Looking forward to another LD. This will be my fourth one.
I will be using Phothshop CS5 for art, the Eclipse IDE with Java, My own open source game engine/framework which can be found here, and for music I will try to use This Thing and possibly something else to edit and record sounds. I will also be using BitBucket as a git repo.
This is my second time.
Code: C++, Visual Studio, Bleed (https://bitbucket.org/ezolotko/bleed) – my little C++ wrapper above SDL.
Graphics: “Attribute Blocks Editor” – a little program I wrote to create ZX-Spectrum like graphics – in the same repository as Bleed above; Paint.NET.
Sound: Sunvox, Bfxr.

Another Ludum Dare, another fancy preloader.
I had success using Haxe + NME last Ludum Dare, so I’m planning to use the same combination again, I’ll also be using much of the same base code. In addition to this I’ve derived some base code from parts of my LD#27 entry which will give me some basic flixel-like functionality, I may not use all the code but I’m announcing it here in case I do.
You can download all the base code from here. An overview of the LD#27 base code I’ll be re-using can be found here, the new additions consist of the following:
ld.Entity
An object which exists in the game, can be text, a single image or an animated sprite. Has very basic collision detection and very simple collision resolution.
ld.Group
Can contain a number of entities. Handles the updating of each of its child entities’ logic, their collision, and the drawing of the entities each frame.
ld.Tilemap
A basic tilemap implementation. Handles loading a tilemap and displaying it on the screen, handles collision with an entity based on the tiles it could be overlapping with.
ld.Tmx
Parses Tiled CSV files (.tmx) into an object. This makes loading all the objects and the tilemap from a .tmx file a lot easier.
I posted this for facebook friends. Thought I would extend the invitation to fellow jammers.
I’ll make YOUR game idea… sorta.

Who we are
We are team of ~4 people from Latvia and to our knowledge its first team/jam/ludumdare run from Latvia.
Core of the team are guys from http://mightyfingers.com/ startup who are building their HTML5 game framework!
Some of us have participated in LD since 2008, some didn’t participate yet but we all have some game dev experience.
What we will use
We definitely will use HTML5 MigthyEngine for programming/game dev.
Photoshop for graphics.
Autotracker/SFXR for sounds.
Warmup
Today we did a warmup session building simple breakanoid and we did test timelapse too ![]()

I will live stream development here: http://www.twitch.tv/morgangb
More stuff:
Never done a Ludum Dare before! Should be interesting!
Hey, I’m in once again! I took part in Ludum Dare 26 and 27, making Barren Universe and Escape the Underground. This time round I’d really like to make a different style of game…
This time I’ll be using:
I hope you don’t mind, but I’d like to mention that I’ve recently released a chiptune album, called “Growing Darkness” that you might like. Instead of making games like I should’ve been, I made a whole bunch of music instead. It’s only £3, which is quite the bargain!
Good luck everyone, and have fun!
Just an update to say I’m definitely in AND to list my tools.
I’ve no time, apols for the rhyme, time to go dine
Tools of the trade:
Base code is available, with warmest regards!

Alright, I think it is time I sit down and make a game. I haven’t made one since my undergraduate days, when one of my Java labs required us to create a simple tic-tac-toe game. Anyway, right now I am learning how to use a few tools, getting some ideas and will try to create a few little games over the next week, just to make sure I know enough to get something done.
Anyway, I have only looked at a few tools so far, so my plans might change, but right now I am planning on using these:
Language: Java and LibGDX
IDE: Eclipse
Platforms: Desktop and Android
Sound and Music: OpenMPT
Graphics: Aseprite
Hi
I’m arrogant.gamer, you may know me from such games as Mandala and Signal. I will be entering Ludum Dare 28, and will be using Quintus to make some sweet sweet browser fruits. My hope is that the theme will be inspiring. I’ve quite liked the last two themes (though I didn’t make a 10 second game), and found them both flexible and inspiring. That being said, I hope to make a tile-based RPG or a rogue-like, since I haven’t done that but have about 30 years worth of ideas backed up in my brain meat.
In order to get ready, I’ve decided to sit down and hack out some small relatively un-creative game. I just learned about Quintus a week or so ago, but am already in love. You see, by trade I am a student super junior intern web-developer. I use BackboneJS to make client-side applications, which are kind of like boring video games ^o^//. When coding in JS, I tend to make heavy use of events in order to reduce coupling between modules. In a perfect world, I would like there to be no references between different parts of a web-site’s working bits. So, for example, if there is a list of art galleries and a google map frame on a page together, in my world this will probably end up being, a layout class wrapping the map and the list separately. The layout class has a reference to the map, and one to the list, but when they want to communicate with each-other they have to do so by announcing data to the layout. The list has references to its list items, but the list items have to announce data to the list. The result is strictly API based interactions everywhere, which in theory means I can swap components out with ease.
Whoa! Boring! Anyway: Quintus is like that. They have the same kind of philosophy, and I think that’s a great fit. With any luck, it will also be a performant and cross-platform fit!
I’m hoping to make something with an NES tilesheet, and maybe some sound-effects that I will record myself, with my voice. Probably some cats meowing?
What I’m saying is: I’m in!
z.
Again, I will try to come up with something for this LD. I’ll take part in the compo using:
Code: Java + libgdx
2d/3d: Paint.net, Pixexix, Sketchbook Pro, Milkshape 3d, Spine, Radiant
Sound: Wavosaur, Ableton Live
Misc: git (github)
If I decide to use a basecode it will be available as such on my github.
If I can’t come up with an idea I’m still up for the jam (if anyone’s intersted)
Speciality: Audio-guy (can do code, pixelart and maps as well)
Timezone: Europe, GMT+1
Country: Austria
Although I could just resubmit my old entry, but on and easier difficulty setting.
Hi!
My name is Martin a.k.a Dramentiaras and I’m happy to announce that I will be participating in Ludum Dare 28!
I’m a 14 year old boy from sweden and I’ve been programming for about three years and I think I’m ready. As you might have guessed this is my first Ludum Dare.
I will be using Java as it is my primary programming language. I will make some sweet graphics in Paint.NET and the sounds will be made through sfxr as well as Audacity. Lwjgl (utility library included) as well as slick will be my primary libraries and I do not think I will be using any others. I’m really looking forward to play the fantastic games that will be released throughout the weekend 14-16 and I will take my time to play as many of them as possible!
Feel free to follow me on twitter: @Martinoinez as I will be tweeting alot during the 48 hours and probably alot before and after that as well.
I’m really excited for the LD and I think it’s going to be great!
Cya!
Oops, I forgot to make an “I’m in” post.
I’m in!
It will be an interesting LD, because I haven’t made games for a while. Let’s see if I’ll do worse or better.
I won’t participate in warmup, I participated in the last MiniLD.
Tools:

Lua-based Jet Car
I’ve bound part of the Colorado graphics classes to Lua, along with just enough SDL2 and OpenGL to draw the jet car model.
I’ll be entering for Debian GNU/Linux Testing and Windows XP 32-bit, with SDL2, OpenGL 2, Lua 5.2, and the Colorado graphics classes.
I’m in again folks! Ludum Dare 28 hey? How times flies. I’m unsure as to the shape of the flying object, be it a bird, a plane, or a Copyrighted Mascot, but it’s flying none the less. Unless you prefer your time to flow as opposed to fly, but I digress.
This year sure has been an “interesting” one for me. Recent graduation, the delve into some more serious game dev being bunted by several in real life issues but I can certainly say I’ve learnt a LOT these past few months about the worlds we all live in. I’ve been partaking in the One Game a Month Jam for each month of the year, and this will mark my last submission for 2013. It’s certainly been a learning experience, and whilst the majority of my games this year have been “Nano-Games” I’ve still learnt a great deal from the experience. Ah yes, learning, did I mention that? I guess I did.
If you’re interested in checking out the games I’ve made prior to this LD jam, you can find them up here at http://www.onegameamonth.com/MthisG . Beyond this however, we also got a website set up, which is going under a third revision which also has a ton of games posted up. Not all my submissions have been put up and there’s still Fahzor’s Getrudis to be posted up on a page, but you can check all of those games out (Fahzor’s little dealio is found here at http://getrudis.com/ , and the rest of my Solo projects are here at http://studio-anjin.co.uk/solo.html ). Come along! Play some games! Break some games! It’s all cool!
But yes, back to Ludum Dare.
I’m really, REALLY Hyped for this LD. It’s the final contest of the year, and I’m going in guns blazing for this one. Being the last major game dev jam going on this year, it feels right to put the best foot forth and show the world what we all have as developers, and show everyone our progress throughout the year in this one big firework of the year. I’ve been getting into gear, checking my arrays and lists twice over, and getting to grips with a basic do-it-all framework that handles a lot of the non dev stuff like display windows and whatnot prior to the start date. The software I’ll be using for the Jam are a follows;
Game Maker Studio (GML – C based language engineered for more game devery stuffs)
FL Studios (Music composition and Sound effect creation)
Audacity (Sound editing and mastering)
Graphics Gale (Graphical asset design and pixel art)
Gimp (Same as above)
Adobe Flash (Same as above)
Twitch.tv (I’ll be streaming whenever I can, over at http://www.twitch.tv/neonlare , in fact I’ll be booting up a stream shortly for preliminary work)
I’m going to be doing something slightly different for this LD. Instead of deciding on a genre and working on the framework ON the announcement of the theme, I’ll be working on a BASIC framework and deciding a Genre to stick with, and incorporating the theme into this framework. When I say framework, I’m generally just talking windows, menus, and the stuff that really shouldn’t be eating up the dev time of a project. I’ll see you guys around, and good luck with your submissions! I look forward to playing through them all~
Hi there,
This time is my second LD and I am looking forward to it.
The tools of the trade are C#, Visual Studio 2012, SFML.Net 2.1, aseprite and Cubase. I am planning for a retro/pixel style 2D game.
The warmup weekend was spent with some friends from a local regulars’ table on game dev. Some great long term projects here.
My team mate and I prepared our solutions and folders, so we are ready to start right away next weekend.
Since I am not quite happy with the timelapse programs available, I wrote my own using C#. Its special function is that the snapshot interval depends on the currently active window. Since it is not neccessary to take pictures writing the code every 5 seconds it is great to have some higher resolution on doing sound or even graphics.
If anyone is interested I would be happy to share the program.
So I hope everyone has a great time next weekend!
Laguna
It looks like a very interesting (simple and user-friendly) soft, but I don’t know how to compile :/
