LD 39 July 28–31, 2017

I'm in!

I am new here, this is my first Ludum Dare, and I will use TIC-80 to make my game.

I'm in :)

It's been a while since my last LD – hopefully I'll have enough time to get something up this weekend

.

.

Let's do this!

Get hyped!

I'm in!

Hello everyone, that will be my first time i participate in LD. I will use TIC-80 for the jam :)

Young but positive and certainly in!

Hey guys, last time i participated i was 12 and this time im 14 have so much more experience! Im going to be using :

  • Unity
  • MonoDevelop
  • Photoshop
  • Blender
  • Audacity
  • Google (Of course!)

Hopefully I can incorporate some new things im learning such as neural networks and genetic algorithms!

I'm in

My fifth Ludum Dare, and hopefully my third where I finish a game.

Using:

  • SDL2
  • C/C++
  • GNU Emacs
  • Virtualbox
  • Linux Mint
  • Paint.NET
  • Ableton Live

Im in

This will be the second ludum dare that I will join and since the classes at our country started at June, I will probably join the Compo.

Hopefully, the theme would be better than the previous.

I will be using:

 •Unity

 •Blender

 •Paint.net

 •Bosca Ceoil

First LD, good luck everybody.

Hopefully this will be my first LD entry. I'll be trying to use only free software (non-propriety) tools in my quest to make a game. I'll probably be using:

Game Engine (Framework): Libgdx

3d Graphics: Blender

2d Graphics: The GIMP

Music: Ardour (A FOSS DAW)

OS: Linux

I'm In

My weekend is already pretty much shot, but the theme possibilities look great so I'm going to do what I can! No time for streaming this time around.

Good luck everyone!

Tools I Use

People seem to be really eager to pre-announce their tool belts, and I am kind of feeling left out now. So here are mine:

  • Engine: Unity3D
  • Coding: C# / Visual Studio Community 2017
  • Visuals: Blender / Krita
  • Sound: NA. (Will try BFXR for effects, but NFI what to use for background music…)

And seeing a lot of people announce they would be using their own engines, or even plain C… Makes me impressed.

I remember when I was young (sometime around 2000) me and a couple of friends tried to create a game. And I was coding it using… quick Basic. smile And I even managed to make a Fallout-like isometric map rendering with each tile having it’s “Sprite” and those were rendered in sequence to make a map. Though… at that time we didn’t know such words as “Rendering” or “Sprite”. Heck… Even the “sprites” we used for rendering were not actually images loaded from external files. Those were subroutines issuing commands to set color of specific pixels. And it was kind of tedious to make those (and adjust them if needed). And animations? We didn’t even get to those realms before the project died off.

But the most low-level tool I ever used for creating something, was probably my macro-assembler project… the “Life” simulation with glorious 320x200 resolution, 256 colors EGA graphics (Those are pretty trivial in assembler as all the video memory basically fits into one Segment - 64kb )… And it worked… Though it wasn’t epilepsy-friendly.

LD Compo? I'm In!

I am in for this weekend! My usual stack is:

  • Python
  • Pygame
  • PyCharm
  • PyTMX
  • Pyxel

Maybe this time I will finally do something useful in Unity, though.

I also intend to do some low-bitrate Twitch streaming of the dev process. Got 750 kilobits/sec to spare? I might have just the stream for you!

First Dare

Hoping to join the event, this will be my first Gamejam. I have experience with Photoshop, Krita, and Unity & C#

I’m in with new challenge

Hi all, i decide to join this LD but with new challenge. In Jam’s before I was doing some games in Android but for this LD I want to do it with JavaScript. I think it’s a good opportunity to know other language to do games

My question is, Is there any team who is going to do a game in javaScript and have a place for me or if not, any recommendation about a starting point, libraries, tools, blog posts, etc..

Thanks in advance.

Regards!!!
Juanjo

will a framework do the job?

I'm in... ?

Daaaamn I really want to participate but I have so little time this weekend...

It will be my second LD. I'm gonna try to do something, even if it's a ridiculously small browser game. Stay tuned for some javascript ascii-art weirdness !

I'm in for Ludum Dare 39!

This is my 5th time now. I’ll be going for the same tools as usual:

  • Engine: Unity
  • Graphics: Aseprite, Photoshop
  • Audio: Audacity, EnergyXT (I might not get to the point of adding audio, but I really hope I do this time)

Good luck and have fun, everyone! :grinning:

I'm in!

Long time no see, Ludum Dare. Last time was LD36 in Aug '16.

This is the first time I'm jamming alone, and depending on the theme, I'll either make a small new game, or finally finish one or several previous jam games that never got properly finished.

Main tools: - Unity (C#, MonoDevelop) - Photoshop - Maya - http://www.bfxr.net/ - http://boscaceoil.net/

Possible jam games to update / finish: 0. Baja Berserkers - to do: implement updated 3D models, make the car shoot and blow stuff up (incl. some sounds, effects, and basic enemy logic) 0. Bounty: Brawl - to do: update enemy spawning, enemy appearance (better differentiate them from the Player, and different types from each other), UI, menu and some polish 0. Shakespeare's Curse - to do: finish game logic (it was my first and only grid puzzle game, and I underestimated the increased complexity), add some sounds, music and menu

Im_in_001

This is the first time I'm going to participate in the LD.

I'm thinking about going for the Compo but I'm open to collaborating with anyone interested in making a game with me for the Jam

The stuff I know about:

  • Frameworks: Unity3D
  • Programming Languages: C#, JS
  • Visual: Pixel Art (Aseprite), Mildly Good at hand painting
  • Audio: Audacity, Beepbox

Recent Work

  • Small game I made with friends on an improvised Jam: It's Alive
  • Smaller game I'm working on my free time: Arkapongout
