LD28 December 13–16, 2013

Yet another obligatory “I’m in!” post.

I’m thinking I’ll be using OpenFL and haxe in FlashDevelop this time, with any number of haxelib libraries depending on the theme. I’ll Gimp or Paint.NET for graphics, and either MilkyTracker, bfxr or my own recordings for sound and music.

I’m in for my Second LD

I’ll be back again for my second LD.

What I’ll be using:

  • Coding and Engine – Unity3D.
  • Graphics – Photoshop and Inkscape.
  • Audio and Music – FL Studio.

Aim’s:

  • Being just as Inventive as my previous LD Game.
  • Work more on the 2D aspect of gaming (Though that will depend on the theme I get.)
  • Get more time to Test the game itself.
  • Hope for an Awesome theme

From this Ludum Dare I’m hoping to working balancing the different areas of the Game Development process out so I can get a functionally strong game with good graphics and audio, rather than last time where I spent loads of time planning and only on the last part of the Saturday did I have a somewhat playable game.

So hopefully I should have a better game than I previously did.

Good luck everyone.

Luke Parker

I’m in

I’ll be using C++, SDL, OpenGL, Lua, built on MinGW and emscripten.

I hope to have a great round!

We’re in!

Hi,

This will be my first LD and I’m quite excited about it!

I’ll be doing the jam with a bunch of friends ’cause the more the merrier :-)

For development we’ll be using Haxe as our programming language. For the rest of the toolbox, well, improvisation is the key! Expect the usual suspects though (Photoshop, Notepad++, Audacity maybe?).

Just have to wait a couple of rounds for the theme to be announced now…

Good luck everyone and have fun!

Martin

I hope I can join

I’ll have class the whole day saturday, but maybe I can get something done using the rest of the time.

Tools:

Engine: Unity.

Language: C#.

Coding: Visual Studio.

Art: Paint.NET, maybe Blender.

Sound:  sfxr and whatever I can use to make music.

We’re in!

123

Hello, guys. We’re a team of 4 men from Moscow, Russia and this is our first LD. We’re very happy about it and we’re tingling in anticipation of that event. This time we’re gonna join Jam and use the following things:

Coding: Monogame(C#) on Visual Studio 2010

Art: Aseprite, Photoshop, probably Blender (It depends, you know)

Sound: Fruity Loops, BFXR

Source version control: Git

I’m in

Determined to actually finish something this time and will no longer be using Java. Actually really excited as I’m far more confident in my own abilities now.

Will be using:

Unity (C#)

MonoDevelop

Blender (maybe), Inkscape, GIMP (maybe), graphics gale (maybe)

sfxr/bfxr, LMMS, maybe musagi and whatever  else I can get my hands on.

I’m in!

Well, this will be interesting. Normally I enter LD as part of a group, but this time I will be going solo and for the first time, will be joining the compo. So without further ado, these are my weapons:

  • Unity 2d (C#)
  • Paint.Net / Gimp
  • Audacity

Best luck for everyone!

I’m in!

Hi!

Motivations:

  • For fun

Tools:

  • Unity3d, C#

Of course i want!

If anyone needs a music composer/producer

I’m here! I’m pretty well-versed in music theory and production and would like to start doing music for indie projects. I don’t have much of a resume but I work under the artist name “Balmy” and I’ll post some of my works below. It’s all experimental hip hop/jazz fusion/spacey, and has a bit of tape/vinyl-ish vibe and it’s ALL composed, the only things that are samples are the occasional found sounds for percussion. I usually record those myself as well. It’s rhythmically hip hop but very synthy and pretty, sometimes ambient, sometimes exotic, sometimes whatever else, and I don’t have to do hip hop when I work with your game. I’m actually expecting not to. I’m capable of setting whatever mood. Hit me up if you’re interested!

Imperial College Represent!

Well, it’s been a year since my first Ludum Dare entry and I finally have time to take part again. This year I’m moving away from XNA due to it being a pain for people to play my game. Instead, I plan to use the following:

Engine: Unity2D/C#

Art: Paint (yes, MS Paint)

Sound: Audacity or maybe BFXR

Little scared, as its been a while since I flexed my C# muscles properly, and Unity2D is still super new and I only know the basic Unity3D workflow. But I will soldier on! And at least this time, I will have a web based version of my game (plus Linux, boo yah).

Oh and finally I will be streaming my efforts LIVE from the Imperial College London computing labs, along with the fellow Computing/Physics/EEE students that join me for the event from my Twitch channel, http://www.twitch.tv/chavtw.

Get hype!

Happy Ludum Dare! And may the odds be ever in your favor!

This basically sums it up!
I’m in, and wish all of you good luck!

After my failure of last time (I ended up with a game, which was really cool (I think) but when compiled…. It took a version from saturday (Yeah… really(I like parentheses btw))) I decided to switch it around, no more Java! heck! no more compiling!
Soooo, what am I exactly going to do?

platform: HTML5, javaScript
editor: Sublime Text 3, VIM
Music: sfxr, audacity, (linux multimedia studio), guitar, harmonica, keyboard!
Graphics: Pinta! Inkscape, and maybe trying synfig studio

Do I have any Game ideas? NO!
am I going to finish a game? YES! assuming I could finish it… but yeah.

but for the meantime:

HAPPY LUDUM DARE! AND MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOR!

I’m going!

I’ll be taking part in this (my 2nd) Ludum Dare!
This time I’ll be trying some new things I thought about doing and some more interesting features to my game.
I’ll be using the following programs:

  • Engine: Multimedia Fusion 2 “I may also use The Games Factory 2 if I plan on going into web development, which I’ll probably do.

  • Artwork: PyxelEdit – for tilesets and all that jazz.

Paint.NET – for larger and more complex stuff and editing existing art.

And the internal MMF2 editor – for minor edits and animations.

As you may see, I mostly want my games to have an above the average artstyle. Mostly because of my taste.

  • Music: FL Studio 11 – for the music “I make” and the majority of raw sounds in-game.

Audacity – editing sounds and the titles and data for the soundtrack. + Converting.

N.B: A friend of mine is going to be writing the music for my game,  for which I am very thankful.

  • Streaming (50% of the time): I’ll be streaming most of the time on Twitch.tv! I’ll have some friends on the call to  help me and have some company while I’ m workin’ :)

Thanks for reading and get hyped!

You have my sword!

I’ll join the compo this time, too. The theme reveal will probably find me coming back from my company’s Christmas supper, which means a surge of enhanced creativity just before going to bed (and a potential hangover on Saturday morning) 😀

I’m still undecided about the language/engine to use. I would like to use Unity2D + C# this time, but I may end up using Actionscript 3 again, I guess it’ll depend on the theme and my own mood, of course. In the latter case I’ll probably reuse the starting codebase from my previous entry (Sources here). Other than that, for graphics and sound I’ll resort to the usual suspects:

  • Art: Photoshop, possibly TexturePacker.
  • Sound: bfxr, Audacity, and if I manage to add music this time, I guess that OpenMPT will join the team as well.

PS: Pleasepleaseplease, NOT Bieber! If I have to sacrifice The Hobbit’s opening weekend, it should be for a better theme than that!

Ludum Dare 28

This is my second time, Last time being a jam but reading the rules I think I can go for the 48 hours.

I’ll be using Unity for the base Engine.

3ds Max for level assets and creation.

Photoshop for texturing, etc.

Code Library/Base will be using the default included in Unity with my own code as it goes and is needed.

All coding queries will be solved using the wiki (http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/index.html)

I’m primarily a level designer and environment artist though I’ll still try my luck out this second time round.

Third time’s the charm!

In other words, I’m in again. Last time I had to drop out; let’s hope fortune will be kinder to me this time. As for my tools:

Engine: Unity/C# or Flixel, depending on how much time I get to practice with Unity this week.
Graphics: Blender if 3D, Pickle if 2D, plus Photoshop CS2 or GIMP for additional stuff.
Sound: bfxr and OpenMPT or Musagi.

P.S.: we need to slaughter more. “Free 2 Play”, “Bieber 4evar” and “downvote me”, really?

I’m In (plus some free Christmas music)

Hey guys, I’ll be joining the fun again. LD27 was my first real attempt at making a game and it went far better than I expected, so I’m back for more. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s entries. I’ll be using Unity, PyxelEdit, Photoshop, and Reason.

On a different note, some friends and I just put out a Christmas album. Everything is in Spanish (via online translation) and all the vocals are text-to-speech, because that’s what Christmas should sound like. It will make all your dreams come true and solve most of the world’s problems. Check it out.

I’m in!

This time around it looks like I’ll be doing the compo, and doing it solo due to holiday festivities keeping my buddies occupied.

I’ll be using Unity3D as the engine.  Using C#.
Blender for 3D graphics.
GIMP for 2D.
Sfxr for sounds.
Possibly GarageBand for music.

I’m in this time!

Well, this time i’ll try finishing a game. Gonna use these tools:

  • Unity3D (with its 2D functions) or C++ 11 (or .NET) with SFML.
  • MonoDevelop or Visual Studio as code editor.
  • Paint .NET or Inscape for 2D graphics, Blender/Sculpris/Pixexis for 3D.
  • Audacity, bfxr for sounds.
  • GitHub for source code storage.

I also made a game for the warmup weekend, you can play it here.
