LD31 December 5–8, 2014

I’m in!

Here’s an overdue “I’m in!” post. This is going to be my first LD, and I’m pretty excited about it! I’ll probably just be partaking in the Jam because of this overlapping with finals.

Tools: Either Unity 2D or RPG Maker VX Ace
Language: C# or RGSS 3, respectively
Sound: bfxr, Otomata, Bosca Ceoil, Audacity
Graphics: Paint Tool SAI, GIMP, MS Paint, going to be looking at some other tools as well… looking forward to using my new Intuos 5 for this part!

I’m here for LD31!

Loadout: GCC, the WinAPI OpenGL Hello World you get with CodeBlocks, Gimp, some audio lib not sure which. I’ll take part in the compo.

I will make everything from scratch except the font/fonts I’ll be using. You can find them here!

Last LD, I tried to make a 3D, planetary (connected worlds), proc.gen, RTS. Didn’t finish, duh, so let’s keep it simple and ugly fast this time.

Nice, finally another C++ & OpenGL programmer here.

Simple, ugly, fast. Holy crap is that a good goal. I should put that on my wall. Good luck on the compo!

Im in

I think I am ready to try and also take a part.. Proof of concept is done. This is my first game jam, so I am excited. I think it will be nice experience not only to make a game but also to play it. And enjoy other people’s creations.

I will use my best skills with Blender, Zbrush and Unity to make a game.

Good luck 😉

I’m in Ludum Dare 31

My first Ludum Dare, surely this will be crazy…kkkk

I will use:

Engine: Unity3d
Language: C#
Graphics: Me and Photoshop

I’m so excited… Lets go … Ludum Dare 31

Yet another n00b, that might try to learn löve along the way

I was expecting a friend to do the “jam” with, but he wasn’t available in the end.  So I shall subscribe to the “compo”/classic challenge.

I usually uses C++11 with SDL, but I want to use something more quick to write for what I believe is a prototyping challenge.  I believe I’ll try to use löve, unless I have a visual novel idea, in which case I’ll learn ren’py).  If I use löve I’ll have no starting base.  If I get too afraid, I’ll switch to python and something I know, like pygobject and I’ll get some code snippets to reuse.  I hope I’ll manage to distribute python/lua softwares easily.

My biggest fear I that I suck so much at sound (I even have no microphone), that it is very likely I’ll end up with a soundless game.

So my planned tools are
– Löve and lua or or python and ren’py or python and pygobject,
– Inkscape, Gimp, Krita, MyPaint, a pencil, a pen, a brush (not all might be needed),
– Box2D if needed,
– Jesse Schell’s book on game design.

This is my first LD I hope I’ll enjoy it !

Im in for my 3rd LD!

Hey all! Looking forward to this weekend and the crazy amounts of fun that I hope we all have!

Code: C#
Engine: Unity 3D
Sounds: BFXR, FL Studio
Art: Photoshop

Hope you all have a great weekend and an amazing time building your games!

Good Luck!

Is Kivi so nice for game development? :m

I’m in

Hey all,

Thank you for being an awesome community. I’m really looking forward to this weekend of deving.

I’m in

Third Ludum Dare and this time my wife will be helping me, so it’ll be a Jam entry. That extra 12 hours will no doubt come in handy.

I’ll be using GLBasic one last time for nostalgia purposes. Same old basecode from 2012 and same tools: Audacity, Inkscape, Photoshop, TexturePacker, Notepad++, FL Studio and OpenMPT.

I’m in

This is my first time, and I have no idea what to really expect.

Going solo and doing this in Javascript with Phaser.js as my weapon of choice.
Whatever I end up with, it  will not be some fancy pants 3D work of art.

Other tools:

Sublime
Tiled
Pixelmatorand Coffee

For sound, I’ll probably use sfxr if I have time for it.

I’m in!

Oooo it’s that time again!

Engine : Unity

Code: C#

Audio:  A lot of whining and manical sleep deprived ranting I imagine

Visual: 3ds Max & Photoshop

I’m in

Have not much time though :( I hope I find 4-8 hours to create something tiny.

Engine: Unity 2D

Graphics: Affinity Designer / Pyxel

Music/Sound: Garage Band, Audacity, bfxr

I’m still in, but adjusting expectations

I did my “I’m in” post already, but I am changing a few things. My wife’s birthday is Saturday, so my time will be shorter than I think I need for the compo. I want to go for the 48 hour compo anyway, so scoping is going to be very important. Depending on what theme is selected, and what I can scope small enough, I will use one of the following 2 technology stacks.

STACK 1

Unity

C#

Monodevelop

GIMP

ASEPRITE

Audacity

LSDJ

BFXR/SFXR (maybe?)

Maybe iTween

STACK 2 (If I can’t scope something in unity such that it can be done with my limited time)

Twine

Audacity

GIMP and or ASEPRITE

Notepad++

GLHF Everyone!

about aseprite did you master it ?

For futur game we love to work with a pixel art graphist.

Even More LD31 Wallpapers

So I thought I’d join in the wallpaper making craze.

LD31 Wallpaper

LD31 BG11

LD31 Wallpaper

You can find a collection of different colors here. Some of the palettes are based on previous games I’ve made but you’re very welcome to customize the colors. All wallpapers are 1920 x 1200 but they should be easy to crop to other resolutions.

Lastly, I added the three boxes to each ‘aspect’ of game development with the idea that you could tick or fill the boxes in as you make progress on the game.

First time attempt

Here’s what I’m planning to use for my first attempt :)

Engine: SDL2

Code: C

Editor: Sublime (VS2013 to debug)

Art: Photoshop, mspaint

Audio: I’ll give sfxr a shot, GarageBand if I get to it 😛

First LD

Hey everyone!
I am new to game development and to LD. I will be attending ^^. Hope to meet some people and have some fun :)
I have a background of systems biology and love programming and game design. I barely have any experience in programming for game development, so this will be a great chance for me to learn.

Anyone interested can check my personal blog or my resume.
