In The Spirit Of The Compo

I’ve started a github repo for my compo code, and I’m currently using it to make a little engine as warm-up. I may scrap everything I have, or keep bits of it, but if I remember the rules correctly I think I’m supposed to publish all my pre-existing code before the compo starts.

Super minimal. Using Love2D with anim8 and a slightly modified version of SECS. I also included SECL, but I’m not sure I’ll end up using it, since I’m mostly relying on SECSy entities and systems for now.

Started using it to build a discrete hex-based physics estimator (it certainly can’t be called a simulator…)

I’m in! also hopefully my profile page works now!

I’m just writing a post so that my profile page works. If you haven’t written a post like this, it’ll just say “NOT FOUND” when you go to your profile. Which is sad. So, that’s why I’m typing this. Hello.

I’m in, no idea whats gonna happen but why not.

Love these events but never had time to join in, this time though its a different matter as I have made the time for it.

Will be using Unity and will choose the other software at the start of the event.

Good Luck to all!

I finished my first game to get ready for the dare!

Exit Stage Left!

Give it a try if you wanna have an excessive amount of fun thrown at ya face. Feedback appreciated.

Can’t wait to jam it out with my friends it should be a hoot!

Good job finishing your first game. Bit of advice, even though it may seem obvious to you the creator, you should consider the people playing. It took me about 2 minutes to figure out I needed to double jump and hit the purple square to start the game. Other than that, keep up the good work and have a blast with the Jam this weekend.

I’m In

This is my first time participating in a Ludum Dare
I’ve managed to make a game in under 6 hours before, but it was small and I had planned out the game before the 6 hours.
Here are the tools that I’m gonna be using,

Game Engine: GameMaker Studio Pro/Clickteam Fusion 2.5 Pro (UNDECIDED)
Art: Photoshop, Paint.NET
Audio: FL Studio 12, Sfxr, Bfxr
Screencast: OBS
I won’t be streaming, but I will be recording it and making a timelapse!

Good luck to all!

We’re jammIN’

I’m in for the jam along with my cousin and another colleague from work. We’ll be joining the Johannesburg real world gathering organised by Make Games SA on Saturday and Sunday.

We’ll be using the following:

  • Language: C#
  • Engine: Unity 5
  • Graphics: GIMP & InkScape, we’ll likely use some free game art if we can find anything applicable to the game we end up making
  • Sound: BFXR & Audacity, possibly recording some of our own audio

Looking forward to this one as it’ll be our second time using Unity and I’ve done a tech demo or two since the LD32, so we have a much better idea what we’re doing this time around.

First post, and I’m in again

It’s my first post here, and it’s so exiting to share my enjoy with you !

I’m in for the 4th or 5th time, but it’s the first time, I will use my own framework.

Music : LMMS and Audacity

Graphics : Inkscape and Gimp

OS : Linux or maybe Windows I don’t know, I prefer Linux (XUbuntu)

Language : Java

Game Engine : SCEngine (use LWJGL 2.9.3) my framework

Good luck all !

I’m In

First time doing Ludum Dare, although not the first time doing a game jam. I am really excited to get started as I haven’t really made anything of note in the last few months.

Tools:

Language : C(GCC)

Text editor : Notepad++

Graphical editor: GIMP

Music : LMMS

OS : Windows

Libraries : SDL2, SDL_Image, SDL_Mixer, SDL_ttf and jansson.

Best of luck to everybody taking part!

I’m In!

This will be my first time entering the game jam possibly with the help of some friends. I have never actually made a game I could say was complete so this might be my first which will be interesting, but it will be fun to take part anyway.

Good luck everyone! :)

How was the wallpaper generated? I can guess at several approaches, from genetic algorithms to noise, so we must be told your recipe :)

We’re In!

We had a blast during LD #32 and decided to jam again for LD #33! Previously, I’ve stuck to Python and C++, but this time we’re branching out to something web-playable – namely, Javascript using Phaser.

Being totally new to both, however, we thought it wise (and it was) to do a  warmup last weekend. And with the overlapping GBJam as our theme, we kind of hit two birds with one stone. Check out what we came up with over on gamejolt why not :)

We’re pumped and ready to go – happy jamming, everyone!
