Ludum Dare 50 April 2–5, 2022

I'm In

I am usysrc (aka headchant) and I am planning to participate in LD50 next weekend.

My tools are: - LÖVE https://love2d.org/ - My own codebase/boilerplate: https://github.com/usysrc/love-boilerplate - VSCode / Vim - Aseprite - Hardware Synths / FLStudio / https://sfxr.me / tenacity

To shorten the time until the event starts I am currently updating and reworking my codebase. This isn't the first time I do Ludum Dare but I am as stoked as the first time. I wish you all a great time!

Looking for team members for LD50

Hey guys, last year for Ludume Dare 49 we built this https://enverarco.itch.io/finbirds. We're looking for developers, level designers, musicians and artists. The more the merrier. If you're interested you can join our server here -> https://discord.gg/F4jV4NXU

We'll be using Unity as a game engine and would like to build a game using web3 and possibly multiplayer as one of our developers has experience with this.

It's been a while..

Mecha Unit 37

bleep bloop I'm excited for this LD, my weapons of choice: - Aseprite - Unity - 1BitDragon - SFXR - Trello

Restricting myself to pixel art, so no blender fun unless the theme requires some kind of 3D gameplay gimmick. Also must be playable in the browser.

In the middle of preparations

Usually I start from scratch, but this time i am going to do a little bit of preparations, like scene transitions and...., in fact scene transitions are only thing I have in my mind right now. :D What else do you prepare?

Anyway, here is my first "Logo" scene. :)

Wait A Minute....

I knew it was a good idea to suggest popular themes from previous Theme Voting rounds! It's only the first round and two of my suggested themes are in the Theme Voting.

Maybe one of these can finally have its shot at being the theme for Ludum Dare.

I see that "Parasite" and "One tool, many purposes" are back, they actually could be kind of interesting as themes.

I'm in!

Ludum dare 49 was my first ludum dare and my first jam in general. A lot of mistakes were made and a lot was learned, I'm excited to take that experience to ludum dare 50. I have high hopes for the themes I've been seeing, let's make some incredible games. . . I'm in.

I'm in Compo/Extra

Loving this new "Extra" format. I have a dissertation due, so might be nice if I'm too busy for the compo.

Recherche d'équipe (équipe trouvée ! ;) )

:flagfr: Bonjour ! :flagfr:

Here we go!!!

It's been a long while since I did a ludum dare(before the site change I think)and with this being the 50th edition it feels like a good one to jump back in. I'm like 90% sure all possible interferences are out of the way, so let's go.

I'll be doing the compo and using Pico-8.

Cheers!!

Game Jam 2022 !

Hello everyone ! We're a team of two 2D artists, a programmer and a sound designer. We're looking for a game designer to complete the team ! It's our first game jam and we're very excited about it ! Give me a sign if interested !

First LD, Super Excited!

Really excited to participate in this event! This will be our first time participating in LD, and it'll be a nice break from working on our first commercial game.

We're a husband and wife team that jumped all in with gamedev this Summer and left our 9-5's. It's been a crazy exciting year and we're really looking forward to see if we can pull this off in a weekend.

We're both a little musically challenged, so I'm not sure if we're going to attempt original music or not yet, it's still up for debate, but we might be open to working with a musician if someone out there was interested.

Good luck to everyone, can't wait!!

theme voting

I have opinions on these but honestly don't hate any of them. We can make this work.

Here we go again

Is it that time again? you bet it is, my 5th ludum dare so far, cant wait to see what the theme is

Should I enter?

So I’m really new to game dev, and I’ve only made really one game with not much in it. Would it be a good idea to enter a game jam like this right now?

Already hyped!

Gave +1 to three things I would also enjoy IRL.

This time I'll be teaming up with my friend Ankea for the 72h JAM.

It's already been two years since we produced the experimental nightmare known as I I R O for LD46.

Thought it would be appropriate to whip up this spooky little GIF to commemorate the occasion.

It was quite an interesting process back then, and we even set up a studio for the weekend.

This time we'll be working remotely from the comfort of our own dens, though.

Feeling quite confident that you can expect us to create something out of the ordinary once again.

Oh, and BTW.

Was quite delighted to find out today that someone put together a 1:1 remake of the classic MSPaint for modern web-browsers.

It even has the old school B&W dithering brushes intact!

If you're into retro-aesthetics or otherwise feel like using ancient software, I'd recommend it! :paintbrush:

Since I'll be mostly handling the code-department, I probably won't be using it myself this time. But would definitely consider it in my future COMPO-endeavors!

But yeah.

As usual: Have a great JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!

I'm in

[EN] Initially planned with friend, finally i'll made this one alone in COMPO this is my favorite format (but it arrives i'm lack of time and finish in jam ^^).

I've planned to use Game Maker Studio 1 or maybe Game Maker Studio 2 with OPERA GXC export (but i don't know if there is a lot of user of OPERA here).

Good luck to all, have a great theme and a great jam !

Almost like an early April Fools

Echoes is both in the first and second round of theme voting. I guess that's a mistake, but the irony is overwhelming.

Looking forward to LD50!

Hey all, looking forward to LD50, I hope you're enjoying the theme voting and that the themes are sparking people's creativity. Grats for reaching 50 too, that's quite the achievement!

I played through a host of LD49 submissions last year, so here's part 1 of my LD49 Let's Play to get ourselves excited for the weekend!
