I haven't started active development yet, this will probably be the longest I go before actually starting to code. This theme is just really hard for me to come up with ideas.
I had an idea of being on a looping path, like a racetrack, that you can't escape from. I had the idea of having a level reset after time, and you have to set up objects to help yourself win the next time through. I thought of a game you play through multiple times to understand a hidden narrative.
The problem with all of these, and I think a lot of games are going to have this jam:
They're TOO REPETITIVE!
So, I'm starting to think of other potential ideas, but here's my line of thinking to help my game escape this problem:
Think of alternative interpretations of "loop".
