LD31 December 5–8, 2014

In for the first time for the Dezember round (hopefully)

So here i am again, last year i had to skip the December round as i had a full weekend with the better half, this year i got the weekend of but will travel back to my mothers to help her move to a new apartment during the week, so i am not sure what i will be able to get done as i only have my  laptop and its tiny 13″ screen to develop on and a once again even more limited time-frame.

Lets see, i think i will definitely do sth. but probably will have to dial back on my ambitions (yeah, that has worked sooo well in the past compos… ehem…)

My weapon of choice will be again the good old HTML5 combo with Phaser.io / Pixi.js / Plain JS depending on what i will do.

So, hope to see you next weekend, best of luck for everyone,

goeth forth and codeth

We use coffeescript+phaserJs, and build all the mix with ruby.

Thanks Mike!

I’ll try to be in…

It’s been… A year! I guess I lost a lot of my skills, and I don’t really think I had gotten any more.

Tools:

  • PhYard builder, the same one every time. Maybe I should stick to something else, but I’m so used to it!
  • Chronolapse.

That’s pretty much all the stuff I’ll use for sure. But I might use this:

Graphics: GIMP or Inkscape. Not good in either.Audio: more likely Abundant Music. Maybe Guitar Pro or some other stuff. Found Sonant Live recently, might use it as well.XSplit for streaming.

I got a bit busier, but I’ll hope I won’t be affected much. If it goes wrong, I might just join jam instead of the compo.

What can I say about the themes… I don’t like the ☃. If it wins, there’ll be 90% white-blue games with a snowman protagonist… From the voting rounds I participated in, I liked themes “End Where You Started”: good for interesting storylines, and not restraining; “Love”: I haven’t seen this wonderful theme before, did it took so long to realize it can be used? and “The Red Button”: a bit cliche, but promises some fun games.

I’m In!

*I* being myself and two other people. we are a team of three students and will be using unity to complete our game. First time doing a game jam for two of us!

I’m (probably) in :D

I will work alone using Unity. First time here but I am looking forward to it 😀

//Proximal Pyro

I’m in, probably.

I’m probably gonna be in. depends what I feel like on friday.

In school we’re learning C# so I’m gonna be using monogame, because what better way is there to reinforce knowledge on a language than making a game? well, there’s probably a few, but games are cool.

I’ll be using:

Gimp – art

Monogame – code

FLStudio + bfxr – music & sfx

I’d also like to say I really enjoy the look of this new site!

I’m in (Hopefully)

I’m hoping I can actually make just about enough time to get something going this weekend. As always my weekend is completely filled :P.

Assuming I can actually participate, I will use:

IDE: Eclipse

Language: Java

Framework: If any, Slick2D

Art: GIMP2 and regular good ol’ ms Paint

Music and sound: LMMS and SFXR

Good luck everyone!

Question about the new rules

We skipped one Jam, so the rules may not be that new, but I can’t find a lot of clarification. The rules for the Jam, say that if you use 3rd party or assets you made previous to the jam, you should opt-out of the category.

And that’s fine and makes sense. But what if, say, you use a character you made previously and the rest of the graphics are made from scratch? Would putting a clear note in the description and not opt-ing out of the graphics category be fine?

If you don’t want to opt-out of graphics I’d probably just avoid using that character if I were you. I’m sure no-one would call the police or anything but it wouldn’t really be in the spirit of Ludum Dare which is about what you can do in 48/72 hours.
02. Dec 2014 · 15:56 UTC
Is that the spirit though? The previous rules for the 72hours/Jam version did clearly say that you could use stuff you had laying around from previous projects. The rules were more relaxed.

BuzzJeux is in for LD31 (and first compo try!)

Hi everyone, very enjoy to make my first Ludum Dare (compo) !

Logo BuzzJeux

My workflow/tools :

  • Language > Haxe + Openfl
  • Framework > Haxeflixel
  • IDE > Flashdevelop
  • GFX > Aseprite + Photoshop
  • SFX > Bsfxr / Wavelab
  • BGM > Milkytraker + Renoise
  • Editors > Tiled / Texturepacker

May the force be with us all ! 😉

Gonna try

It’s been probably a year since last time I took part in a compo.  Well, better late than never.  Let’s get back in the game.

I should probably use something other than Construct 2 at this point but I’m so used to it.  Been meaning to re-install Unity onto the new machine but it’d take some time for me to get back into it, so maybe not for this jam. v.v
Art will be graphics gale or photoshop, depending on whether or not I feel pixel art is the best medium for the theme.
SFXR or BFXR for sound and (probably) CGmusic or (maybe) this thing for music.

WE SHALL SEE. =O

Deyteris_team are in

Hey guys. We are deyteris_team (Michael Kulikov: code, Max Ivanov: graphics) and we can’t wait to start making something cool for LD.

I’m in!

This will be my first LDJam, excited!  😀
