This will be my 3rd LDJam. Composer and myself (Designer/Programmer) looking for a versatile (2D/3D) artist to join our team for LD44. If interested, inquire within or visit us at http://www.battlecrafters.com and email me at support. Thanks!
How to I join LD44? The registration over?

That is my first Ludum Dare, I wish I can make some interesting things.

So much blood Xb
A few that stood out to me:
I tried to vote for ones that gave a direction for art and/or mechanics without being too narrow. Themes like Something must change were.. how to put it nicely... way too open ended? You might not be making games correctly if literally NOTHING in your game changes. That is called a screensaver...
There were also a lot of You are the enemy/boss/level/world/gun/obstacle/etc.... So I appreciated the humor of whoever put in You are the Player 🙂
My first Ludum Dare was LD28 when I was 14, and here we are at LD44, how time flies.
I have no idea what kind of game I'm gonna make, or what I'm gonna make it with. I might go with MSVC C++ and Direct3D, or Java and Swing for the nostalgia, I really have no idea.
My game may have little to do with the theme... Depending on the theme.
I'm super excited though, so hyped to finish something, I haven't had a good LD in a while (the last few I haven't finished, or have been hungover).
Since, I'm making the game without Unity/Unreal/whatever I should probably write some base code or something, although, I never seem to get round to it....
I hope everyone else is just as excited!

This is my first game I'm planning to release in a professional capacity and I'm very excited to get some more feedback :)
Because Windows 7 is no longer going to be supported at all next year, I'm planning on fully switching over to a Linux distro instead of upgrading to Windows 10. Currently, I've been experimenting with openSUSE, but I still don't have a development environment set up for it. Are there any good utilities or engines I'm overlooking while I make the transition? Most of the art and audio programs I use are FOSS (GIMP, Krita, Audacity), so that won't be much of an issue when transitioning.
On Windows 7, I currently use Visual Studio as my IDE for C# programming on Unity. How is the Linux build of Unity nowadays? I'm alright also alright with not using an IDE and just having a text editor.
EDIT: Obligatory post-slaughter post

Knowing the 5 most likely themes last time sucked a little bit and took the fun away - so this season no statistics-looking from me ;) And probably only have around 10 hours avail.... SO we'll see how it goes
This LD has some amazing themes! I made sure I upvote all the music/rhythm-based themes and hopefully some would make it to the voting rounds.

This is just a test because I have no idea how my friend can find me otherwise :D
BTW I am in LD44...

.. some of the themes...
Hi! This is my first Ludum Dare, actually my first Jam and I am really excited.

I will be using:
Engine/Framework: LibGDX
Code: Java
IDE: Android Studio
Art: Gimp, JPixel
Music: LMMS, Audacity
because of finishing exams the Friday night and me having to move my stuff back home from university on the weekend of LD I'll have very little time but I might be able to commit half a day or so, so I'll try to get something done with a really limited scope.
This'll be my 12th in a row since LD33 so I'm trying to complete at least something to keep the streak. Will be using Gamemaker Studio 2 as usual.
I forgot to take a screen-shot but one of the themes during slaughter was "Subscribe to Pewdiepie"
