I wish I had the time to add those last few levels in. Oh well. Really happy with the outcome. A big thank you to my teammate who drew all of the art even though some of it had to get scrapped.

Terraform - A Team Spontaneous Combustion entry

Right in the nick of time, we got it live (thanks @IJZM).

Asteroid Aggressors

Asteroid Aggressors is a game where you mine metal and build turrets to defend yourself while you're stranded on an asteroid deep in space! Mine up all the metal that is spawned and aliens will attack you with stronger numbers each time.

Unfortunately I got pinched on time and had to leave a few features out/skimp on existing ones, but this was my first time programming for a game jam. I learned a lot that I can apply in future game jams and projects and I hope next one is just as fun! I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did and gets a good night's rest!

What a great Ludum Dare, I've already played a couple of really interesting games. This is our 6th entry into the Jam. It was challenging, i'm glad we managed to finish something.

Finally done and submitted! (Plus a quick post-mortem)

one.PNG three.PNG

I actually finished around 5am AUSEST, but after a good sleep, I thought I would make a post about it. Here is a bit of a reflection:

Things done well

  • Art. I'm super thankful to my friend Maspenguin for providing the base sprites for the player and enemies (i then coloured the enemies). I'm also happy with how the planets turned out, thanks to http://donjon.bin.sh/scifi/world/index.cgi
  • Game design. I'm pretty happy with how the game ended up looking and feeling. Even though there are a fare few things to improve, I'm happy with the overall product.

Things done badly

  • Time management. After thinking about my ideas, I just got into designing and programming. In retrospect, I really should of have made a plan.
  • Levels. I left this to the last minute, and didn't get to implement different levels like how I originally wanted to.
  • Enemies. I originally wanted to have different health levels for different enemies, but I didn't get around to this.
  • Pizzazz. I really wanted to get some extra 'flair' into my game, with things like power-ups, and different modifiers for enemies. Unfortunately, I simply didn't have time for these.

Things to improve

  • Planning. I want to dedicate some time in my next jam to make a plan so I can prioritise certain parts of the game over other parts, helping me to create a better game overall.
  • Time management. Next LD, I want to use some time management software so that I can plan out my project better.

Here's the description:

A retro game inspired by the games like 'Space Invaders', Micro-World Defence puts you in the pilot's seat. Defend against 'Floaters', a fierce-some enemy that will stop at nothing to destroy small worlds.

iii

iii is a little metroidvania about a one-eyed cat leaving his comfort zone. Explore underground caverns, gain vision of other dimensions, help the inhabitants, and expand your horizons.

2.png

iii was a weird take on the theme "A Small World". I build the world so it would be quite small at first, but as the player progresses, they discover more and more.

5.png

I'm stupidly proud that I managed to pull this off. iii might not be totally complete, after 8 failed Ludum Dare attempts in a row, I'm super happy I got this one out. It's surprisingly one of my larger projects, which makes it even more awesome that I managed to nail it out for the jam.

Sucker Munch is LIVE and It's ALL ABOUT THE MUNCHS!

offmunch1.gif

Sucks that I didn't make up enough time to post about the development halfway through the weekend, but after 3 days of hard work and barely any sleep we managed to pull out this little twin stick arena based shooter we have fallen in love with. Sucker Munch is all about fire and munchs.

WARNING: GAME IS NOT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT SKILLS.

Just kidding please play our game and have some fun, that's the purpose of this lovely event.

NotEnoughSpace_7.gif

Hey all, now that Ludum Dare has finished and we move towards checking out each other's games I wanted to take the time to use the new sites blogging feature and post up some screens of the game we made! It was a long weekend and we almost didn't make it! Now that it is in a playable state I want to hear what others think about it, so if you have 2-4 people and have 2-4 xbox controllers (or equivalent) and a Windows PC, please check it out, maybe leave a comment, or don't it's up to you.

It's a game about launching your friends into space with bombs :bomb: :bomb:!

Perfection, Or None! is now released!

Cover.PNG The goal of the game is to save the prisoner and not lose him to the water. Simple concept is stretched to be a fun packed game so go try it out!!!

if the video looks cool go check the game out at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/perfection-or-nothing

because its released now, and ahhh the website isnt lagging anymore ;)

1,5 hours of sleep and one car ride later...

and I can finally write about the fruit of labour of the talented Beelzebox team. :triumph: The last push to get things done somewhat according to the original concept were both stressful and fun. In the last 8 hours we added sound and music, wrote AI, created the UI and a hell of a lot more. Expect peculiar bugs that we never foresaw. Create strategies we didn't account for (which is most of them), have fun and comment!

Gaia-- With Fixes

pic01.png Hey guys! After submitting my bugged entry yesterday, I've been able to fix the main problems this evening and update the game... I can finally relax :D

If you want to check out the game (it's short), click here and tell me what you think, thanks!

BTW: These entries are looking amazing from what I've seen, woo! Loving this new site as well, can't wait for the new features!!

Those damn spawn points !

Believe it or not - attaching rigid bodies to flat box colliders make them fall though the terrain... wasted a lot of time but it was all worth it.

https://clips.twitch.tv/TenaciousInventiveStarlingBleedPurple

What's next? Helping you*! Judging Friday

If you need to know how to submit, view the /news feed for other posts on that.

If you need help, contact me.

So, if you weren't around during the final hour of the Jam through Submission Hour, the site effectively went offline. It didn't actually, but having to wait 30 seconds to 10 minutes between pages, it might as well have been. This lasted for roughly 3 hours. 1 hour before the end of the event, the entirety of Submission Hour, and for nearly 1 hour after.

Some poor site performance and downtime is to be expected. We've joked for many years that the site going down is a "tradition", one we certainly kept this time. I don't know what the terminology is these days (DDOS?), but we always slashdot ourselves at the beginning and the end of the event. And you wont see that happen again until the next event.

The other problem was a bug with teams. I neglected to make it clear that only the Team Leader would be able to edit their page (for now). But the bug, if a fellow team member creates a game and adds you to their game, it confuses the website.

~~So I'm writing this post, then I'm going to bed. I'll be addressing this first-thing when I wake up tomorrow.~~

~~As a workaround if you add /edit to the game page URL, one of your team members may be able to edit their game. Also keep an eye on the page ids (i.e. the $ number). Try passing the same number around to your team. One of your members should be able to edit each one.~~

If you still have problems, reach out to me, and I will help.

When this is working, you will be free to add/remove team members from your games at any time. So if you're having issues getting everybody attached to the same game, just give it a day and try again.

EDIT 1: All team members can edit game pages now

Ok! All team members now have permission to edit game pages. This should be enough to get one of your game pages submitted.

The My game button at the to may still point to the wrong game for you. Plus it has been giving people the $41927 name of the game, rather than the nice slug name you get when you click on the title. That will be fixed soon.

Work continues...

EDIT 2

Team permissions should be fix now. My Game at the top should take you to the correct game for all team members, and should be named correctly (sorry about that). The only special feature the Team Leader has now is they are the one that adds team members. That's it.

Judging to start Friday

I hate to push back judging, but I am going to need a day to address the team issue above so that everyone that intended to submit does get to submit.

So come back Friday. We'll have cake. :cake:

Conquer the Galaxy in Planetoid Piracy!

PP5.gif

We made a game where you fly a planetoid around, destroy other planets, and take their stuff. It has fully destructible terrain, and you can build onto your own planet using pieces taken from planets you've destroyed. Parts of the game are randomly generated. The combat is very chaotic and fast-paced.

This is the third game we've made for Ludum Dare, and it's definitely the best one yet. Personally, we think this is loads of fun, and you should try it out.

Check out the game! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/$19674

Are you up to the challenge?

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Strangeness Posted

So I was able to get my game Strangeness posted, including both Mac and Windows builds.

title.png

Strangeness is a little puzzle game about a world that's too small (along the same general lines as Chip's Challenge). It's my 9th Ludlum Dare submission, but only my second using hand-designed levels instead of procedural generation (or third, depending on how you count).

level4.png

There was a bit of a learning curve figuring out how to use Tiled, and then another one figuring out how to get data out of a TMX file reliably, so I did't get as many levels done as I'd hoped for. I also think the game would have benefitted a great deal if I had been able to implement one or two additional enemy types or interactable objects. Nevertheless, I'm reasonably pleased with how things turned out.

Shout-out to to my fiancée for helping me with some of the art.

EDIT: Updated the download link for Windows, it previously contained a spelling error.

I'll play your roguelike!

If you made a roguelike, I would love to play it. I have OS X (preferred) and Windows.

Fixed bug and Added WebGL

I fixed a bug that wouldn't allow you to beat it, and also uploaded a WebGL version.

We did it! LARP High School is a go.

It was quite a weekend! Fun as always!

Link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/$27423

It's prom week at a high school for LARPers. Everything rides on you getting a date to prom. You must gain favor of students by finding their likes and avoiding their dislikes in conversation, training in classrooms to boost your stats, and befriending teachers to add them as party members.

Good luck! Let me know what you think. All feedback is welcome.

Conquer Earth Post-Mortem

Overall that was heaps of fun! This was my first solo LD (I did it as part of a team once some years ago) and boy was it rewarding! :grinning: Some of the other games on here look amazing too.

You can play the game here: http://www.edeb8.com/LD38/index.php And the LD page for it is here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/conquer-earth-1 (The LD page includes some basic instructions for the game in case it's just totally confusing)

tl;dr making this was great; I'd love feedback

General points: * I'm glad I did the jam and not the compo for my first try. It gave me more flexibility to take the big initial idea I had and just roll with it. * I'd probably want to emphasize the card aspect a little more if I was designing this from scratch. I think it could be more obvious how cards work and where they're going. * I have so much to be proud of! Yes I'm self critical (aren't we all?) but I learnt a ton and can hardly believe what I've achieved in this time.

Things that went well: * I largely stuck with my familiar tools and I think this made my work much faster. Being a web game was good too, hopefully lots of people will be able to play it. * Making the sound effects was a highlight. I mean, I wish I had a better one for when you buy something, but other than that, it was heaps of fun. * Doing it on my own as opposed to in a team was interesting. I think I coped well overall, although next time having a team would sure be nice! * Drawing the art on paper first helped me a LOT! I couldn't have done it without that support. * Given that the music was rushed in a couple of hours I think I did a really good job. I'd have liked more time to write some more in-game music, of which there is currently about 7 minutes, but I feel like what's there is great. * Somehow I don't think the final version is very buggy. This surprises me a lot. I've only spotted a couple remaining and they're not especially game-breaking.

Things to work on: * If I ever do this again, I'd want to plan my time a little more. I definitely felt like I could have used more. * To extend the thought, I spent a whole day writing AI code for this and the AI still doesn't play very intelligently. Heck I'm happy the AI can pose any challenge at all. * Designing the map also took a long time. Probably would have been faster if I had some kind of visual layout tool. Heck it took me two hours to fix a bug in the rendering of the dashed lines between the planets. * Originally the game was supposed to focus more on multiplayer anyway. In the end I had to completely drop my plans for multiplayer because the AI took so long. I also dropped one character and a bunch of faction/card ideas. * I was damn proud of the art that I drew because I'm REALLY not a good artist, but in all honesty for a game of this type I could probably have spent less time on that too. * Also I'll be super interested in my feedback for this! I have no idea how people are going to take it.

I'm VERY strongly considering making an expanded version of this game with features like balance improvements, improved AI, artwork for cards, random events, unlockable factions, more types of cards/counters (I really wanted hidden mines, outposts etc), graphical effects (like visually showing Earth explode), a tutorial, other maps...

... and most importantly, MULTIPLAYER! This game was DESIGNED to be a multiplayer game from the start but it didn't work out! I almost want to do this out of frustration alone haha. You'll see what I mean if you play the game. Anyway I'll see how my reviews go, it would kinda defeat the purpose if I was the only one interested in playing this multiplayer haha.

Before I think too much about that though, I'd say I need a break and a few days of just playing some of the other awesome games people have made!

An Odd Weekend...

It certainly was a different LD this time around. The new website felt fresh (despite the unfortunate halt near submission time), but it was exciting! Can't wait to see the future features planned.

Even though I blocked my calendar way in advance, life managed to sneak its way in. I think I was able to squeeze in about 6-8 hours of dev time for the jam this time around. Which was less than I did last time, but I was able to get about 80-90% of my vision from Friday evening implemented. I was pleasantly surprised at how things came together.

If I had a bit more time, I would want to refine the visual transition a bit. I did manage to hack a suitable cheat in the last ten minutes. I'd also do a bit more with scoring and saving splits and try and get a global leaderboard. Something to do for the future.

If you want to checkout my game its page is here.

Sentient Duality

I've already finished my Solo entry (compo-style, but 72h)!

CoveremImage/emItch.io.png

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/sentient-duality

It's about quantum entities and the wave-particle duality -- a pretty small world, right?

It's not my first game jam, but my first Ludum Dare and also the first i did solo. I learned a lot and I'm pleased with the result.

Now uploaded to itch.io to play on web

Just uploaded to itch as i was so tired last night please try out our jam game on web.

Möbius, or the only game entry to have a umlaut in it.

Möbius is an infinite runner set on Möbius strip so the level repeats upside down, making it a quite small world. Play it here

My game is complete(-ish)! The jumping is massively wonky but I may go back and fix that. First ever LD entry, learnt a lot about managing time and unity. Will definatly be partaking in the next LD.

Finally finished My Planet is Bigger!

This is my first game jam ever, and ofc my first Ludum Dare. This is also the second game I ever make and the first time i work in a team but I'm so happy with the result. I had a lot of fun programing and designing this game and I learnt so much. This is a 2D, 2 local player vs game. The game is about two planets who always rivaled about having the biggest planet in the solar system, but since they can't find a way to make their planets bigger, they decide to make the other's planet smaller! How? By throwing it asteroids with a magnet-satellite! This is a link with an updated post-Ludum version of the game with one extra awesome power up: the black hole. Made with Unity.

Warpy's World

Hi! Check out my little game created in about 28 hours for LD. This is my first LD. Missed the first two days due to a massive power outage so feeling happy to create something and being able to submit in such a short time. I didn't get time to check the game for bugs so there may be some there. I had a boss level in mind which I wanted to implement but sadly couldn't do so due to lack of time.Had great fun while doing this. w3.png LD page: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/$20526 You can grab the game here: https://nilanjan.itch.io/warpys-world Hope you have fun playing this! All feedback is welcome.

What a ride! Game complete!

This was our first game jam, and oh man, was it fun. Unfortunately, we didn't get the time off from work so we only put in about 24 hours into our game. However, it's complete and up on the site. There's still a LOT I would love to do to it, but for the jam itself, I'll settle for making a few fixes to bugs. At least they're not game-breaking.

Check out the fun we had thanks to our friends down at Coding Zeal, who supplied us with space, internet, food, ping pong, and a very necessary massage chair!

Absolutely CANNOT wait for August!! Great job everyone!

Some thoughts about our game, Humanity Simulator

This was the second time I participated in LD. Like last time I made the game with Tunes9. Compared to the first time we were in LD it went very well. I don't think we even submitted the first "game".

The goal of the game is to make the randomly generated planet unhabitable and make money in the process. I think we got a pretty good game idea but we didn't get to tweak things as much as we would have liked. We got enough in so that there's some gameplay. Hopefully there aren't too many bugs. We might one day continue with this game.

I spent the weekend building a bar - in real life - in my garden, but the Jam didn't end until Monday so I spent Monday evening making a quick simple entry, and this is it!

It suffers from gimbal lock, but that's kinda cute. It has a tearing seam because texturing a sphere needs an ability I didn't have time to unlock. It has no sound, but perhaps that's a virtue?

Perhaps the only things its really lacking are a scoreboard and a win-animation (think how Solitaire had the cascading cards...)

Enjoy :)

Call for technological oddities

I'm especially interested in playing games made with unpopular tech.. So if your game was made for DOS or C64, if you made it from scratch, or implemented it.. nevermind, I'll just say what I mean: If your game is not made in unity and is not running in the browser, list it here in the comments, I wanna play it!

dp.png

All repect to the people making games in Unity and using webtech, they're looking awesome and I'm going to play those too, but I'm a strange geek, and I find the obscure stuff intriguing!

Late "Finished" Post

The Village

Hooray! We've done it!

This time we tried to make cool strategy game with deep economic system...
Finished with throwing gold at travelers mechanic

What went right?

Well, we had two artists, which is nice
Also I improved my skills at particle systems :fireworks:

What went wrong?

Started making game without proper planning... again.
We had a lot of ideas and wanted to do everything, which lead to implementing nothing

So we have to scrap a lot if ideas on end of second day, so we have some gameplay.
Unfortunately, we've already lost a lot of time so we skipped audio step, which we wanted to do ourselves - using only our voices :unamused:

What is the result?

In the end we have this: LD Entry, itch.io

Any feedback is welcome! :nerd:

Tribes of the Turtleland are rising!

tribes1.jpg https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/tribes-of-the-turtleland

On the first day a the creator made a turtle out of the void and he saw it was good. On the second day he created the land, the trees and lakes, mountains and clouds and he saw that they were good too. On the third day he created people. And this is when the things went wrong...

tribes2.jpg

The people of the Turtleland organized into two tribes that weren't really able to come to an understanding. Both wanted to claim the whole land for their own as it was not too big really. You, the shaman of the Red Tribe take the charge in order to bring prosperity and glory to your people. You need to help your tribe grow in numbers, take strategic positions to boost your growth and dampen the outburst of your adversaries by pushing them towards less fertile lands (preferably into the void). Are you up to the task? Will you be remembered as the Great Red Shaman, who led his people into eternal glory or a just nameless leader of the long-dead tribe?

Statera

Statera - Achieving peace and balance through violence

The main objective of the game is to keep an ecosystem in equilibrium using GUN, LIGHTNING and METEOR.

So basically there is 3 species in the game which is the Slimes, Rabbits and the Rhinos. If one of the three species's became extinct then it's game over.

After 3 days of hard and tedious work, I have finally finished my first ever entry for Ludum Dare.

Sound effects and 3d assets are not created by me.

Compo Games, Flocking Behaviors

hey everyone, basically, i'm currently, studying Flocking behaviors,

and so i have been wondering, if has anyone of the compo made a game(or knows of one in the compo) which uses A Flocking Behavior. since, source code in the Compo is posted, it would be a really wonderful study to see games here with flocking behavior and see their source code and how it is handled.

so, i'd be really thankful, if anyone can point me out toward some Compo games {or jam games, that has source posted}. that use some sort of flocking behavior. (such as Boids and stuff).

of course, i shall be checking a lot of Compo games on my own, but not sure if i can check them all, so i'd be thankful, if anyone can point me out to some attempts of the compo and Flocking Behaviors.

(if its in unity/C# i'd be even more thankful, but even if it is not, it should be okay).

thanks for reading.and thanks in advance if you help me.

Our LDJAM38 Submission

Hi there friends. We completed our submission for LDJAM #38! I helped make the slug and some other components, while Martian did all the programming and learning how to use CUDA in Unity. It was a wonderfully fun & engaging experience as always.. This was our 3rd LudumDare game jam together. Streaming part of the dev process on Twitch was a blast, as was socializing with other developers. Thanks for being a part of the experience!

The name of our game jam submission was going to be “Slime World” but we changed it at the last minute to “Clean Up in Aisle 3”. Lol..

You can play it for Free ▶️ "Cleanup on Aisle 3" on GameJolt

▶️ The official LDJAM submission page

Here’s a little preview of the 3d slug character I made, on ▶️ Sketchfab where I host a handful of my other 3d models on turntable display. Some are just geometric shapes, but all of them were made while learning 3ds Max & Unity.

I’ll be excited to create something I’m really proud of one day, but for now, I’m enjoying 3d-modeling, researching and honing my skills while spending time with my partner who’s been mentoring me over the years.

Feedback Friends: a game browser for LD38

logo.png

If you took part in LD36, you should probably be familiar with Feedback Friends!, an unofficial mini-site that keeps track of the comments you make and receive.

Good news, Feedback Friends has just been updated to target our brand new ldjam.com, and is now showing LD38 entries! You can use it to search through entries, filter them by platforms etc. And just like for LD36, games are sorted by a "comment coolness" algorithm.

Have fun reviewing games!

NB. If you have any issues or suggestions, please check the site FAQ for anwsers and contact info.

Post-Mortem (cuz all the kool kids are doing it)

cover.png

I thought I'd make a little aftermath post for my game and my first experience participating in a game jam. Although I'm new to the jam, I have been fiddling with Game Maker for years and have become extremely familiar with it. I've made (and half-baked) several small games over the years but I've never shared any of them publicly, so this will be my first experience getting feedback from potentially many people I don't know.

Game Concept

Tiny Terraformer is a game where you are in charge of terraforming a small planet that colonists will be arriving at soon. Build generators that spit different substances into the atmosphere to create an environment suitable for plant growth, and cultivate flora to form a foundation for a healthy ecosystem. Sometimes unexpected stuff happens, so be prepared to put out a few fires or kill a few alien space weeds.

This jam's theme had me scratching my head for a bit, but a boss fight from the SNES game Yoshi's Island kept popping into my mind (along with The Little Prince), so I decided to go with a tiny planet style game.

My first idea was to make a shoot-em-up style defense game where you run around defending a small planet against invading aliens. However, while testing an early prototype (shown below), my softy side punched me with a dose of peaceful wonderment. So I made the decision to switch gears and go for more of a building/simulation style game where combat was not the primary feature.

ttprototype.png

The Meat

I've always been a sucker for complicated games in the RTS and simulation genres. Naturally I tend to want to create games similar to ones I like to play.

I think it was a bit of a risk going with a simulation concept and at several points I wasn't sure it would work out. Even a simple system can be very hard to balance to make it fair and fun for the player, and I spent a ton of time on tedious tweak-test-tweak-test cycles. Small changes had cascading effects. Kids, just Keep It Simple, Stupid.

One nice thing about it being a game jam was that I was willing to finish out the weekend even when I had my doubts just to see if it would turn out. In any normal self-motivated solo development, I might have dropped it forever early on.

tt5.png

Smooth Sailing

Probably due to my being a shut-in nerd (and maybe also high familiarity with my tools), the jam was a lot less stressful than I thought it would be. I also tried my best to keep my concepts simple; I've had plenty of experience in the past with illusions of grandeur, even without any time constraints. I was lucky enough to be able to get all of my ideas into code, plus write my own music (thank you, high school and college band!).

tt2.png

Conclusion

Overall it was a really great experience, and I feel like I lucked out. The one thing I can readily think of to do different next time would be to round up a team and share the experience!

I've seen so many awesome looking games published for this jam and I'm looking forward to playing them!

Post Jam Idea

So our game This Small world

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/this-small-world

was submitted during the jam submission hour. The game is very bare but I'm quite pleased with how much I was able to implement in the last few hours. I thought I'd just post some info about what I'd like to do post jam.

gameScreen.PNG

Despite a little lack of clarity between the two man team I'd say that originally the game was designed to be a bit of a Wetrix style game where shaped groups of tiles would fall from the sky allowing you to shape and expand the world. Unfortunately the 2D top down style doesn't quite work when it comes to tile placement so if I were to continue working on the game I think a change to full 3D, either on a sphere or an isometric view. This would also allow the tiles to fall onto the world and not just slowly fade in. I'd also like to implement a more intuitive scoring system where the more rivers you create, the larger your villages and their proximity to both herds and water increase your score, possibly with an overlay that shows how well your tile layout improves the score.

I guess we'll see how well the game does in the judging to determine whether it's worth developing further.

Thanks for reading :)

Go Man's Sky

Cover.png

A dad-joke pun taken too far, “Go Man’s Sky” is a retro BBS-Door style ANSi art space exploration game set in a procedural universe written in Go. Search for the ancient artifact across dozens of procedurally generated planets. Collect fuel to keep your ship running as you jump from sector to sector in search of the ancient artifact.

Apologies to Hello Games, any similarity to proper games of the same genre is done purely in good humour.

This game is a bare-bones prototype primarily as a learning exercise, however if there’s interest I may continue to develop and expand on this as time goes on. There are bugs, it’s desperately unfinished, but still a bit of fun. Enjoy!

First Ludum Dare Experience wrap up

So this technically isn't the first ludum dare jam I have participated in, I did participate in one of the mini jams some years ago. But this was the first time me participating in the proper jam.

So this is what went well: 1. Came up with the idea pretty early in the development process. It did get modified a lot though as it always tend to happen. 2. Recently read the Game Programming Pattern book. Got to apply quite a lot of the knowledge from it. This probably is my most organized game till date. A huge win for me. 3. I am Somewhat satisfied with the result.

And the negatives: 1. It's still got some hairy code. 2. Had to work without internet the last day. It did cause quite a bit of trouble. Uploading was a mess from my tablet. 3. Started with a proper artist. But he got unavailable after like 30% of the work. So I had to do most of the art stuff by myself. 4. Could get time to put audio.

In the end the end, it was fun overall. Surely looking forward to joining next time again.

Hi Everybody, I am very pleased to introduce you our game : Wake Up!

It is my first participation in LD Jam (well that's not really true I already tried one and alone) and I am very happy of what we achieved !

"Damn it, Don't Die!" is finally finished and published!

Hey there guys and gals! We finally finished a ludum game, after 3 unsucessfull attempts, we finally finished something in time. Well we still had to cut a few corners but the general idea is there. I have to say, I'm a bit disturbed by what we did but it ended up being fun haha.

My First Game

So I decided to leave myself very little time to procrastinate and did this all including learning the very very basics of unity in a night, either way let me know what you think, not a whole lot in terms of game play more of like a walk around game test than a real game. More or less looking for criticism on the models of the mountains and trees than anything else.

Bunny Carrot Farm Simulator 2k17

This is our first entry, We conceived it as some sort of vague tamagotchi meets farming sim -type deal, and it ended up as Bunny Carrot Farm Simulator 2k17.

It’s a “small world” because the map is just a 70×70 tile circle. (¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

glorious carrot farm

You can dig holes.
You can plant carrots.
You can harvest the carrots.
And you can do it all over again.

There’s actually a lot more stuff under the hood ready to go (I promise), but this is all that’s actually up and running!

full code and win64 .exe: https://github.com/Introscopia/Bunny_Carrot_Farm_Simulator_2k17

(Can anyone tell me if I did this correctly? Are we “in”? we posted literally at the last minute I think.)

Breakout Bunny is Go

boxCard.png

Play Breakout Bunny

We did it! We got our game, Breakout Bunny, done yesterday and submitted before the server strain that kicked in around 8 PM, and we're pretty happy with it. In Breakout Bunny, you play as a rabbit in a small cage awaiting feeding time for your favorite snack, Growth Pellets. Your owner, though, has a habit of over-feeding you (despite being warned not to) and soon enough you've outgrown your home, at which point the game proper begins.

Breakout Bunny is a sidescrolling platformer at heart, but with mild some adventure game elements. It's also really short due to the time constraints of Ludum Dare. We'd like to continue this character's adventure someday but that's a conversation for another time and place.

We'd love it if you'd give Breakout Bunny a try and let us know what you think. It's a short, fun, light-hearted game and can be played via keyboard or with a controller, so hopefully everyone can enjoy it.
