Today I started to focus on the must have features of the game, like these dual joystick controlled eyeballs…

Tomorrow I’ll have to finish the ever growing list.

They’re holding hands!

Ugh, I got this uploaded at the nearly exact end of submission hour. Not cool. 😀
My excuse for almost being late? A nearly unexplainable panic-inducing bug 30 mins before submission hour. Like I said, not cool.
So! This was my 5th LD, and I think the best I’ve had of yet.

I hate this thumbnail. It required some awkward scaling and whatnot. But don’t let that stop you! Go check it out HERE!
Hey everyone! Brandon from Shatter Point, again.
I’m gonna keep this short since we’re pretty much in crunch time, but I wanted to share an update.

We’ve got the final character art, which will be used in game as portraits during dialog. Regular gameplay is pixel art.

Most of the gameplay components have been built, but need to be merged together. We still need a lot of art assets, but I’m hopeful we can get those in soon. I’m hoping a lot will come together once we have those.
We still have a bunch of writing to get done, that will probably be a lot of tomorrow’s workload. We have just under a day to finish this, but we’re gonna try our best to make something fun!

Flames and shifting is finished, boss and all! You can try it here.

Are you interested who is this lady? She’s the protagonist of…
My LD#35 contribution: The Amazon and the Cybergod!
Sadly, it was quite a fail, because setting up my tools was much tougher that I expected, and despite I couldn’t finish a proper game, but I learnt a lot.
About valuing success.
About debugging.
About versioning.
About webdev.
And in general, about project management.
So check if out – at the very least, for her!
Stop using google drive for zip files! Dropbox is a much cleaner solution, and drive i like its own system, so you need to unzip it in drive, download it, and maybe even unzip it in the computer. Pls, stp wit de dreiva nd do di drpbx.

This game is about a guy that can transform himself into animals but, he just can do it for a second.
I did it! This is my fourth ludum dare, but this is the first time everything has gone smoothly. I can see myself growing as a programmer from each LD. Last time I learned about scope and time management and boy did it pay off!
You can check out my game here: Phagocytosis

It’s not my best work, but I’m super proud that I have a completed, playable product. I’ll see ya guys next LD!
Crazy Race is finished!
I finished uploading the standalone builds so have fun with my LD35 entry!
Hope you had fun too. I had a lot of fun creating this entry. Now it’s rating time.
You can play and rate my game here.
I finished Boolean Differences!
You can play and rate it here.
Enjoy =)
BTW, I am 14 years old, as of making this game.
Firstly, go check the game out!
Alright, welcome back. Little Girl is my first Ludum Dare entry, and my first participation in the event. It’s my second solo game jam and my third overall (I did soundtrack work at a local jam). I knew I had what it takes to get a nice entry in 48 hours, and that’s all the time I’d likely get my wife to fly solo with the kids on a weekend, and I don’t really have any go-to teammates, so the compo (48 hour, solo) flavor of LD seemed right for me.

Shapeshifting was the theme this time around, which was perfectly fine by me! I opted to make a 2D action game because I felt I could get it up and running quickest. I’m not sure where the idea came from, but I decided an innocent-looking little girl that transforms into a hellish phantom would create a nice level of juxtaposition and really sell the shape-shifting motif. In phantom form, your agility goes through the roof, you have fearsome attacks, and can rip through enemies. It, however, drains away your life power! So does being shot. That’s all bad. So it’s a balancing act between stringing enemy kills together and biding your time as a cutesy little pink-haired girl.
I did all of the player animations in the first hour or two of the jam, then moved onto prototyping mechanics. I got those nailed down, made the tileset, the smoke effects, 90% of the soundtrack, and a few sound effects in the first 24 or so hours. I had a couple sleep breaks at night and a few hours for church, but then hammered away at the game until it was done with two minutes to spare. There are always things I’d like to go back and add, but I’m extremely happy with my entry!

The soundtrack, I think, is something particularly neat. It’s fully interactive and really helps set the tone between the two character forms. I also did a LOT of Foley work around my desk for as many sound effects as possible.
I think it was a pretty huge effort overall, and I’m ecstatic with what I was able to accomplish in 48 hours. Give it a go and let me know what you think!

This has been a blast of a weekend. I may have bitten off more than I could chew, but I think I got it wrapped up well enough to be playable at least.
Hopefully next time around I’ll have a bit more perspective and a bit less hubris 😉
You can play my game, Selkie, here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=44480
Now I’m going to be busy playing everybody else’s!
Our enemies sheet…
Game: Zedhus…

What a great weekend! I learned so much. This is my second Ludum Dare. I ended up making something that’s more of a media player than a game. It’s a space ride into the rapture where the flames move according to the selected music. Made in Construct 2. You can’t do much other than fly around. I spent a lot of the weekend trying to figure out how I can have users upload music and allow Construct to analyse the frequencies from it. Unfortunately I couldn’t get that going
If anyone knows how to do that please let me know(Probably using the File Chooser object and Audio.Analyse). I’d be super grateful for any help with that.
Also lemme know what song you’d ride into the rapture with 😀
