I'm in for my thirteenth consecutive event!

First, I'm In. I'll be streaming my entire weekend of development at twitch.tv/timbeaudet so toss a follow to get notified.

Tool Kit Visual Studio TurtleBrains / Internal Combustion Engine (custom frameworks) C++ Blender Audacity?

Game Plan This LudumDare I'm taking on a different approach. I am not planning to create the best game or experience I can within the amount of time, but am aiming to create and learn skills that will be useful in my Indie Adventure. Through 2018 I've been trying to take this seriously and everything I do needs to be directed toward that goal. I will be starting from scratch, as per rules; but aim to spend minimal time programming, and instead focus primarily on art and creating an environment. I'm seriously hoping to create an environment that can be used in my current, second, indie project, the big air, exploding, drifting game, Rally of Rockets

LudumDare IRC Channel This is a reminder everyone about the Ludum Dare IRC Channel over on AfterNET! Feel free to connect and join #ludumdare on irc.afternet.org with your favorite IRC client and discuss the jam with other jammers! The community is among the best I've ever been a part of. If you don’t have a client for IRC, There is Hexchat or if you’d rather want to use a web based client, google for Mibbit or Kiwi IRC.

We're in!

Me and my friend Yacker are joining, because somehow the only way we can finish something is if we have a strict deadline. shot

Tools we're gonna use:

C (GCC + Visual Studio) with our own engine,

Game Maker's image editor + Paint.NET for sprites,

BFXR for sound effects (If we make original ones),

and OrgMaker 2 for music. (If I have time to make some)

New guy here to participate

Me and my pal RootLM have decided to participate in our first ludum dare! We've been developing video games for several years now, but suffer from over-ambition, so we've been looking at participating in some game jams to help with that. As well as we just finished development of our base "engine" in C to use in the future, no longer relying on other engines like Game Maker or Unity, so this will be a good chance to put it through its paces. I'm looking forward to participating and seeing what we wind up developing, as well as everyone else!

Repeating Themes

It seems like every Ludum Dare, we get a theme like

  • Floating Islands
  • You control the environment
  • Death is useful/important

..and many others.

Just another first Ludum Dare post

Hi all! After a long interest in making games (and having a lot of experience making games for the TI-84 calculator...) I decided I would start for real! One week ago I picked up Unity and started training as hard as I could, so hopefully I'll be able to make something that is at least presentable. Unity does a lot of things I don't like (like doing everything for you) but it seems it's widely used so that's what I'll go for as well.

Since many like to write a summary: - My game engine will be Unity - My editor is Rider from Jetbrains - Music (a very weak part of me) will be made in Bosca Ceoil - And my hosting service, I honestly do not know about that. My initial plan was to upload my build as a zip file to google drive, but I'm not too sure if that is the smartest idea. Any tips?

Thanks for reading this and I wish everyone a happy Ludum Dare! Good luck!

Round 2!

Going for the second Ludum Dare, and it has crept up on me fast! I almost missed it, but luckily I tuned in just before it starts. Good luck to all!

Giving it Another go! Whoo Hoo!

IDK how many done now, but i should be available this week (with job & sleep permitting). Hopefully everyone will have a great time and learn something new!
