This past couple of days have been interesting.
Yesterday I started setting up my streaming tools. My last contact with Twitch as a provider was right after launch, so it’s nice to see tools like OBS making everyone’s life easier. I had a second screen in the room that’s been unused for months so I went and bought an HDMI cable to get a double monitor environment for better coding.
You can find the stream at: Mr Pakoito’s Cavalcade of WTFs
So without further ado, I started streaming my initial project setup. My objective for today was getting from a fresh Android Studio install to having something on a screen and I must say it’s been a bit of a struggle but finally successful.
After some intense tinkering with Gradle and Android Studio I’ve been able to kickstart a prep project in Github that includes libgdx and artemis-odb running for windows and android on a click’s distance. I’ve also setup my fave color scheme (a heavily tweaked Vibrant Ink), a code formatter leveraging Android’s best practices, and an array of key bindings for faster development.
The guys in the stream were curious about my first external dependency, Project Lombok. PL is a nice library sitting in your compiler’s annotator that saves you hours of writing boilerplate code for POJOs. Using it is “free”, given that is not a dependency to include in your app, just an annotation tool.

Did the team jam last time and had a lot of fun. Most likely be entering the solo 48 hour one this time around
Tools:
Unity
Flash
Photoshop
http://www.earslap.com/page/otomata.html – For audio
Good luck too all and lets create some fun games
I’m joining for the first time. Hope I can come up with something decent in 48 hours. I’m not the most experienced but I’ve made a few games.
I will be using:
It’s going to be a lot of fun this weekend!
What we will use at this time?
Construct?
Fusion?
Unity?
Who Knows…
Good Luck for Everyone

Here I am, fighting off the same sinus infection that started during the last LD I tried to participate in. Can’t guarantee I’ll finish anything in the state I’m in, but I’ll do my best. Never give up, never surrender.
As usual, I’ll work in Unity Free and use my customized first-person controller. There are some updates I’ve made from another project that I may use, if so I’ll update the link before the competition begins.
If you want to check out games I’ve made in the past (not all for LD), look here. My latest game started as an LD compo project but then got too epic for the time limit, so I just released it on my own.
Hi, I’m in. Probably using something like Phaser.js for a change of pace. Failing that, pure Javascript with jQuery and HTML as a dumb web game. Let’s see what happens!

It’s game time.
I’ve missed three of the past four Ludum Dares, and I am in no mood to take any of life’s cheap [expletive] anymore.
That’s why it’s time to hunker down, invite a bro over for the weekend, and do the jam and the compo.
That’s right, both.
Is it making up for lost time? Is it masochism? Is it just plain stupidity? Probably all three. See you on the other side, brothers.
Hello Ludum Darers!!
This will be my first LD and I am doing the jam with a friend of mine. We’ve been talking about game/story ideas for (literally) years now, and these ideas have developed and grown substantially; but, no game has yet been created. Enter Ludum Dare. I am super grateful to the creator/s (Geoff Howland) of this event, as it is super insightful to impose a deadline to motivate creative procrastinators.
Hopefully, if nothing else, I will learn a great deal from this process. I actually already have, as we did the warmup yesterday, which was super fun!! I am very much a novice programmer (really more of a designer/scripter), so I am using Twine, which aside from being an excellent planning tool, is also super easy to code!
Tools: Twine
Music: My electric drum kit, an H4n Zoom recorder, misc. instruments lying about, Audacity
Graphics: Gimp
Good luck to everyone!!
Hello peoples of the internet I’m in. Not that good at unity but I’m going to use it anyways. Last LD i played an failed so i wanted to try again. If you want to watch the full awesomeness live streaming here.
This will be my fourth year of Ludum Dare and the seventh time I compete. I’m going to write a live blog like I always did which can be found here.
This time I have to put a bit more effort in music rather than graphics 😉 I learned my lesson.
This time I’ll be using InCourse® GameCreator again. A webbased game engine developed by Islandworks and dubbed ‘the GameCreator’. It’s a webbased game engine with an easy and no-coding editor. I’ll be using the Ludum Dare promo code for more statistics. I’m excited!
OS of choice: Windows 8.1
Game engine of choice: InCourse 3.2 – the Gamecreator
Graphics: Photoshop or Illustrator
Audio: Audicity & Anvil.
Hardware: Wacom cintiq (Pen tablet), Space Explorer (3d Mouse), M5 mouse, dual monitors etc.
I’ll post a “How did I do it” on the end as I did the last times.
Other year’s entries include but are not limited to: World Alone, Be the Villain and The Dragon Journey.

And a lot more! Visit my live blog during the event!
Good luck fellow Ludum darers!

Well, I better make this post before I forget. I’m in, for my fourth ludum dare. Feels like ages ago when I made a little game where you are a circle shooting other circles for ludum dare 27. I have improved so much since then. My last ludum dare was (sort of) a full fledged retro-fps. This is going to be interesting as LD is on the weekend right before school starts. And this is my first year of high school. My mother passed away recently, I wish she could see this, she was the first person I always showed my games to. I hope I make something that would have made her proud.
Engine: Unity
Programming language: C#
3D: Blender
2d: Gimp
Sound: Bfxr and/or my microphone
Good luck everybody
I’ll probably be participating in the Compo this weekend. I’ll be using Java and LWJGL, and I have some a base library that I’ll be using which can be found here.
ImpactJS + paint.net + FL Studio + some hardware synths
I’ve been away too long!
So before I said I was in but not sure what tools and etc, but now I know
Game Engine: Unreal Engine 4
Programming IDE : Visual Studio 2013
Art Asset Creation: Blender, Photoshop
Audio: sfxr
I plan to try a twist and do this in an Agile fashion, where each sprint is a set of 4 hours, I am hoping to see some kind of ROI this way. I think it will be what is needed to stop and see whats going on after being in the trenches. I plan on doing a lifestream as well! http://www.twitch.tv/darxval it should show up on the side of the screen as “darxval” during the compo if you guys are interested.
I have failed miserably most of the times I went into this, but who knows third time the charm?
Good luck to you guys!
HERE WE GO!
I’m in for LD30, and super excited!
Tools:
I think that live reloading will make a *huge* difference in how I make my game. It’s something I’ve always wanted in LÖVE, and now I have it! I’m probably going to do a timelapse, but I’ll need to find a program to make a timelapse on linux. Last time I had issues with splicing the frames together, despite capturing them fine. This looks promising.
Gameplay wise, I’m going to focus on making a simple idea, so as to make it take minimal programming effort.
Good luck,
– Nsmurf
If everything goes right I will participate in this Ludum Dare Compo…
The tools I’ll be using are the following:
I have an idea for a game I want to make but I doubt it fits in the themes so if it fits I may go for it (although it will be hard to finish it in time), if it doesn’t fit I’ll work on it later
If the theme happens to not be garbaje, then I will probably be in! I’ll be using Programmer’s Notepad as my ‘IDE’, Love2d as the thing that I am programming with, SECS a class system, as well as Meta, which I am using to modify syntactical stuff. I’ll also be using the standalone Game Maker Image Editor that was released by Mark Overmars some time ago.
Pretty standard “I’m in” post, tbh
Hi!
I’m in for the second time. With almost the same toolset as before:
Will probably be streaming at http://www.twitch.tv/simlpesmiler. Tune in!
Cheers!
