LD33 August 21–24, 2015

I’m in.

This will be my first ever game jam, so hopefully I embarrass myself.

I also hope this is how one is supposed to register for this event.

Tools:

  • Code: C#
  • Engine: Unity 5
  • Graphics: GIMP and possibly Blender
  • Music: I have no Idea
  • Sounds: Audacity

I have no idea what I am doing.

The first one always sucks the most I think! Just hang in there :)

An I’m in post is about the closest thing to registering for LD that there is.

I am in! First time!

Dear developers and gamers,

I am very happy to finally (without catch block) participate on this beautiful event.  I know ludum dare since a couple of years and I always wanted to join. As we all now sometimes life has other plans with us, but now I hope the time has come to open a new chapter for ludum dare. For my self I am a software developer since a couple of years now and I hope I will use my experience in the right way.

For your information here is my skillset and tools I maybe are going to use:

  • C#
  • Unity 3D
  • Blender 3D
  • Gimp
  • Real guitar

I really hope I will be able to include some real music from the guitar, since music is a beautiful element in games.

I wish you all good luck and a lot of fun during the hours of hard competition and hopeful not too many bugs. 😉

Many Greetings,

schw3de

Here Goes

I’m excited for sure! Hope the theme’s at least doable this time. <3

The last theme was bullshit, honestly. “UNUSUAL WEAPON!”, exploration games be damned :(

probably in

And probably going to be using Unity (2D) and paint.net

We are: [√] In [ ] Out

Here we are again, our second time on LudumDare Jam!

And now, Rodrigo and Zanoni will be developing a game on this issue (if not much drunk to do anything).

This time we will use UnrealEngine on c++ for the development, and try to not make the same mistakes from the last time.

For other things, we will do the same as before; use open assets at the begin (opting-out from the graphics/audio category, if so), and make sprites/audio if the time allow us (this time we will try hard to accomplish this).. So, for graphics, GIMP/inkscape , sound/music with FL Studio/Audacity/sfxr. The UnrealEngine is already running on my Linux box, but we will use MacOS/Windows as fallback, if needed. For the code, private git repo until the deadline, and github after. And as we will need to still alive, coffee, bacon and beer will do the job, as usual.

Monster Kill

Neat.

Other tools include Trello for ideas and task tracking, IRC and our Twitter account for updates on our progress.

Let’s go!

I’m in! Again!

Well, I’m in, and this time I’m feeling more prepared than ever before! This time, I have a well-defined idea of what I’ll be doing: a top-down, turn-based, stealth game.

I’ve been playing a lot of Metal Gear lately, so this game will be inspired by the series. Sneak around enemy camps, avoiding guards and cameras, stealing intel, finding equpment as you go! Or at least, that’s what I’m currently planning. It may be slightly out of scope for a weekend, but we’ll see!

Once again, I’ll be entering the solo competition. My tools:

Haxe + OpenFL + Haxepunk – my language and engine of choice (currently)

Sublime – the best text editor

sfxr – it makes sounds

Audacity – it edits sounds

Gimp – for the art

Coffee – for the mind

Good luck everyone, and remember to have fun!

About time to say “I’m In”!

Going to participate this weekend for the second time. Hopefully I can improve from last LD and raise my scores (and actually finish the game).

Tools of the Trade:

  • Unity (3d or 2d… Never worked in 2d, but 3d modeling was a beeatch of a time consumer last time with my limited knowledge)
  • Blender… well – see above…
  • Photoshop/Gimp
  • Whatever else I realize I need to use for sounds/graphics…
  • Buckets of Coffee
  • Junk Food
  • And… most importantly – a positive mindset!

I’m in, baby!

Flying solo this time :)

Using: Unity, GraphicsGale, Bosca Ceoil and CFXR.

To get into the mood, I drew BLOOD PEPESH, COMMUNIST VAMPIRE! (now with 100% more retro shaders! buy one get one free! offer void where not applicable!)

BLOOD PEPESH, COMMUNIST VAMPIRE!

I’m in?

I mean… I’m in! I think.
The engine I previously used has failed on me. So I’m going to give a new engine a try: Pixi.js!

Here’s everything I’ll be using.

Engine! Pixi.js
Language! Javascript
Sounds! sfxr
Music! Uh… I’ll… try to figure something out.
Art! Piskel

…and now I’ll have to learn how to use Pixi.js in a bit more than 2 days.

I’m hopefully in

Provided I can hit a deadline before the weekend, I’m in!

Will be using, Unity 5, Photoshop, BFXR

Good luck!

“We” are in

Hello, it will be our debut in Ludum Dare, together with Sadai:

sadai

(Sadai is after ‘Sad Ai’).

Our tools:

  • ubuntu (although its bloated 😉
  • eclipse (lets do not talk about being bloated),
  • libgdx (hm),
  • aseprite (although never used it huh),
  • gimp (zero artistic creative, same amount of talent),
  • renoise (we have a license lol),
  • ardour (this one crashes all the time),
  • coffe with soy milk (thats delicious),
  • snacks, fridge,
  • neurofunk around 175bpm (thats truly awesome),
  • night hours (days are busy).

We tried previously participate for a try using sfml and c++, but then we found playing with c++ much more exciting and developing than work on game itself 😉 So, hopefully game will be finished (Sadai wants to play main character’s role). For sure the fun expected.

New to Ludum Dare…

All new to Ludum dare, I have always had my mind made up to make a video game but I haven’t ever gotten around to it.  I think it might be good to enter… but after looking around I am a bit taken back on what I need to actually do to enter…  do I need to sign up anywhere or does just posting that I am in count?

Thinking about entering the Compo as it would force me to create it all myself from scratch ( I definitely don’t think my first game will be good or anything but it will be a great jumpstart into me actually pursuing my dream).   But I don’t understand how I would submit my entry, is it just a post here?  I am thinking its just posting screenshots and then links to the code and such here?  Is that correct?

Anyways I plan on making a HTML5 game (Javascript+CSS)… from scratch.  Will be hosting it via Github (source code as a html page)… is that normal?  This would be rather than actually hosting in on a webserver… forcing someone to download the whole page as a package and running it locally.

You “sign up” when you submit your game at the end :)

I’d advice you not to make people download your game from github and run it locally.

Hi there, and welcome! ChronusZ is correct is saying that you just submit your game when you finish it at the end. Normally there is a submission period AFTER the deadline ends for about an hour, so you’ll have a little time at the end to put in all the game info and take screenshots and whatnot.

We are in!

We are in! We being @Teamboring(Sandy), @NickSProud and myself.

This is my second Ludum Dare, my first was #32 with AlexDJones. The last one went amazingly well so this one should at least be fun.

I will be doing some programming and trying to keep us on track, Sandy will help me code and Nick is going to try his hand at 3D modelling. I suspect whoever has the idea to get us going is taking charge of the design aspects.

It may change but currently we are planning on using Unreal Unity and Blender, potentially putting the code on Github for remote sharing.

Just like Alex said before:

I’m in.

For the third time, I’m in for the compo.

Last time was a failure as I did not manage to find an interesting idea matching the theme and quickly bailed out. This time I’ll do something to the finish no matter what, even if it means being completely off topic.

Tools of the trade : JavaScript / FL Studio / Audacity / Gimp / Blender / Git(hub) / Pen and paper

Good luck everyone !

Im in :)
