LD 39 July 28–31, 2017

I am almost certainly in.

Yep. For the first time in a while, I have a lot of time! I also have knowledge of Javascript, PHP, Choicescript, Twine, Java, Inform...heck, I could even do something crazy like 6502.

...I also can't figure out how to change my avatar. Oh, well. Long as I can enter and make posts, I'll be fine!

Well, here we go again...

With just under 30 hours to go, I've decided the Ludum Dare 39 will be my second Ludum Dare. Why? I still don't know.

Looking back on my last LD attempt, I think I let my rather amateurish and, how can I put this other than this, dreadful artwork (something that I had expected to be a mildly "under par", if I'm trying to be optimistic) get be down, so, having seen some of the remaining themes, I'm feeling hopeful that focusing on the Music and a Story might be enough to make this one a bit better than the last.

Having taken a look at the current themes I can see, I've had a few basic thoughts for any plots and their quality... varies, shall we say, so I can only hope that the music can more than make up for any "let-downs".

If there was only one thing I would still be slightly pessimistic about going into this is that I'm working alone on it. I'm rather disappointed that, knowing many friends you are very good at art and programming, I've been unable to rope anyone into creating a team. I don't think this'll be too much of a hindrance, since every other game I've made (bar one) I've done along (not that any of them have been finished or published...) (That said, I'm looking into joining a team over on CrowdForge, so this may not be a permanent issue!)

Looks like we'll just have to wait and see what this LD roller coaster has in store for us on Saturday.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! ~Wolfie @Infinite8Games (Twitter)

I'm in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare event, and I'm rooting for "Signal Lost" for some reason. I dont' even know why, I just like the idea of it. As usual, I'll be using Godot, Aseprite, Beepbox.co and documenting it all on my Youtube channel.

Stay tuned!

Im in!

First ludum for me!

I'm in with an audio spin

Game jams are super fun. Ludum Dare is one of the funnest. So, here I am to make something fun, with a lean toward solid audio and interesting mechanics.

I compose music and produce sound effects for games, so that's my focus. Pretty good at tech. Okay at game design. Not so great at graphics.

This is my fourth attempt at making a game for Ludum Dare. Last time around, I made music for seven projects. Now I'm ready to create a game of my own again.

Tools? Still thinking on those.

  • Engine: Unity (C#) with ProBuilder
  • Audio: FL Studio 12 (Sytrus, Nexus, Super Audio Cart, and/or EastWest Play)
  • Graphics: Aseprite for some pixelly textures (possibly)

Streaming the whole thing on Twitch, which should be an interesting experience.

Feel free to follow me on Twitter and check out my website where I offer various game audio services.

Good luck to everyone else joining in!

Good luck for everyone!

Just another I'm-in post that nobody will read

Hello, going to try Compo again (last time in 2015).

Tools of choice: Haxe, OpenFl, HaxeDevelop, Mulab, Audacity, LabChirp, Krita

This is the first jam where I'm using OpenFl outside of HaxeFlixel, so kind of low-level this time, wish me luck :-)

Cheers!

In my previous post i outlined what i've got holding me back. two 8 hour work shifts, which also means i need a regular sleep and meal schedule, will cut my time down to about 12 hours: friday night, saturday morning, saturday night, and briefly sunday if possible. Regardless, i'll be giving it my best! :D i always did wish Mike would open a 24 hour version of the jam, anyway! ;) (heart if you agree to that)
