LD30 August 22–25, 2014

I’m in… Maybe? Hospital Jam!

DorkHey!

I’m currently in hospital, had my OP yesterday.

But I just found some internet (5kb/s) which means I’m probably going to participate in LD30.
If the theme is going to be any good, and if I’m not too high on painkillers. ;D

Here is what I’m going to use:

  • Language: AS3
  • Libary: FlashPunk
  • IDE: FlashDevelop
  • GFX: GIMP
  • SFX: Hm, Bfxr?
Don’t have anything for music. Maybe I’ll make some sounds with my voice.

I can’t promise much in terms of updates since I don’t know how long my thin connection to the world wide web is going to hold. Certainly no streams or videos from me…

Maybe I’ll be out of here before the deadline ends. :)

Shoutout to Ludum Dare Jam @ KHS Kassel. Wish I was with you guys XOXO  T.T

The rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

For those who know me an care, I’m in! 😀 I am busy and tired as hell this month, but that is not enough reason to break my streak of 8 LDs in a row.

Looking at the final theme list, the feeling that I have is that for the last 3-4LDs the finalists have been same old same old… So I am kinda already building my game in my head. I had a neat idea a few weeks ago which I will try to boot off this weekend.

Good luck everyone!

I’m So In

Ludum Dare is just what I need to get out of the funk of working on the same project for ages. So I’m totally in!

As usual I’ll be using:

  • Unity2D with my own framework (to be uploaded shortly)
  • Inkscape for vector art generation
  • Gimp for art tweaks
  • Audacity for audio processing (plan to record myself making silly noises for the audio this time)
  • Some kind of midi program maybe for music? Dunno yet
  • Github/Bitbucket for version control like a boss
  • Twitter (@BounderGames) and possibly Twitch (BounderGames)

I’ve downloaded the new Unity 4.6 beta and am really looking forward to trying the new GUI out with whatever game I end up making!

I’m personally hoping for a theme where I can make a game about building things, and there are some in the running which would totally work for that, so here’s hoping!

EDIT: Never got around to putting a framework together this time, so starting from scratch! At least I’ve got the Unity beta gui to try out! 😀

I am in !

Hi guys and girls!

This will be my third Ludum Dare and hopefully the second time that I submit a game! :)

I will be using Unity3D together with Monodevelop

If I end up doing a 2D game I will use Photoshop for the graphics and NGUI as a 2D plugin for Unity

Happy jamming!

Sound and music software?

Hello everyone. So i am looking to join the LD30. Actually heard about it on tuesday and decided to go for it yesterday. Never made (let alone) finished a game and to be honest i don’t have that much knowledge on making one. I just need a motivator to even get to making a game and i am hoping the forced deadline will help me actually get to making something. I can somewhat do visuals, but i have not got any clue on what to use for sound and or music, if i even get to that. Does anyone here have suggestions on what software to use for music and sfx? Obviously something that is super easy to learn cause eeeh 36 hours is not much aye. I love you.
whehehe

Kind regards,
Danny

Music is tough since a lot of digital audio workstations can be fairly complex and take time to learn, and can cost quite a bit of money. I personally use FL Studio, and I like it, but I don’t know if I would recommend it on such short notice.

Thank you very much rojo and Thingus. I will gladly have a look at your suggestions and really appreciate it.

I am in!

I am in, alone,  for first time! This time I and kacperski1 want to work separately – we’re going to test our programming skills.

So yeah, I’m going to use:

– SFML & OpenGL – maybe 3D? I don’t know.

– Code::Blocks as my IDE.

– GIMP to make graphics.

– AUDACITY as my audio editor.

To look at my and kacperski1’s game developing progress, check our website.

Good luck at Jam!

Let’s do this again!

I’m in for this one; ignoring all wisdom to stick with what you know, I’m swapping GameMaker (that I did my last two successful entries in) for Unity (a program that I have historically had Issues with, but I think I’ve got it down now!)

I’m sure it’ll be fine.

Anyone in Frankfurt/Germany?

Hi everyone!

I’d like to share workspace with others in Frankfurt/Germany for the compo. Anyone around here?

Hoping to do Ludum Dare this weekend, got my base code up on : http://git.9lines.org/9lines/ludum_dare_30

I’ll probably be using haxeflixel, gimp, tiled in my game.

Good luck to everyone taking part!

Me is also participating!

This post comes a bit late, but whatever. I had to get other stuff done in order to be able to fully focus on this Ludum Dare, which I’m really excited for! It will be my second one.

The tools are similar to the last time. I will again be using:

  • Language: Java
  • IDE: Eclipse
  • Engine/Framework: JangoDare
  • Graphics: GIMP, maybe Inkscape
  • Sound effects: Bfxr (the downloadable one, I like standalone stuff!); possibly something else if it fits better. Idk.
  • Sound editing: Audacity
  • Music: I don’t know yet, maybe FL Studio or some online generator. I wish I could play an instrument sometimes 😀
  • My brain

I have probably forgotten something, but these are the most important tools I’ll be making use of.

Also, I would like to mention that I am actually a bit sad about the Potato Salad theme being gone. I wonder what people would’ve come up with. lol

Hello, I’m in. This is my first Ludum Dare sooo… i’ll try to do my best

Looking forward to playing everyone’s games! Good luck everybody! Enjoy It

First timer here..

Hey, first time entering the Ludum Dare competition. I mainly use C# (aside from some Minecraft modding in Java), VS2013 and ReSharper. For games, I also use the XNA framework. Have fun, everyone! And good luck 😉

Going for my 4 entry here.

I’ve made some Java codebase with LWJGL for this time. It’s avaible here https://bitbucket.org/badrpas/spark

Good luck everyone and have fun!

I am back for my second jam.

Will be streaming if my internet holds up at www.twitch.tv/thedwarfthatdigs

IDE: Eclipse

Engine: Unknown 2.0

Attempt at art: Paint.net

All libraries can be found here

I’m hopefully in!

Hopefully I will be available to at least attempt Ludum Dare this weekend.

I will be coding in the D Language using Derbot Engine, my WIP game engine powered by SDL.

I got lazy with commenting part way through, so if you wish to use my engine and the comments haven’t been updated I wish you the best of luck (good luck even if the comments have been updated too :P)

Awesome that you’re using D! =)

It’s never too late to start – I’m in !

Hello,

it’s my first time here at LD :)

I’ve never made a game, so that might be a great opportunity to really get into game making.

Technically, I plan on developing it using Java and Swing.

May the force be with me. And inspiration. And internet kitties.

Let’s do this

Will this be the one? Shall I submit a game to Ludum Dare? Is the time for lurking in the shadows and envying all the finished games finally over? Stay tuned to find out.

I’m still on my summer vacation and nothing major is planned for the weekend, so the conditions should be pretty optimal. I have dabbled with gamedev before, but haven’t got a lot to show for it. Hopefully after the weekend that has changed.

I have most experience with Flash and the Flixel library so those are what I’m going to use. FlashDevelop is my IDE. It’s been a while since I last did anything with Flixel, so now is a great time to refresh my memory about it and ActionScript.

This should be an interesting weekend, good luck to everyone.

We’re in

This team of twin bros is in for LD 30.  I haven’t been so excited about a Jam since I went to the farmer’s market. We plan to use GameMaker as our platform with graphics made in Photoshop and maybe Aseprite.
