Good Themes in the Round 1 shortlist. I tried to upvote themes that seemed they could be taken in different directions easily. Here are my votes : )
Hoping that the chosen theme for this Ludumdare is broad so that everyones games aren't too similar.
I've got to say, we were only expecting around half as many green votes as this, so we're pretty happy with Round 1!
In fairness, not every green vote is here is because we think the theme is inherently strong - a couple of them are because the theme has given us an idea we'd enjoy rolling with. Anyway, that's neither here nor there, more than 50% green votes is a very pleasant surprise for us.
Looking forward to seeing what Round 2 has to offer!

I don't think I've ever seen a batch of themes this balanced between -1s, 0s, and +1s! Interesting...
I'd like to vote for more, but I know I wouldn't make them on time(or ever) even though I have some ideas already
Since I already know I won't be able to work on my compo project on Friday or Saturday, I'm going to try a new kind of approach.
I'll be spending Saturday evening just designing my game on paper (and hopefully) figuring things out in my head. Then I'll try my best to wrap the entire project down during Sunday. Because of this, I'm also giving myself an extra challenge of having the entire game be in the same window, i.e. no camera movement, scene management or anything of the sort. Hopefully this'll cut down on the development time.

My first and last LD was LD 41. The last game jam I took part in happened sometime in 2018 and I haven't done absolutely anything game-dev related since then (not counting minor ventures into the world of music creation/sound design). Up until 20min ago, I had no idea the next LD was just around the corner. Lastly, I'm working this weekend so...
... there's absolutely no good reason why I should join, but as the title suggests - I'm in! I have that itch to create and it needs to be scratched. I'm also rusty as all hell, but hopefully, I'll manage to create something.
Tools:
Unreal / Unity - I'm a bit more familiar with the former, the latter seems a bit better for the purpose of a small jam. I will decide in the next day or two.
Ableton - For music and sound design.
Free assets for graphics as I'm no artists and I'll be running short on time.

Hi everyone!! My name is Lorenzo, I am an italian guy, I am 16 and I have been coding for about 2 years, I've never faced up to game dev, I only did some prototypes, mainly in Python (I know it's not the best game dev language, but I don't feel very comfortable with other languages...), I also never used game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine. This is my first game jam and I am attempting it with some friends that also are like me in terms of coding. Do you have any advice for me? P.S.: Sorry for the bad english, I am not very good at it😅
