Ludum Dare 37 December 9–12, 2016

First Ludum Dare

Well, I’m so excited! This will be my first ludum dare! 😀

I’m going solo. I’m using:

-Unity

-BFXR http://www.bfxr.net/

-Photoshop + Paint.NET

…Aaand some spare knowledge on coded mesh generation acquired while working on a game I’m making. Surely I will find a place to include some flashy generated mayhem regardless of the winning theme, even though I don’t have any prepared code… outside my head. 😉

Don’t expect much though, I am just starting to make games, and haven’t published one online either (again, I’m working on one), though there is quite some experience on both coding and photoshop going on here. 😉

If anything goes wrong, you can still expect some garbage game to come out a day or two after it’s all over, but hopefully it won’t come to that.

Have fun, everyone! And good luck.

GL HF!

…by the way…

…I’m in for the COMPO. 😉

WERE IN

For the 5th time, and 5th time in a row. #excited.

I’m In

I’m in again. Like usual, the plan is to use MonoGame and C#. It’s the framework and language I’m most familiar with. Last time I had a change of plans with the “Ancient Technology” theme and ended up making a Tic Tac Toe game for the Commodore 64 using Commodore BASIC. I definitely learned a lot because it was my first time using a C64 (emulator). Not expecting any major language or system changes this time around but you never know what will come up. That’s a major part of the fun in these jams. I’m looking forward to developing something fun this weekend. I hope everybody has good time and learns a lot. Good luck to everybody.

What I’m most likely using:

  • Visual Studio 2015 Community (C#)
  • MonoGame 3.5
  • BFXR
  • GIMP
  • MS Paint

First game jam!

Hey folks!

This is slowtyper!

Gonna be my first Ludum Dare! Can’t wait!

I’m going to be working with my friend.

We both will be using Unity with C#.

Our plan is to make a 2D game and finish something this weekend.

Good luck everyone!!

I’m in…

I think regardless of theme, I’ll be able to make something.  So, I’m officially in.

I will be using Unity and C#.  Blender if I get really adventurous.  GIMP and Paint if I have to.

Right now the goal is to keep it sweet and simple.  I think that it’ll be for the best if I keep things that way.

I can add more tools to my subsequent Ludum Dare submissions.

Being “in” is only what you choose to make it.

It’s been a year and a half since I was able to submit anything to an LD, so it’s about time for my triumphant return, right?  Yes.  Haven’t done any programming in an age, either, but… y-yolo?  Do kids still say that?  Anyway, I’m here.  I’m ready-ish.  I’m in.  I’ll be programming in JavaScript with Notepad++ and Chrome, with art most likely in some combination of Paint and GIMP.  It will be glorious.  You’ll see.

I’m in!

Let’s make some games! Going solo, Ill be entering the compo but if (|| when) I miss the deadline I’ll be in the jam.

This will be my first Ludum Dare. I’ve done a couple smaller game jams you can check out here: https://brucebelk.itch.io/

Using Unity3d, blender, and if my programmer art skills fail me I’ll use photoshop.

Good luck and have fun!

Yo yo yo

I’m in. Will be using the following
– Asset store 😀
– Unity
– Photoshop
– Garageband if I get time

This ain’t my first rodeo

I’m in for LD37!

Things I’ll use include but are not limited to:

  • Unity
  • Visual Studio Code
  • Some plugin that some cool guy made for Visual Studio Code
  • Photoshop
  • Ableton
  • Tiled
  • Tiled2Unity

Let’s set a goal for myself, because why not? I want more improvement on the art side of things. I want my game to feel dynamic and artsy. Particle effects everywhere!

Here’s my starter code. It’s just some collision detection stuff, plus some IoC stuff that I really don’t understand at all and shouldn’t be learning during LD. :)

Good luck, everyone!

good luck johnfn

I’m in!

This is, I think my 11th game jam. Super excited to be doing the compo. May be switching over to Jam if my project out lasts the timer. Stoked to see what I come out with!

Team up?

Yeah, it’s a bit late but if anyone wants to team up, let me know. I can do programming and music… Here are some games I’ve worked on before with El_Cabaro:

Email at yux50000 <at> hotmail.com or post in the comments. Let me know if you want to team up!

Second Ludum Dare I am participating in!

The first Ludum Dare led me to complete my first game ever! So why stop there? I will hopefully be creating my third… or fourth game with this Ludum Dare. I wish everyone good luck on creating their project, and would like to inform those who are starting for the first time that if you start to get bummed that you won’t finish: stop, look at what you have, and finish what you have, and don’t add anything else to your project.

I’m in

This is my first “real” try at this. I put aside time tonight and tomorrow for this and I may be able to take some time Sunday.

Going to use Unity and VS mostly. I’m going to use GIMP for art generation. For sound editing I’ll use Audacity.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in!

Just posted my Nim basecode on github.

https://github.com/ftsf/nico-ldbase

Feel free to use it, it’s basically the Pico8 API but on top of Nim and SDL2 with some utility functions that I’ve been using for a couple of my other projects.

Compiles from Linux to Windows and OSX and probably Android.

Using:

  • Nim
  • Nico (see above)
  • Aseprite
  • Sfxr probably
  • Gimp maybe

Attempting to stream on twitch, first time, be gentle.

First timer

First time here. Little uncertain if I finish anything, but hoping to get some experience at least.

Using

  • muCoreJam, my little bare bone C/C++ framework
  • Krita
  • Aseprite
  • Bfxr
  • Tiled if tiles required

We are in!

We are using

-unity

-some kind of art program

-maybe some music

good luck everyone!!!

Back in action

This is my first Ludum Dare in over four years, and it feels good to be home. I’m still brushing off some of my game development rust, so this may be a bumpy ride but I sure am pumped! I’ll be solo jamming in the compo.

The tools this time around are:

  • Language: Haxe
  • Framework: OpenFL/HaxeFlixel
  • Text Editor: SublimeText
  • Graphics: Piskel, Sketch
  • Sound Effects: Bfxr
  • Audio: Adobe Audition, Audacity

And my hardware if need be:

  • Drawing Tablet: Wacom Bamboo
  • Microphone: Blue Snowball Ice
