LD27 August 23–26, 2013
Hello world! I’m entering my first Ludum Dare competition, but I’m just going to do the JAM this time.
I love web design, and what better place to make a game than the internet? I’m even going to go as far as to make it a chrome packaged app for desktop game use. I am going to make it a multiplayer minigame type thing, depending on the theme.
Here’s a list of what programs I’ll be using:
- Sublime Text 3
- Paint.NET (for sprites and whatnot)
- (Need to figure something out for sounds and music)
- Chrome (for running the extension)
Watch me as I stream the whole thing!

We’re in!
Hi all,
This is our first Ludum Dare, and second game jam as a team.
There are 6 of us:
– 2 programmers
– 2 artists/designers
– 1 musician
– 1 playtester/”team manager”
Software:
– Javascript/HTML5, Pixi.js, Notepad++ for coding
– Graphicsgale, Inkscape, Photoshop CS5
– Pxtone and logic for music production
– OBS for streaming
Speaking of which, we hope to have a livestream up soon at http://www.twitch.tv/dtapgames!

I’m in.
I’m in for a third time! Look – it says so in our Winnie the Pooh calendar.
Had a tough week looking at code for project e1e10 so going to let of some steam, panic and write some frantic code for the weekend.
Will be using
Engine: Unity
Gfx: Illustrator / Max
SFX: Bfxr
Music: Garage Band / My Guitar
Good luck everyone!
I’ll try…
Hello! I’m gonna try to do this LD, even though there are a few events in the way, such as a camping trip the week after that I need to pack for, and… umm… nothing else…
I’m a bit worried that the theme will be terrible, like “Small world” or “Minimalism”, but I like most of the themes in the Final Round.
Anyhoot, here are the tools I’ll be using:
Image Editor: GIMP – The GNU Image Manipulation Program is one of my favourite image editors of all time, for at least 3 reasons: A. It’s all free and stuff! B: It runs on Linux! C: It’s an amazing image editor!
Music: Autotracker – I might try to whip up something with some random music stuff lying around, but I’ll probably use autotracker
SFX: SFXR – The legendary sound effect generator originally written by Dr. Petter
Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Map Editor: Tiled
I’m also going to try to make a game engine in the remaining ~8 hours. When I do, I’ll post it here
Where It Happens
This is my ghetto-looking computer setup. New to the desk is the 27 inch iMac. EEK.
Cryovat is in.
Indeed I am! After two jam entries, I’m hoping to make my first compo entry this time around.
I’m excited! Almost all of the possible themes feel inspiring, and a few great weeks have fueled me with energy to do this. The pigs are greased, the Github repo is waiting, and all that remains is for the theme to be unveiled.
My entry for 26 used Impact, and I’m planning to use it again for 27. It feels like it has the right features, and the built-in level editor is great for productivity.
For coding, I will be using IntelliJ IDEA, which is hands-down the best Javascript IDE I’ve used. Git for source control and probably sfxr (again) for audio. For graphics I will probably be using a combination of Photoshop, GrafX2 and Paint.NET.
That’s it for me. Let’s do this!
Declaration of librariness
Bits and pieces
I’ve already stated I’m going to enter, but what I didn’t state is that I may use my C++/SFML game framework.
Source can be found here, feel free to steal it if you want but it’s not completed, or even really tested, so your mileage may vary. Credit would be nice, too.

As is custom to the ludum dare’s here is my “im in” post
Sorry i’m a bit late to the party, it’s a unessary story so i wont say.
Jumping on the Java wagon using eclipse
Graphics will be Paint.net and Gimp(I usally use gimp just for text graphics)
Still working on the audio(only learnt to implement it recently)
This will be my 2nd attempt first time i was completely unpreapred and still really new, but now Im prepared (sought of), but my (lets call it) “training” has been very limted due to a long story about me having to learn python more indepth which most of you might say is good but the part i learned i will problay never use again. Any who, 2nd time; wasn’t prepared last time; more prepared this time; not sure how preapered; yada yada yada…
I’m in…

First Ludum Dare – Here we go!
Hi, the name’s cy4n. Gonna be participating in my first LD today, and I’m really nervous and excited at the same time. I don’t have a lot of experience with the language and library I’ll be using (C++ and SFML) but I do have lots of past experience with Game Maker. I hope to have a lot of fun!…
Language: C++
Libraries: SFML
Images: Game Maker (sprite creator) or Microsoft Paint
Sounds: bfxr
Don’t know about music yet, though!
Good luck to everyone!
ech…. In?
my past 5 ludum dares have ended in atrocious failures.
To be honest I really have no motivation this time. Maybe I’ll surprise myself? Uh, I just want to get it over with, I tend to fantasize about the end product being all awesome and never get past basic gameplay. I’ll probably upload a black and white pong or something… something finished to my name.
Oh and I’ll be using Unity or whatever.
I’m in!
This will be my first Ludum Dare… actually my first game jam. I’ll wait until the theme is announced to decide on tools for certain, but most likely will be using either crafty.js or Unity (indie) for the engine, Pixlr or GIMP/Blender for art, and god knows what for audio… I’m new to all of these things (except for crafty.js, I’ve made a tiny game with it once before), so I look forward to a lot of learning going along with the “doing” this weekend 😉
Happy LD #27 everyone!
On the in-being of yours truly
As much as life keeps pushing me away from game development, the one thing that never fails to pull me back is Ludum Dare.
And so here I am.
Last LD’s timing was really unfortunate for me, as I was in the middle of a project with a very tight deadline. I was not even able to play a single game, but I still managed to take part and submit a little something. This time I hope to actually be around for voting, but I can’t promise anything as I just arrived in Brazil for my first vacation in years.
I’m still aiming to make the switch to full-time developer soon, and that dream exists thanks to the LD community. Even if I can’t always be as active as I’d like, coming here every few months is a tremendous joy and something that I hold very dearly.
For now all I can hope for is to have dangerous amounts of fun (/stress) joining you all for another insane weekend.
Let’s make something incredible! \o/
I’m in… kind of
As is normal with my hectic life, I have several obligations overlapping this weekend. However, I will make my best effort to enter the jam, even though I will have about half the time I would usually have. Wish me luck, because I’ll sure need it.
Language: Java
IDE: Eclipse
Graphics: Paint.NET
Sound effects: sfxr
Music: Probably not 😛
I’m in
Hello there fellow programmers. It will be my first participation in Ludum Dare! Let’s hope it’ll go well.
The tools, languages and libraries I’ll be using are:
- Language: Haxe
- Libaries: HaxeFlixel, HaxeFlixel-addons and HaxeFlixel-ui (all from git sources)
- IDE: FlashDevelop Beta
- Image editor: paint.NET / inkscape
- SFX: BFXR
- Music: Pixitracker
- Map editor: Tiled
Aaaannnd that’s all, I guess…
Let’s have a good LD everyone!
Care to come for a quick review?
This is my second LD, and first LD I will be livestreaming. If you could come see me in the stream and tell me how the image quality is, is there any lag, and so forth, how the facecam looks, I would be really happy
Note; I am playing music but not very loud. Mostly electronic. If you dislike it, you can always mute the stream. I may change it to personal only, so no music will be in the stream.
See you there
First Ludum Dare
Hi !
First ludum dare for a friend and I.
We’ll be using Unity3D and hope to achieive something that will run at the end of the jam.
Good luck & have fun
My second LDD – I’m in
Hi, everyone! This is my second LDD. My first one was last year. I had quite a struggling time at that time. This time I will try to take what I experienced at that time and make something greater. I am going to spend most of my time on Unity (game engine), Blender and Gimp (graphic), and using SFXR for sound effect. As for music, I am still not sure yet. But I will try to my best to not let go of music.
About 7 hours left until the opening, I’m really looking forward to it. Good luck, everybody!
