Ludum Dare 37 December 9–12, 2016

Is this a game?

No

TOO MANY IDEAS!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Intro made

Not really sure to go with this theme mechanics wise, so I thought I’d go in more of a cinematic direction. Started with the intro for now. Title isn’t final.

First Ludum Dare: First Person Game

Hey everyone, this is my first Ludum Dare. I’ve been learning to model for about a year now. I’m going to be creating my assets from scratch and bringing them into Unity. My focus for this Jam will be to create some decent looking assets and improve my skill in modelling. Might try a horror-themed macabre first person escape the room game. Still hashing out the details, but I know it will take place in an apartment. I’ve started modelling some assets to get myself started while I think about the details.

Check out my twitter for progress shots!

LD37 is a goooooooo

At least I have a bunch of notes on paper already. It has to do with penguins and coffee. I tricked/convinced a friend to join me in this Jam.

Brainstorm finished

Took a little longer than usual to decide what I am gonna do. Will probably regret that when I have two hours left!

BUT here is my brainstorm and I have decided on a game concept and am starting to build it now :)

Escape the room DO NOT DO hahaha Yeah I bet a good chunk of the games will be an escape the room of sorts :)

Design ended -kind of-

Hey guys!

I finally decided the basic design of my game, planned and ready I’m starting now to work!
Lets see how it goes

Brewery Simulator and Wack A Mole

The ASU Codedevils club is currently working on two entries for the jam!

We have one team working on a brewery simulator and another team working on a wack-a-mole game.

In the beginning stages, but we will try to update when we have something worth sharing.

Looking forward to the weekend!

Thanks

-Evan

Idea spam

Excited for the return of #LDJAM 😀 A bit sad that I don’t have access to a Vive, and kudos to all ya’ll Viver bastards who sneakily got this theme in :)

Idea spam time!

  • Rotate a room in 360 degrees AND navigate your character in it. A la Blast Chamber
  • You’re stuck in a room but can manipulate time to change the room to navigate
  • Solitary confinement simulator
  • Escape Room but you’re a dog
  • Escape Room but you’re a cat and can only do cat things
  • 2D platformer in one room, and can pick up a VR HMD and becomes a 3D game
  • Air traffic control officer who’s actually an assassin
  • Crossing the seas in a shipping container
  • Crossing the seas in a ship as a slave
  • You’re in a room that tumbles around the world like a big block thing
  • One room murder mystery

Darnit no nothing sticks with me yet

I might steal an inspiration from you 😉 Thanks for sharing!

37 hours in a room – idea

my ideas:

Locked in a room zombies out there

  • A survival game
  • Patch wood things in inventory
  • How long can you last
  • Bird’s eye view
  • destroy things for patching the door
  • items (breakable)
    • chair -> easier to break but weak
    • bed -> harder to break but stronger
  • choices help you survive.
  • survive for 37 hours
  • TITLE: 37 hours in a room

Hour 2 Progress

Got done the most important part of any game: Sweet background images.

Haha, when I was working on a elevator-thing I had that problem too. Good to see it is “common”

I’M IN!!!

One room- that might actually happen!  Bestes!

The Border Team

Yup…

That’s the name of my game now…

(It may not be good tho…)
