, vim, zynaddsubfx, ardour, twitter, a barbeque, giving up.

Clear for Launch

Long time follower, first time joiner. Equal parts inexperienced and excited.

Tools:

  • Graphics: Paint.NET, PyxelEdit, Pickle
  • Audio: Reason, GoldWave
  • Glue: Construct 2, but may change depending on how I interpret the theme. :)
  • Fuel: Clean eating. 12-hour sleep budget. Probably the hardest constraint to abide.
  • Hope: For the best.

To the battlestations!

Here’s my setup for Ludum Dare, forgot to add it to my I’m in-post
