They see me rolling

the previous day i have done a ton of progress, i got most of the features done, today i have to polish the game some more, add a few more features, and hopefully start working on the menus

Keep On Keeping On! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
We really enjoy this Game Jam and are looking forward to test your games. How do you like this piece we made so far. Let us know!

And... here's the 3rd minigame of the Loop Collection ! Breeze Waker, where you flick your fan to push a small ship. This one was way harder to get to work than the first two, due to how I try to detect when you flick the fan. I'll have to rework the movement a bit more, since it can get hard to control at times.
That's all for now ! I'll have to work on SFX and music, and additional art. See you soon, and good luck ^^

I know I could spend all of tomorrow, pretty much, polishing what I have and getting it totally feature complete, but I am fine and happy with what I have even if it doesn't have any sort of score tracking. For my first solo project in Unity, I am happy with the result.

after

12 hours left and all I have to work on are tutorial, level design/balancing, extra audio, music and VFX! Never had so much time for those. I usually have to design UI and even some mechanics on Sunday as well.

Good morning!
This morning I spent polishing the random level generation.
Yesterday the platforms generated where too much disconnected. I wanted them to connect more so the textures will look more interesting in the end. Turns out: the code was not optimized to identify each platform using their coordinates. That were just randomly put in a list without order. I had to program code to make it possible to identify platforms by their position in the level. Eventually it worked, using that code I made some more functions that return the offset of the neighbors in blocks.
So, for example: a platform has a platform 2 blocks above it. If you call that function asking for the nearest top neighbor it will return 2. This is very useful. I made a heatmap deciding where to connect the platforms using that code. I realized I could reuse the same code to add power ups, so I did! Now it is time to add enemies. I want to have several enemy types: circling enemies, walking enemies and stationary enemies. If I have time I'll let them shoot too! You have to avoid the enemies, maybe I'll add code that you can kill them by jumping on top, but only if I have time.
As you can see the levels are built out of blocks. That will change, I just wanted to have the functionality right (and I'm procrastinating creating graphics haha).
You can try it here: http://wouter52.com/?page=LD47_PART2&standalone=1 Feedback is appreciated :-)

PS: The dialogs shown are not in the game

Come say hi
Hey ! Here is the concept of "Sourround them" my first solo jam.
It's like the snake but this time you have to practice Ouroboros a lot to destroy enemies.

Now that the core is here I'm working on the feedback. I'm not sure if I'll have time to finish the compo but I think I'll be in time for the jam.

See you after the rush !

* savvy community* is more than ready to deal with STUCK IN A LOOP.
Yesterday was about discussing a lot about the theme, what it inspires us in gaming and in a broader sense, in the cultural landscape. Being relevant, original and savvy, that's our spirit for the next 2 days. 😎
Have a nice day from 🇫🇷 and good luck to all!

KILL JACK!! But do it well.. Director is not happy about it! Do your paper as Johnny beating Jack to death, collecting points of style, if you lose.. CUT and repeat the scene.
PD: Is being a blast, i am fully working legit 24 hours for this!!! "Tired af too heh"
Dang. The whole style is kind of predicated on this working!
...I guess I'll make a start on content.

We got lots done today! Buttons for activating things to help later time loops of yourself. Things like like boost pads and hover pads. And traps that don't reset with time loops, leading to all sorts of weirdness! Also here is Sir Fish, who just got some animations.
I also spent a while deciding just how much neck he'd get. Not much.

Animations! Yay!

I'm a bit off from really having the art style finalized, but the end of the level portal looks nice and I'm not using the default ProBuilder texture for our terrain any more! It may well be that these abstract checkerlands are the final destination for Sir Fish. That'd be okay.
The game's playing pretty well so far! Time to sleep.
Considering we only had a day so far, as the kickoff was at midnight for our team ◉◉ we really have been making great strides. Character, environment and most of the logic is nearly done. We are currently iterating on the game mechanics and adding flavour.
Our artstyle is very original! It's heavily inspired by a niche movie called Tron, don't know if you heard about it? ¯_(ツ)/¯
Our 3D modelled character will be rendered as a spritesheet to be used in game.

Second iteration of the level design.

Diving back in, see ya at the finish line (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Just need to add some sound and some kind of main menu and polish the difficulty a little, and we should be good to go. But now, it's time for lunch, yay!

Now I just need to finish the start and end screens and then some. After that, sound!

A bit more progress on our game, now our enemies will start to patrol our level
okay last question but if we are taking part in the jam (72 hour one) we DONT have to share our source code right??
1 day down and we have made nice progress! Still hard to see if we'll have time for the initial idea - but we'll see what we can do. For now, please check out some of the AMAZING art done by the wonderful @spacey3d. Feel free to follow her on https://twitter.com/spacey3d.
Introducing the Tank:

and the Bard:

We have four more characters to share with you over the weekend ❤
okay so if we are doing the jam (72 hour one) we DONT have to add source code right??
The robot vacuum cleaner is stucked in the loop and cannot clean the entire floor in the room. Let's help him a little!

This is our current environment! There will be advanced lighting and more contrast :)

We hope you will test and rate our game after finishing :)
Were ready to start again. everyone is looking forward to today!

If you have 5 minutes spare I would appreciate any feedback I can get.
Your feedback has helped so much, thank you everyone.

I've added trails to the characters so you can see your planned movement better and also added muzzle flashes so you can see when the characters shoot (although shooting hasn't been fully implemented yet).

and there we go my first LD jam done. i hope i was able to upload it correctly so people can actually play it but if not i hope ill get some people telling me i need to change it lol. i had fun with it, i do wish i had the last day to work on it some more but thats okay. Will def be joining next LD to see if i have improved at all. Also thank you to everyone who answered my many questions i posted lol.
One day I'll participate in Ludum Dare and have time to spare, hang around and chat and stuff... but not this time...
May I present the title screen!

It's starting to look like I'm in for a hectic finish. The good news is that I've implemented looking around the main hub with a control scheme reminiscent of the one from FNaF4. The bad news is that the actual gameplay mechanics are barely started, to say nothing of the audio.
I squeezed in one last environment in Blender - this is for the puzzle rooms, where you'll... well, solve puzzles.

System failure: It's 3AM, you are alone and the supercomputer you're in charge of is endlessly rebooting.
Honestly, I'm kind of happy. It's about 50% done and it's kind of fun considering it's entirely in vanilla javascript. I have still the actual game to put together, but hey the base is here.

Just gotta put in a title/end screen, some polish, and then I'm all set.

i thik i need to restart
now its 24 hour jam for me
Some good Jet Set Radio vibes here.

my first store in blender, it will be on the first floor of the apartment.

So making some good progress now

I finally decided on a title and completed the main menu for my WarioWare-like game. Next up is a scoring system and some more minigames, then hopefully some music if I have time.

You can watch me work on the game live right now @ https://www.twitch.tv/fatsheep__
Set your rhythm machine and destroy the Music Space Police with the power of your drum loops!

:eye::lips::eye: oops
Can you get out of the inifinite world ? Coming soon...

An arcade game where every coin you collect another clone follows your path and loops.
Yay! The game is working, I just need to churn out a few more stages. And, hopefully get an in browser emulator running, so judging isn't going to be annoying.
See the title screen, and one of the later stages. Which I haven't beaten myself yet ;)
Fun fact: The game is now 14.305 bytes, this GIF alone has a whopping 2 MB.!

Completed the base mechanics of the game and added a mini tutorial.
Now to polish it up, and add more gameplay.

Feel free to give it a go in the meantime.

My friend and I are kind of tired of our usual playlist
Finished with player action icons, these will be placed on the ground as the player use different action and are in different states. In-order Special ability, Primary weapon, secondary weapon, death.
Hi. I am trying to run my game in a browser on itch.io. But I use default controls with spacebar as a jump button. That´s not ideal, because spacebar scrolls to the bottom of the page in most major browsers (Chrome and Firefox).
I know that I need to add an event listener, like these:
http://forum.haxeflixel.com/topic/385/prevent-scroll-on-html5-solved
https://www.construct.net/en/forum/construct-3/how-do-i-8/prevent-scrolling-itch-io-143583
but where do I add it? To the Description tab? That doesn´t work for me.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you.

Did a lot of play testing and balancing, added some explosion particles, and added the core sound effects. It's coming together, just needs polish now!

A friend (@nacho-hon) and I are working together to build a Synthwave loop generator for the Jam. The idea is that as you edit the music tracks, the environment will change. Let's hope we can get it done. Here is a WIP of the graphics component. https://youtu.be/yoq0juPX5Ew
Today was a rough day :( . My friend @huthuthunter and I decided to scrap our game idea halfway through the jam due to the fact we were not passionate about the idea anymore, felt demotivated and the game scope was way to big for a 3 day jam. After a long discussion and brainstorm we came up with a new idea and began work straight away. Super happy we were able to move on and not feel like we had to finish our previous idea however it felt like we should have switched ideas earlier. Anyways, I've gotten most of the mechanics up and working in an afternoon and done some epic art with @huthuthunter. Just learnt how to do arrays in Unity and create my own custom random obstacle generation script. Learning heaps and am gonna go hit the sack now and continue with the development tomorrow! Goodnight : )

I am having some problems with movement as my player is moving on the ring and the the ring is contracting in size(since m a nooob), but basic game is working

Aww! I love it

is it bad or good?
We hope everyone is doing well!
So due to some circumstances I got a late start to the jam so I decided to do a basic platformer. If I can't make cool mechanics I may as well make it funny!

See the tentacles in action! :musical_note: Sound on to hear the first completed track :notes:

(also hey look snail guy made it in!)

You can find it here!

Got most everything but sound.

Hope everyone is having fun with the jam! My indie game Marty just released on Google Play and Itch.io if anyone wants to check it out when the have some free time! https://zack-bazzle.itch.io/marty
We made some more progress on our little game (@zoranster, @stefan-pijnacker-gd, @kingdwarf). It's starting to look nicer!

Astronauts stuck in orbit around a moon - ran out of time for any polish, as I have to stop already.
Had fun anyways :)
After trying to clean up some of my code I broke my game. Ended up causing it to be in a continual loop of menus with no escape, all the while still being able to control the character.
After spending all day trying to find the problem I made (and having a quick nap after checking thee same things over and over) I finally fixed it. Unfortunately this took away some time I wanted to spend setting up the map. So the game won't be as long as I originally planned but then thinking about it that would probably turn this from a game of running in circles finding codes to one of frustration.
Tomorrow will be getting the last touches to make it playable then possibly some polish.

Added a shine effect to highlight interactable objects

My last entry was well polished by the end of the jam, this one hopefully will be playable at least 😅
Spending 8 hours on coming up with an idea wasn't bad enough...
So I decided to find out how to make a splitscreen derby game, and also try out Unity's new InputSystem.

Hey guys! Check out our game. We've had a lot of fun this game jam with little to no hiccups and we're looking forward to you all checking it out.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/dolen-days-working-title
I published all the previous versions if you're interested in the evolution of the game.

Hi guys!
well, i had some problems with my pc on the first day. so I'm starting this morning!
I hope to have time for me to finish!
need something? (skyrim reference)

i've completed the main gameplay of my game - all 3 stages. I now need to add sound, a main menu and a high score counter. Then I'll be done!
https://imgur.com/a/xG2kF89
I will not have so much time now, so i decided for a smaller game and finished early! I present you "Astroboi"

A short game where you play as an astronaut that is stuck in a dream loop. Can you find a way to break the repeating dream?

A man and his Echo (☞゚ヮ゚)☞ ☜(゚ヮ゚☜).

Soooo close.
Starting right now. I know I'm super late. I hope I can finish.
... so I added 2 death screens!

Now I just need a win condition and I'll have something slightly playable. Hopefully I'll have time to add some polish too.
Working on this (taxi driving game) is a lot of fun, quite experimental - no idea if it will be close to finished and fun to play tomorrow (or if it can even be run on normal hardware). Getting a street system for the AI to use was a challenge, but it works well now with the "rigging" done automatically.

In my tiny game boy game you are stuck in a loop to conquer all the high scores of a back alley gaming arcade!
Don't worry about the income. Every day your mom gives you $3 to play some games again and again and again.

i made a stage now and its got the start of a game but i need to find more textures and bild more rooms
